Chapter 942 Consensus

As Isabella finished speaking, the heavy mood of everyone present eased considerably. Her positive and optimistic attitude was highly infectious, affecting almost everyone present.

Furthermore, Her Majesty the Queen did not remain at the palace in Garnat, but personally went to the front lines where the situation was tense. This move, while carrying enormous risks and causing concern among many, also inspired them. After all, Her Majesty's willingness to risk her life to come to the front lines demonstrated her unwavering resolve, which was enough to motivate any frontline personnel.

"Your Majesty...you...."

At this moment, James was so excited that his voice was trembling. He looked at Isabella, who stood tall and was dazzling, with burning eyes. He wanted to say something to her, but he was too excited to know what to say.

Dolphin glanced at James and pursed his lips. General Egan also noticed his nephew's lapse in behavior and coughed lightly to remind him not to overstep his bounds.

James ignored him, swallowed hard, and said, "Your Majesty, I will firmly support any order you issue!"

"I swear on my life that I will protect your safety!" he said, even raising one hand and making the oath in front of a crowd of people.

This action inevitably drew the attention of many people, but General Egan in the crowd lowered his head slightly, feeling his face burning.

Isabella pursed her lips and said, "Thank you, General James."

"Please sit down."

James then sat down excitedly, while Isabella leaned forward, hands on the table, her warm smile fading, and said in a slightly serious tone:

"However, compared to my own safety, I hope you can pay more attention to the safety of ordinary people."

“In our three major ports of entry alone, millions of people live, and in the coastal areas, large cities are springing up one after another, so I must warn you.”

She paused, then said with a serious face:

"We absolutely cannot risk a fierce conflict with Yan Kingdom at this time. I do not want to see the flames of war spread to our territory."

Eddington, who was listening quietly, nodded and looked at Isabella with satisfaction, thinking that his firm support for her ascension to the throne was an extremely correct decision.

Even today, with its strong national power and having been the dominant power on the continent of Leon for many years, it is not a wise decision to easily plunge its homeland into war.

He then agreed, saying, "Yes, Your Majesty."

As soon as she finished speaking, Isabella turned to look at Eddington and nodded to him. Following closely behind Eddington, General Neville, seated in his chair, said in a deep voice:

"Your Majesty, I completely agree with your idea."

"But I still have to emphasize one fact to you: Yan Kingdom provoked us first, and they might even escalate this military exercise into an act of aggression. If that happens..."

Neville gripped his scepter tightly, his face grim, and continued, "War is inevitable, and... we must prepare for a full-scale war now."

Isabella did not refute this statement, but nodded and said, "Yes, General Neville."

"Although I do not want to see war come to our country, we still have to be prepared for it."

"On my way to Pulton, I sent letters to King Figueir II and the Grand Duke of St. East, respectively, in case a more intense conflict breaks out, then..."

At this point, Isabella changed the subject: "Of course, I don't want things to turn out that badly."

"So, if Yan Kingdom is just conducting naval exercises right now, then let's patiently wait for them to finish them."

"During the military exercises in Yan Kingdom, we must not take any actions that could provoke conflict, all of you, especially the navy..."

She looked at Eddington with a serious expression: "Do not enter the Yan Kingdom's training area to avoid accidental injury."

These words clearly carried a hint of humiliation, but Eddington, with his clear mind and experience of many trials, still solemnly agreed: "Yes, Your Majesty."

"Given the current situation, I will keep the naval forces in check."

Isabella hummed in agreement and then looked at Neville.

Neville's expression was somewhat complicated. After sighing inwardly, he added:

"Please rest assured, Your Majesty."

"Our troops will not take any rash actions before you issue new orders."

Isabella looked around at everyone, and whether they were officers sitting at the conference table or those listening in, they all nodded in approval.

“Okay, then we… have reached an agreement.” Isabella crossed her arms, pursed her lips, and blinked.

“Yes, Your Majesty!” James shouted along with the crowd.

The meeting is now adjourned.

——

It's 7:30 p.m.

Admiral Neville arrived at the office at the far end of the third floor of the Maritime Bureau as promised.

After knocking on the door, as it opened, Grand Admiral Eddington came into Neville's view.

"Good evening, Your Excellency," Eddington greeted calmly, stepping aside to let him in.

"Good evening," Neville replied with a gloomy expression. He had just taken a step out, his gaze fixed on the office, when his clear greeting rang out again.

"Good evening, General Neville."

“You look much better than this afternoon,” Isabella said with a smile to Neville, her fair face tilted up as she looked towards the door from her desk.
