Chapter 14 Bring My Sword

The empress remained seated, but her lips moved slightly as she reached out her hand. A maid quickly handed her the script that had been placed on the tea table.

The opening scene was full of flashy lines, but as you watched, Wu Xiao's chest heaved with anger.

The inscription on the document stated that three days after his ascension to the throne, he would announce to the world that he would marry the ninth son of the Grand Tutor, thus beginning a happy union.

"So that's what he was planning."

Wu Xiao quickly understood the situation. So that's how it was. He wanted to use her to give birth to a child of the Imperial Preceptor's lineage so that the Imperial Preceptor's lineage could eventually become emperor and control the Wu Dynasty.

She sneered.

He frowned and asked, "Didn't the Imperial Advisor only have eight sons? Where did the ninth one come from?"

She has only been in the palace for a few days and doesn't know much. Could it be an illegitimate child?

"I'm asking you, answer me!" Wu Xiao shouted coldly. Although she remained seated and did not turn around, her voice carried an air of dominance.

All the maids knelt on the ground.

Wu Xiao's murderous intent surged: "If you don't talk, then I'll kill you all."

"The Imperial Preceptor has no ninth son." A maid, unable to withstand Wu Xiao's domineering aura, answered tremblingly.

"What happened?"

The maid continued, "He is a character fabricated by the Imperial Advisor. In fact, he is the ninth son. The meaning is already quite clear."

"I think you should just bear with it. The entire Wu Dynasty has been infiltrated by the power of the Grand Preceptor. No one is his match. Going against him is like lighting a lantern in a latrine."

"Yes, patience brings peace, retreating from the storm opens up a vast expanse, and preserving one's life is of utmost importance."

"Actually, the Imperial Advisor is quite good. Apart from not liking to bathe, having body odor, a little bit of athlete's foot, and a face full of wrinkles, there's nothing wrong with him."

After the other maids finished speaking, the hall immediately fell silent.

After a long while, Wu Xiao stood up, clenched his fists, and his cold voice echoed in the hall.

"Guards, bring me my sword!"
