Love
"Hmm..."
Looking at the dazzling array of electrolyte water brands on the shelf, He Zou was a little undecided and turned to ask him, "Guoguang, which one should we buy?"
Turning around, she realized that Tezuka was still on the phone, so she silently said to him, "It's okay."
Supermarkets in Germany typically close on Sundays, so Saturday was quite crowded. Although Tezuka was on a work call with Köber, he kept a portion of his attention on Kazusa amidst the crowd.
Hearing Hezou's question, he glanced down at the shelf, reached past her, took a dozen from the lower shelf, and put them into the cart in front of him.
He Zou blinked as she looked at the man who was still calmly talking on the phone—she just wanted to get him a bottle to drink on the way back.
Tezuka held his phone and silently asked her with his eyes, "What's wrong?" as if he didn't realize that his actions just now were suspected of nest building.
His overly natural demeanor made He Zou raise an eyebrow, wondering whether this person was unconscious in some way, or perhaps overly conscious.
Kazusa felt a slight warmth in her heart, but remained calm on the surface. She shook her head at Tezuka, then pointed to the phone in his hand, telling him to go ahead with his work, before turning back to continue inspecting the shelves.
She spotted the snacks she wanted to buy in the distance, but there were too many people there, making it inconvenient to push the cart. So she decided to go and get them herself.
Not wanting to interrupt Tezuka's call, Kanade quietly turned around, but as soon as she took a step, her wrist was suddenly grabbed.
He Zou turned around to look at him in surprise.
Tezuka had already let go of the hand pushing the shopping cart. He was still talking to the phone about work. It seemed that the problem Kerber mentioned was a bit tricky. He didn't look at her, his gaze was fixed on the front, and he said calmly into the phone with a serious expression: "Reject it. Don't schedule any business activities for the next period of time. Just focus on preparing for the French Open."
Kobel on the other end of the phone seemed quite agitated and spoke at length. Tezuka listened quietly, his expression cold and unmoved by Kobel's attempts to dissuade him.
He Zou waited for a while, but when he saw that the man was still holding her wrist and showed no sign of letting go, she was taken aback. Then she realized that this was a subconscious action of his.
His thumb even unconsciously rubbed against the skin on the inside of her wrist, the gentle pressure completely opposite to his expression when he spoke.
He Zou smiled, took back the step he had just taken, returned to his side, and pulled his hand down from his wrist, clasping it together.
Noticing the movement in his hand, Tezuka looked down at her, his face softening involuntarily. Because of the urgent work call, his eyes were filled with guilt as he looked at her.
He Zou tapped the back of his hand with her fingertip to indicate that it was okay, while slowly pushing the shopping cart away from the crowd with one hand, turning right into the quieter household goods section.
Tezuka quickened his pace in response to Korbel's suggestion, using more commanding language. He wanted to end the call quickly, but paused when he saw Kanade put a bottle of his usual shaving lotion into the shopping cart.
"Hello?" Kerber asked, puzzled, on the other end of the phone. "What's wrong? It's been quite noisy on your end. Where are you?"
"supermarket."
"You didn't do extra training but went grocery shopping instead?" Kerber exclaimed in surprise, then realized what he meant and asked with a questioning tone, "With Melodia?"
"ah."
“Okay, so that’s why you rejected the club without thinking it through this time. It’s because it disturbed your date.” Kerber shrugged and continued, “Although those who attacked and spread rumors have received Sato’s warning and the direction of their statements has begun to tone down, I still hope that the reporters from Japan also have a weekend off.”
"Please continue to keep an eye on this, Attorney Sato," Tezuka said calmly. "I'll be keeping an eye on things here."
Kobel didn't doubt this, after all, Tezuka Kunimitsu would never do something as intimate as being with a woman in public, and those reporters would have no chance to take pictures.
"Okay, that covers the urgent parts. We'll talk about the rest on Monday. Enjoy the weekend first." At the end, Kerber couldn't resist teasing him, "You spend time with your baby, I need to go spend time with mine too~"
Tezuka watched as Kanade enthusiastically searched for her target on the shelf, a barely perceptible smile playing on his lips, and said crisply, "Okay, see you Monday."
"Oh, right." Before Tezuka hung up the phone, Korbel remembered something else. "My Yodel knows you have a girlfriend, but he refuses to admit it. You can invite your Melodia over for dinner sometime."
Tezuka did not immediately agree, but said only, "I will ask for her opinion."
Unaware that she was being targeted, Kazusa walked among the shelves in the living area, searching for items on her mental list.
Towels, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo... Hmm, he uses mint-flavored toothpaste, and I didn't pay attention to the shampoo last time...
He Zou stopped by a shampoo shelf, reminiscing about her boyfriend's scent as she browsed the products.
Before she could even recall what that pleasant scent, so different from cedar, was, Tezuka took the shopping cart from her. He led her by the hand, past the shelf, and continued walking.
Just as He Zou was about to ask him to wait a moment, he heard him say, "The one we're using at home right now is fine."
These words startled her for a moment, then she blushed and calmly said "Oh," but she couldn't stop smiling.
He hasn't even used her shampoo yet, so how does he know if it's good or not?
"It seems Guoguang really likes this flavor."
Kanade chuckled to herself, but still held Tezuka's hand, making him stop. Seeing him look down at her, she pointed to another shelf, smiling with narrowed eyes, "But we're almost out of our supplies at home~"
Tezuka glanced at her fingertips, then reached into the various brands and scents of shampoo and precisely picked up a bottle of the family-sized one that Watanabe often used in the bathroom.
Kanade's gaze followed the bottle of shampoo into the shopping cart, which already contained many of Tezuka's items, finally giving her the real feeling that they would begin living together.
She had always accepted every intimate change in their relationship with equanimity. They had seen and comforted each other's bodies and desires, but at this moment, Kanade suddenly felt a little shy and fell silent because of the sudden shyness.
Tezuka noticed her expression and, after a moment's thought, knew what she was thinking. He didn't disturb her shyness. After putting the shampoo in the shopping cart, he naturally took her hand and asked, "What did you want to get? I'll go with you."
With her ears still red, Kanade turned her head to look at him, and suddenly said with a mischievous glint in her eyes, "Hmm... a chocolate liqueur."
Sure enough, upon hearing those words, Tezuka's usually composed gaze involuntarily darted to the side, and he awkwardly avoided her eyes. He quickly turned back to Kazusa, seemingly trying to cover his embarrassment. Amid her smile, he cleared his throat, calmly took her hand, and walked towards the chocolate.
He Zou looked at his expression curiously and asked, "Aren't you afraid of getting drunk?"
"You can get drunk this time." As he said this, his gaze drifted to her cheek, and his tone contained a faint smile.
The last time he was drunk, he couldn't help but touch her cheek. At that time, the two were not familiar with each other, but now... he had no scruples in front of her.
His words were almost an open admission that he wanted to do something to her.
He Zou glanced at the dozen bottles of electrolyte water he was using in the shopping cart, and a subtle feeling of being manipulated arose inexplicably within him—he was certain that he could see through the thoughts behind her every move, and that she would accept it.
This made He Zou feel both annoyed and amused. She couldn't help but pinch his arm, but afraid of using too much force, she only used a little bit of strength and couldn't pinch it, only the firm muscle.
Harmony: "..."
Tezuka, who was being "punished," was charmed by her slightly open mouth and somewhat dazed expression, and his eyes, hidden by the brim of his hat, curved slightly.
As an excellent medical student, He Zou immediately corrected her mistake. She slid her fingers up his little finger, touched the inner edge of the ulna, the weakest part of the muscle coverage, and gently pinched it.
A sudden, slight, dull pain and numbness made Tezuka's arm tense up, but he resisted the urge to pull his arm away and placed his left arm in her hand, remaining motionless.
Of course, the moment he felt the pain, He Zou released his hand, and at the same time let out a soft "humph," while gently clenching his fingers into a fist one by one, using professional techniques to help him relieve the negligible numbness.
Tezuka was completely charmed by his girlfriend's cuteness. A smile welled up in his heart, causing his Adam's apple to bob involuntarily. He then instinctively suppressed his laughter, leaving the smile trembling in his chest, even causing his shoulders to quiver slightly.
While still massaging the muscles around his ulna, Kazuna couldn't ignore his smile. She helplessly looked up and glared at him: "I said, Tezuka-kun..."
Seeing her use the same address she had used long ago, Tezuka felt a smile well up in his eyes again. He looked down at her, suppressing a laugh, and replied, "Hmm?"
Beneath the brim of his hat, where others couldn't see, the corners of his lips were noticeably upturned, forming a gentle and joyful arc, and his phoenix eyes sparkled with a captivating light.
Looking at that face and listening to his smiling voice, the annoyance in Kanade's heart vanished instantly, leaving only a full, sweet, and soft emotion, like cotton candy.
She was still rubbing his forearm with her fingertips, muttering softly, "You did that on purpose."
"Hmm." Tezuka always accepted Wakana's accusations with composure.
He did it on purpose, of course.
Of all the expressions of love, only what can be felt is true love. He was reserved, but he wanted to give Melodia definite love, so that she could feel it without any confirmation, just like she felt for him.
He may not be good with words, but when it comes to loving her, he wants to express it openly and wholeheartedly.
The slight dull pain in his arm had long since disappeared. Tezuka looked down at her still slightly wrinkled nose and felt the soft, warm touch still on his forearm. Her gentle movements felt like kneading his heart, a little itchy, a lot of palpitations.
“Melodia, it’s alright, it doesn’t hurt.” He took her fingertips in his hand and transferred his body heat, which had become even hotter with his smile, to her. His voice returned to normal, but was softer than usual. “Let’s go buy some liqueur chocolates.”
But He Zou changed her mind. She looked away and whispered, "...No, I don't want the filling."
“Okay, no alcohol filling.” Tezuka readily agreed.
Just as He Zou quietly breathed a sigh of relief, he heard him say another sentence—
"I will remain conscious."
"...Tezuka Kunimitsu!"
"cough."
