“Perhaps the things on the ninth floor would love for us to kill the things on the outer eight floors, or perhaps the outer eight floors are restricting their movements.” Li Ming thought of a few things, but none of them seemed a bit abrupt. Suddenly, Li Ming thought of a word: “corpse collector. Perhaps this floor is inhabited by corpse collectors.”
The person responsible for collecting corpses is currently the only one who fits the description. However, even if they fit the description, it's not certain, and Li Ming isn't sure.
However, the most convincing explanation is that the residents here are corpse collectors.
Continuing onward, we walked through the ninth level of the ancient burial pit, but apart from the few footprints at the beginning, we found no other traces.
“There’s definitely something wrong here,” the black dog murmured. Nobody would believe there wasn’t something wrong here. “But what exactly is the problem? I can’t see anything suspicious about it.”
Li Ming tried to extend his divine sense, slowly covering everything. Under his divine sense, no living being could escape his divine eye.
Everything was clearly visible; there were crickets, frogs, ladybugs, and other insects lurking, but no trace of any large predators or ferocious beasts.
There are no burial pits on the ninth floor either. The scenery here is pleasant no matter how you look at it. If you ignore the eight burial pits outside, there is absolutely no problem living here.
But Piaopiao felt something was wrong.
Li Ming was completely baffled as to what exactly went wrong.
"Did you find anything?" the black dog asked.
Li Ming shook his head: "We haven't gained anything, but something strange is amiss. Could it be that the problems on the eighth floor have caused some uncontrollable issues on the ninth floor?"
"Could it be that the things on the ninth floor have been moved?" Green Ivy swung her little feet and asked a question. There's nothing here, so it's very likely that they've been moved.
"Woof woof woof..." The black dog didn't know how to respond for a moment. Although it made no sense, it also made some sense. "Should we leave here now? Or..."
Black Dog looked at Li Ming. To be honest, he wanted to leave the ancient burial pit as soon as possible. He had a feeling that this place was not simple, and his heart told him that it was very dangerous.
"Let's wait a few more days and see. I have a feeling that this place will bring me some surprises." Li Ming had a strong premonition that the ninth floor might bring him great surprises. "Let's be patient and see. If something is really wrong, we'll just leave."
Green Ivy and the black dog didn't speak, but nodded in agreement. They figured they could just run away if necessary.
They continued to wander around the ninth floor, a picturesque area that seemed to be in its own world, completely separate from the other eight floors.
A few days later, Li Ming was still wandering around the ninth floor: "This is not scientific. What's going on? Why does it feel so strange? Is there something we've overlooked? We must have overlooked something that we haven't discovered."
“But we’ve explored the entire ninth floor, and apart from that faint footprint, we haven’t found anything suspicious,” the black dog said.
“Let’s go take another look at that footprint.” Li Ming suspected there was something wrong with the footprint, but when they went back, the faint footprint was gone.
Suddenly, they felt a chill run down their spines.
If it were something real, it wouldn't be so scary. It's the unknown that's frightening. It always feels like the environment is ghostly and chilly.
They looked at each other, their skin crawling with goosebumps.
Because the footprints on the ground really disappeared without any warning; they were either buried by sandstorms or vanished without a trace.
Fortunately, all three of them saw it; otherwise, they would have thought it was a hallucination.
They exchanged a few glances, then ignored each other and continued wandering around the ninth floor, searching for anything that seemed promising, but they still couldn't find any clues.
Just as they were feeling utterly helpless and about to leave, the vanished footprint suddenly reappeared out of nowhere.
"This?" Green Ivy racked her brains but still couldn't figure it out. She scratched her head, still unable to understand. "Doggy, let's go up and take a look."
The black dog swayed and slowly walked toward the shallow footprints.
"Put your foot on the footprint and take a look," Li Ming said, glancing at the black dog.
"Why don't you try it?" Black Dog stared at Li Ming. This footprint was really inexplicable. He was afraid that sticking his foot out would cause unexpected danger, so he didn't dare to do anything dangerous.
Li Ming kicked the black dog, lifting it onto the footprint. Immediately, the black dog's body was slowly dragged away by some strange force. Green Luo, who was riding on the black dog, hugged it tightly, trying to leave, but her body was being pulled by the mysterious force.
Just as they were about to disappear, Li Ming quickly grabbed the dog's tail, and in an instant, they vanished without a trace, leaving no trace behind.
"Woof woof woof... I'm going to die, I'm going to die..." The black dog barked and tried to turn around and bite Li Ming. It was Li Ming who kicked him earlier, otherwise how could he have gotten involved in such a bizarre event?
"Quiet down, we've arrived at a new place." Li Ming looked around. This place was different from the ninth floor; this was a desert.
The desert stretched as far as the eye could see, filled with yellow sand and dust, and remained utterly deserted, without a single soul in sight.
Looking around, Green Ivy asked, "Where is this place? It's different from where we were before."
Li Mingdao said, "This should be the tenth layer, the tenth layer of the ancient burial pit." He had always thought that the ancient burial pit was based on the burial site rules of tombs, and usually had nine layers. He never expected there to be ten layers. It was really too strange.
