April 15th.
The Coast Guard headquarters in Port Pulte has seen the Royal Navy fleet, which had been patrolling the coast, gradually withdraw to the docks in recent days. In addition to the Royal Navy fleet, the overseas fleets that were recalled by Isabella’s emergency order are now deployed in the three major ports in the coast, all in a defensive posture.
Meanwhile, in Pulteport, where the Royal Fleet was stationed, there were as many as six or seven hundred ships of all sizes, almost scattered along the entire coastline.
At this moment, high-ranking officials are holding a meeting in the conference room at Coast Guard headquarters.
"That's outrageous!"
"These uncouth Yan Kingdom bastards don't take us seriously at all!"
At the conference table, James, the young and handsome former commander of the Second Expeditionary Force, slammed his fist on the table in anger.
Upon hearing this, Anthony, the commander of the Unicorn Fleet, glanced at James, but did not respond. He simply reached for the teacup on the table.
"Bang!"
But the next moment, James slammed his hand on the table again and shouted angrily, "They don't respect our sovereignty at all!"
We have to do something!
As the slap landed, Anthony's wrist twitched, nearly dropping the teacup he had just picked up. He gripped the cup tightly, took a sip of black tea, and said in a muffled voice, "James, you'd better calm down."
Upon hearing Anthony's words, James immediately glared at him and rebuked him, "These Yan people are sailing in our territorial waters with such impunity!"
"How could you stand by and watch! Did you think there was absolutely nothing you could do...?"
Before he could finish speaking, Admiral Dorffin, the Royal Fleet commander seated at the head of the conference table, removed his pipe from his mouth with a grim face and interrupted him coldly:
"James."
"Watch your attitude."
Although Dorffin held a higher official rank than James, the hot-blooded and powerful James did not soften his stance. Instead, he scoffed and said:
"I just can't stand it."
“These past few days their ships have been brazenly sailing in our territorial waters. This is a provocation against us. How can you remain indifferent?”
"This is our territorial waters, within our sovereign territory. We must not allow other countries to sail back and forth with impunity!"
At this point, James became even more indignant. He glanced around at the several high-ranking naval officers at the table and continued, "But what is our fleet doing? Not only did they fail to stop them in time, they even allowed them to sail in our territorial waters, and they even withdrew their coastal patrol boats back to port. They are completely ignoring us!"
"Oh my God." James put his hand to his forehead, so angry he was practically grinding his teeth to powder.
As these words fell, Dolphin tapped his pipe but did not respond, while Anthony, still holding his teacup, stammered:
“Um…James, in fact, we have already warned the Yan people.”
“Warning? I don’t know anything about that. What kind of warning was it?” James raised an eyebrow.
Anthony put down his teacup, touched his nose, and said, "We've already called out to them, demanding that they leave our territorial waters immediately."
Upon hearing this, James laughed angrily: "Shout out? What's the use of shouting at them through a megaphone? Can verbal warnings stop their behavior?"
"This is completely useless!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Dorfin took a drag of his cigarette, his eyes glazed over, and stared coldly at James, saying, "What else?"
With a sharp "smack," James slammed his hand on the table again, raised his chin, and angrily shouted at Dorffin:
"Sail straight there!"
"Let them see our attitude!"
Dolfin couldn't help but roll his eyes and shake his head, saying, "Charge? Before we can even close the distance, the Yan Kingdom's shells will be firing."
James's expression froze for a moment, but he still said, "I don't think so! This is our territorial waters, and our fleet is all here!"
Upon hearing this, Dorfin said, "Do you really think the Yan people wouldn't dare to fire?"
Before Dorfin could finish speaking, Anthony interjected, "Well... I believe they'd dare to fire... after all, last time..."
James, his face flushed, scoffed, "We need to show our attitude, instead of just withdrawing our warships back to port."
"If we keep backing down, the Yan people will only become more aggressive."
"If you ask me, we should send a few ships to rush over there. We can't let the Yan Kingdom people look down on us."
"We need to take action, even if it means losing our ship and lives, at least it will show us our stance!"
As he spoke, James's gaze swept across the faces of the naval officers present, and they quickly lowered their heads.
"Forget it, James, it's no use." Dorfin tapped his pipe in annoyance.
Upon hearing this, James was enraged. He sat up abruptly in his chair and shouted angrily:
"How can you say we're useless?! This is our duty!"
"Even when faced with a formidable enemy, we should demonstrate unwavering courage! To yield is the act of a coward!"
These words were undoubtedly a slap in the face to the officers present, and everyone's expression turned ugly. Dorfin immediately let out a disgruntled snort and looked at James, saying:
"Then why don't you lead the team to make a solemn statement to the Yan people, demanding that they leave our territorial waters immediately, and if necessary, directly ram them to see if you can destroy their ships one by one, thus demonstrating your fearless attitude."
After speaking, James sat back down in his chair.
“I’m an army soldier, this isn’t my job,” James said coldly, sitting back in his chair with his arms crossed.
