Chapter 863 Enzos's Undead Legion

On the other side.

Around 3 p.m. that day, Saski was still leading his army toward Pariston. The weather was fine that day, and although the early march had made them a little tired, they had indeed covered a considerable distance. Saski predicted that at this pace, they might be able to bring forward their final arrival time even further.

But just when he thought he would arrive in Pariston without any trouble, more than ten cavalrymen came galloping towards him on the wide road.

They arrived in haste, their faces filled with panic. After hastily merging into the forward troops of the Sixth Army Group, only a few minutes later, they caused a huge uproar.

The signalmen brought an incredible urgent report; the message was short, but contained a wealth of information.

"The Yan people have emerged from Enzos!!!"

At that moment, the communications corps captain, Michel, stood panting in front of Saski and succinctly conveyed this important information.

Upon hearing this, Saskia was initially taken aback and hadn't yet reacted, while his advisor Leo beside him urgently asked:

"What?"

"The Yan people left Enzos? When did this happen? How many of them were there? How did they get out of Enzos?"

Michel was still panting heavily, his face filled with panic. In fact, just recalling the scene he had witnessed that morning still terrified him. He swallowed hard and began to answer the questions one by one.

"Yes, sir, the Yan people have come out of Enzos."

"Just this morning...it must have been before...before nine o'clock, we spotted the Yan Kingdom troops at our outpost at the foot of the mountain...the Yan Kingdom's army inexplicably emerged from the mountains..."

"They...they have a lot of numbers, they're cavalry...a lot of cavalry..."

Michel stammered, his fear evident to all. Saski, having fully processed the information, couldn't help but step forward, grabbing Michel's collar and shouting angrily:

"Organize your language! What are you afraid of? What do you mean by 'many cavalry'? Haven't the roads already been destroyed? How could the Yan people manage to escape from Enzos with their cavalry?!"

"Did I mishear you, or is your description incorrect? Were they infantry or cavalry? And how many were there?"

Amidst the angry shouts, Saski slapped Michel across the face. Michel staggered, nearly falling to the ground. He covered his reddened cheek, tears welling in his eyes, but still managed to say in a trembling voice:

"Sir, it is indeed cavalry, there is no mistake. We all saw it. Those Yan Kingdom cavalry came out of the mountain road. We don't know the exact number of troops, but it far exceeds the number we can handle. The outpost doesn't have many troops. We can only withdraw immediately and let the residents of Pariston leave the town."

“It happened very suddenly. Not only you, but we didn’t expect it to happen either. If you ask why the Yan Kingdom cavalry came out of the mountains, I really can’t answer that, because I don’t know why either.”

"That landslide couldn't have failed to block the road; the pass must have been a complete ruin. But... but they really got out! I... I..."

Michelle, who was shaking like a leaf, could no longer continue speaking, because this sudden situation was so bizarre that it was terrifying. It defied common sense, was unrealistic, and was strange in every way.

The collapse could not have failed to bury the Yan Kingdom's army, yet only two days later, these Yan Kingdom people led their army out of Enzos in broad daylight. This made Michelle have a strange thought: perhaps, it was an undead legion that crawled out of hell.

"Useless trash! What are you trembling about?!" The fear that Michelle was showing made Saski feel very uncomfortable. Even if the Yan people really led their army out of Enzos, as a soldier of the empire, no one should be afraid of this.

Enraged, he kicked Michelle in the leg.

"Sir, why would these Yan people come out of Enzos at this time? This is really... very strange..." At this moment, Major General Takken under his command said with a deep frown.

"It's unbelievable, how did they do that?" Major General Phil was also puzzled.

Aside from the two of them, the commanders of the other divisions also rushed over at this time, and they were all whispering among themselves, with a look of surprise and uncertainty on their faces.

Listening to these buzzing whispers, Saski's brows furrowed with undisguised irritation, while the strategist Leo, who had been quietly pondering beside him, spoke in a low voice:

"Perhaps the collapse did not completely destroy the terrain. It was not as serious as we imagined. If the damage was not thorough and the mountain pass was not completely cut off, then the Yan people could have led their troops out."

As soon as he finished speaking, Phil shook his head and said, "But the intelligence we received said that the collapse was very serious, and even the main peak of Enzos had completely collapsed. In such destruction, it is impossible that the roads below were not buried."

“Then the intelligence was wrong,” Leo said in a deep voice.

“But the source of the information is the survivors of that battle. You know, they are all soldiers of the Sixth Army, and they were the firsthand witnesses of that battle. They would never give us wrong information,” Phil replied immediately.

Upon hearing this, Leo looked at Phil and explained with a serious face:

"Although the Battle of Enzos Mountain was short-lived, the mountain environment was extremely harsh and the combat conditions were terrible. Coupled with the pressure exerted by the Yan Kingdom and the tragic outcome of the battle, I believe that any soldier in that environment would have reached their worst physical and mental state. Therefore, I believe that this greatly affected their ability to perceive reality."

"Maybe...."

At this point, Leo shook his head slightly and sighed, "They really made the wrong judgment and brought us back the result they expected."

At this point, Phil nodded silently, while the other officers' expressions all turned serious. Now that the communications soldiers said it was an indisputable fact that the Yan people had come down from the mountain, Leo's statement was undoubtedly logical and reasonable.

But it was at this moment:

"There's no point in speculating anymore! Seeing is believing!"

"Whether the mountain path was destroyed, and how many troops the Yan Kingdom sent out of Enzos—we'll find out the answers to all these messy questions by going there!"

"Ha! If the Enzos Pass hadn't been blocked, wouldn't this be bad news for us?"

"No! This is obviously good news!" Saski pointed his index finger to the sky and said excitedly.
