Amidst the intense flames of the explosion, the already charred ground was turned upside down once more. Thick black smoke mixed with white haze spread across the battlefield. Amidst the swirling smoke, snowflakes melted, turning into a continuous drizzle that fell on the northern and southern flanks of the Golt army's defensive lines.
The Golgar soldiers, their faces covered in mud from the rain, roared as they fired cannonballs and bullets. The Yanbing advanced rapidly, sending infantry forward shortly after the battle began.
On the main road directly in front of the pass, columns of cavalry were charging towards the pass. The distance was too great and the elevation difference too large, so the Yan army's cannonballs could not reach the pass. Therefore, they launched a direct assault.
