In the South China Sea, on one of countless warships, a round table was set up on the deck. The people sitting around it all looked tense. Although the sun was shining and the sea breeze was blowing, it should have been a peaceful scene, but the atmosphere here was unusually heavy.
With a loud "bang"!
The round table was slammed down, and a bottle of Gels wine crashed to the ground with a "crack," shattering into pieces.
Angri curses followed immediately:
"What are you sea cucumbers doing all this way here? On vacation?"
"Why don't you go on vacation to the continent of Feni and let those savages serve you?! They'll lick your asses clean!"
"Isn't this what you like best? Why don't you go?"
The most offensive insult came from Marshal Augut of the Hungarian Sea Lion Fleet. He was tall and imposing, and his gloomy face was full of mockery. He stood with his arms crossed, looking down at the person sitting in the chair opposite him.
The person being scolded leaned back in his chair. Upon hearing the angry rebuke, he suddenly shook his head, causing his long, golden hair that had been hanging down to his forehead to fall onto his head, revealing a handsome face that was flushed red.
“Augut! You can’t slander us like that! We didn’t do such a thing!” Marshal Lukat, who was not yet thirty years old and came from the Rose Fleet of the Kingdom of Shenglu, retorted indignantly.
"Hahaha." August laughed unrestrainedly.
Lucatt grew increasingly embarrassed and said to the others at the table, "Don't listen to his nonsense!"
His lieutenant, Leto, was now filled with rage, furious at both his marshal's weakness and Auguste's arrogance. He could no longer contain himself and shouted angrily at Auguste:
"Augut! Your insults are nothing but a sign of your incompetence!"
"Isn't your Sea Lion Fleet supposed to be very strong? Why don't you just break through and land directly?!"
"You can't do it, and you don't dare to, so you're trying to show off by insulting your allies?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Augut's eyes widened, and he slammed his hands on the table, roaring:
"Do you even have the right to speak here?!"
"If you dare say another word, I'll cut out your tongue!"
He then looked at Lucat and sneered, "Kid! You, as a marshal, can't even control the mouths of your own men. You're right, you should all go home! Get out of here!"
Just as Leto was about to speak, Lucate turned and glared at him fiercely. Leto could only helplessly keep his lips tightly shut, but he clenched his fists tightly, his eyes seeming to spit fire.
"What else can we do? They have so many patrol boats in the coastal waters. I think we're going to have to return empty-handed this time..."
"We might as well take advantage of the good weather these next few days, return to base, gather more troops, and then come back again," Lucate said with a shrug, seemingly unconcerned.
“Ha, you think you can come back again? Emperor Figus sent you here to help us achieve great things. You’re going back empty-handed. Just wait to be dismissed!” Augut turned to look at a man by the ship’s railing, then turned to look at Lucate and said.
"I didn't expect them to have so many ships. The previous intelligence never mentioned this."
“None of you know either, right?” Lucate spread his hands and said to the others.
"have no idea....."
“The situation is indeed not good right now…” people began to speak one after another.
Although the others at the table came from various countries, their fleets did not include many ships; a few dozen would be considered quite a lot. Therefore, they had little say and were mostly just listeners.
The person who truly holds the power of discourse has not yet arrived, but it is expected that they will arrive in this sea area within a few days.
Their lateness undoubtedly indicates that they dispatched a large number of ships for this voyage, and coordination takes time. After all, the weather has been good almost the entire time since they set sail, and there has been no possibility of any unexpected situations.
But before the Sasiri fleet has even arrived, a situation has already arisen here.
Marshal Lukat, commander of the Rose Fleet of the Kingdom of Rising Lukat, recently had the idea of retreating. When he brought it up at today's meeting, it immediately aroused the anger of August of the Kingdom of Hungary.
Before setting sail, Augut had already made a pledge to their king, Saint Ister, that if he could not gain any benefits in that unfamiliar country, he knew that his official position would be over upon his return.
If this unexpected situation hadn't occurred, he would have been happy to see Lucart leave with his fleet, as his country could have gained more benefits. However, it was this unexpected situation that made Augut realize that if Lucart really left with his men, it would only make the subsequent operations more difficult.
Before them stood a large fleet constantly patrolling the waters near Nangang.
The sheer number of patrolling warships exceeded their expectations. Normally, there should have been even more warships at the port, but they couldn't get close because they had no way of knowing.
But without a doubt, this is already quite astonishing.
Approaching a large-scale operation without knowing the full story is definitely not a wise choice. That's why they chose to anchor their ships in waters far from the coast. Fortunately, they were well-prepared for the voyage, and the ships had enough fresh water and food.
But without a doubt, something big must have happened in that foreign land.
Normally, their own people who stayed there should have already set sail to pick them up, but they didn't. So it seems that those ships might not even be all of them.
There are many speculations, but no one dares to sail over to confirm them. Before the fleet of the Sasiri Kingdom arrives, no one dares to take the first step.
