The weekend came in the blink of an eye. In the past, weekends and Mondays made little difference to Lin Yan, but since she started working in the company, weekends have become precious to her.
Before Lin Yan could figure out how to plan her weekend after her first job, she received a call from Liao Wen.
"Yan Yan, come out and play this weekend. Ji Mingyuan's stable has two new horses. It's a good time to go riding."
Horseback riding? This was an activity that Lin Yan had never experienced before, and she was indeed a little curious about it.
"Sure, I'll ask Lu Jinghuai if he wants to go this weekend."
It’s not that Lin Yan can’t go alone, but mainly because she and Lu Jinghuai are husband and wife after all. Lu Jinghuai’s friends invited them to the racecourse, and it would be a bit inappropriate for Lu Jinghuai not to go.
So when Lu Jinghuai came out of the study, Lin Yan briefly mentioned Liao Wen's invitation, and Lu Jinghuai raised his eyebrows and nodded in agreement.
The next day, early in the morning, the sun was not very strong even at this time of year in summer. It was exactly nine o'clock when Lu Jinghuai and Lin Yan arrived at the racecourse.
Lin Yan stopped the car and got out. Besides Ji Mingyuan and Liao Wen, there was also a familiar person walking towards her in the horse farm, Song Jingya.
Lin Yan's expression paused.
On that side, except for Song Jingya who was smiling, Liao Wen and Ji Mingyuan were a little embarrassed. Ji Mingyuan even touched his nose to avoid Lu Jinghuai's sight.
Song Jingya, however, acted as if nothing had happened. She ran to Lu Jinghuai's side with a smile, and directly pushed Lin Yan aside and stuck close to Lu Jinghuai.
"Brother! Are you surprised to see me?" She smiled with her eyes curved.
Lu Jinghuai distanced himself from Song Jingya and asked, "Why are you here?" instead of answering her question.
Song Jingya pouted, as if she was dissatisfied with Lu Jinghuai's ignoring of her questions, but she still answered Lu Jinghuai's questions obediently.
"I heard that Brother Ji's stable had sent a foal, so I came to see it." Song Jingya said a little aggrievedly: "Brother, can't I come?"
"No." Lu Jinghuai answered indifferently, but Song Jingya was already satisfied, and the smile on her face became even brighter.
Although Liao Wen was embarrassed, she couldn't pretend to know nothing. Seeing that Lin Yan didn't react after being pushed away by Song Jingya, she felt even more guilty.
She quickly went up to Lin Yan and took her hand, lowering her voice to apologize: "Yan Yan, I'm sorry, we didn't know Song Jingya would be coming today."
Over the years, Song Jingya has been following Lu Jinghuai, so Song Jingya is quite familiar with several of Lu Jinghuai's friends.
Especially Ji Mingyuan. The Ji family and the Song family have a cooperative relationship. Song Jingya didn't know how Ji Mingyuan invited Lu Jinghuai and his wife to the racecourse on the weekend.
Song Jingya called early this morning and asked to come to Ji Mingyuan's horse farm to play. There was no way Ji Mingyuan could refuse.
Lin Yan has become accustomed to Bai Yueguang appearing wherever Lu Jinghuai is, and she doesn't have any special thoughts.
"It's okay, Song Jingya is here, let's just have fun."
At most, Song Jingya just pestered Lu Jinghuai, which had no effect on her mood.
Liao Wen secretly glared at Ji Mingyuan, and Ji Mingyuan's face fell.
On the other side, Song Jingya didn't care about the little commotion here at all, and kept chattering around Lu Jinghuai all the way.
"Brother, do you still remember that the first time I got on a horse, you held the horse for me. Looking at your back, I felt particularly safe at that time."
Song Jingya gave Lin Yan a provocative look as she spoke, but Lin Yan pretended not to see it and even felt a little helpless.
[Don't look at me, I don't want to be part of the play.]
Lin Yan slowed down her pace and walked behind Lu Jinghuai and Song Jingya.
"Aren't you angry at all?"
Liao Wen noticed Lin Jiao's deliberate avoidance and was a little surprised. In the wealthy circle, marriages are basically arranged, and many men marry a wife of equal social status and keep a mistress in private.
But unification cannot be achieved openly, and those ladies and madams may appear magnanimous, but everyone knows that their so-called magnanimity is just an act.
But Lin Yan was completely different. She seemed really magnanimous. Even when she looked at Song Jingya, her eyes were exceptionally clear.
Lin Yan seemed to have heard Liao Wen's question, and she glanced sideways and blinked.
She chuckled and said, "It's not really about being generous, but I feel that if something is mine, then it's mine, and no one else can take it away. If it's not mine, then there's no point in me taking it away."
[It's obvious that Lu Jinghuai is not destined to be mine. I just need to be a tool and wait for Lu Jinghuai to file for divorce.]
Lu Jinghuai was being pestered by Song Jingya, and he heard Lin Yan's criticism clearly behind him, and paused.
Lu Jinghuai was somewhat displeased, and then sneered.
Why is he saying it so high-soundingly? It's simply because Lin Yan also does things for money. How could she bribe even Lu Jinghuai's wife with a mere 50 million?
Lu Jinghuai was inexplicably impatient and didn't want Lin Yan to be so contented.
He stopped and Song Jingya beside him didn't react for a moment.
Lu Jinghuai already looked at Lin Yan: "Come here."
Lin Yan was stunned for a moment after hearing these two simple words, but Liao Wen reacted immediately and pushed Lin Yan to the side of Lu Jinghuai.
Lu Jinghuai supported Lin Yan slightly to help her steady herself, then took her hand and said, "Pick one of the two new ponies from Ji Mingyuan's place. Consider it a welcome gift from Ji Mingyuan."
[No, Lu Jinghuai, you're really sick! It's enough for you and your white moonlight to be in love, why drag me into this?]
Lin Yan subconsciously tried to break free from Lu Jinghuai's hand, but Lu Jinghuai held it so tightly that she couldn't struggle free at all.
Ji Mingyuan also heard what Lu Jinghuai said. Although his face fell for a moment, he did not refuse.
He knew clearly that the pony he gave to Lin Yan was not a gift at all. It was clearly an apology for letting Song Jingya in.
Ji Mingyuan could only smile bitterly but agreed: "Yes, yes, the bloodlines of those two foals are quite good. Just tell me which one you like later, sister-in-law."
Although Lin Yan was still a little embarrassed, she had no choice but to agree since Ji Mingyuan said so.
While several people were talking, Song Jingya was forced to stand side by side with Lu Jinghuai, and did not notice that Song Jingya had fallen behind by a few steps. Song Jingya stared at Lin Yan's back, and the hatred in her eyes seemed to pierce Lin Yan.
Liao Wen turned her head and accidentally met his gaze, and her heart sank. Song Jingya also noticed her gaze and gave her a look of disgust and aversion.
Liao Wen paused and looked away.
After the Liao family went bankrupt, others saw Liao Wen as Ji Mingyuan's mistress, the kind that would never have a happy ending.
It was normal for a rich lady like Song Jingya to look down on her, so Liao Wen withdrew her gaze calmly.
