As dawn breaks and night fades.
The salty, cold sea breeze, carrying the chill of late autumn and fine moisture, was like an invisible hand, caressing the deck of the Seraphim, while fine beads of sweat appeared on people's temples.
There were many figures on the deck, but their faces were somewhat blurred in the gray morning mist.
Only Isabella's fiery red fox fur coat stood out against the gray and white world.
"The weather is terrible today." Isabella frowned slightly as she looked at the thick fog rolling on the sea.
“Indeed, the fog in late autumn always comes suddenly. Hopefully it will dissipate soon.” Eddington, standing with his hands behind his back, nodded in agreement. “But at least we are finally about to reach our destination.”
“This long journey…” Eddington pinched his swollen brow and sighed almost imperceptibly, “It’s exhausting.”
Isabella glanced at him sideways and comforted him, "Alright, Eddington, don't worry too much."
Just as Eddington, whose secret had been exposed, was about to speak, a long, drawn-out whistle suddenly broke the silence.
Everyone looked up at the same time.
In the swirling morning mist, several points of light spread out, drifting aimlessly like ghosts in the fog.
People knew it was the light from the Yan Kingdom's receiving ship, but it was more unsettling than any ghost.
Even before it got close, the sheer height of the lights on the giant ship as it slowly emerged from the thick fog was enough to make everyone on board the Seraphim feel a suffocating sense of oppression.
It was like an ancient behemoth lurking in the fog, silently approaching the Sierra Nevada.
In comparison, the Serranier is also a super-large ocean-going vessel, and can even be called the pride of the nation, a crystallization of modern industry.
But now, the Silanil is like a frail feather floating on the sea.
It no longer brings any sense of security.
Even the golden lion bow statue, a symbol of courage and glory, paled in comparison to the shadow cast by the majestic steel behemoth opposite.
"laugh--"
Several strange sounds suddenly rang out, and the steel behemoth that tore through the thick fog slowly came to a stop in front of the Seranir.
Meanwhile, the people on the deck of the Serra Nier were already drenched in cold sweat.
This majestic sea monster was already intimidating from afar, but now that it has revealed its true form in front of us, a sense of fear has begun to spread among the crowd.
If there really is a majestic lion, then it is definitely not that golden lion statue.
Instead, it was this massive steel ship in front of them.
It came in with imposing force, like a lion silently approaching a frightened cat.
At this moment, even Queen Isabella, who was used to grand occasions, silently clenched her hands hidden under her fur coat, her heart beating much faster than usual.
"My God...this is a monster...how did they create it?"
Eddington, standing to the side, was slightly pale. He unconsciously pressed his hand to his chest and murmured rapidly as he breathed heavily.
He silently bit the corner of his lip, observing the steel behemoth with fear.
It stands majestically, like a mountain range lying prostrate on the sea.
The steel armor, gleaming with a cold metallic light, covered the entire surface, but the most striking feature was the castle-like turret, with its dark, gaping cannon barrels of unimaginable caliber, as if it were always ready to blast enemy ships apart.
Eddington suddenly realized that the barrel of that giant steel cannon was big enough to fit an adult.
What would happen if you were hit by one of its shells?
Eddington couldn't imagine what would happen if he were hit by such a shell.
He looked around, his heart pounding so hard it hurt.
But what is most frightening is not the steel behemoth, but the people on board.
In the churning mist, figures appeared above, all dressed in sharp black double-breasted long coats and carrying steel guns.
They stood silently by the railing, their eyes hidden in the shadows beneath their helmets, their faces so cold and stern that they seemed devoid of any human presence.
“General… these Yan people seem a little different from before…” James covered his mouth and said to Eddington in a low voice.
Eddington nodded silently, giving his answer in silence.
It is indeed different now, but even though the uniforms have changed, the suffocating sense of oppression is even stronger than before.
At that moment, accompanied by the roar of the winch turning, the steel behemoth opposite lowered its gangway.
Isabella took a deep breath, put on a polite smile, and reminded her:
"Ladies and gentlemen, please observe proper etiquette."
The ministers on deck nodded silently, but beads of sweat appeared on their foreheads.
"Pat-pat-pat".
The sound of synchronized footsteps came from above, like the metallic clang of steel colliding with each other.
But only three people came down.
Those were two privates carrying guns, and an officer walking in the middle.
Isabella immediately stepped forward and led her ministers to meet them.
"Welcome, Your Majesty."
The officer who stepped onto the deck politely removed his hat, smiled at Isabella, and even gave a slight bow.
This surprised Isabella, considering that the Yan people had been very impolite when the treaty was signed.
But I must say, this courtesy made her very happy.
She immediately returned the greeting with a bright smile.
After a few brief, polite exchanges, the handsome diplomat, who appeared to be around forty years old, put his hat back on and looked apologetic.
