Chapter 43 Package
Kuncheng Military Region
Lu Huailin had just finished training and was on his way back to the dormitory.
Signalman Xiao Zhang, carrying a package and a remittance slip, happened to run into Lu Huailin: "Deputy Regiment Commander Lu, here's your package and remittance slip."
Lu Huailin took the package and said to Xiao Zhang, "Thank you."
Xiao Zhang smiled and said, "Deputy Regiment Commander Lu, I have other letters to deliver, so I'll be going now."
Lu Huailin nodded and took the package back to his dormitory.
I took out the letter and opened it; the fresh and elegant handwriting was revealed before my eyes.
The note read: "Dear Comrade Lu Huailin, I have arrived safely in Jinyang City. I am very grateful for your life-saving grace. Please help me deliver two bottles of the mushroom and meat sauce in the package to Dr. Shen."
Lu Huailin looked at the letter several times. Such a big piece of paper, and only a few words were written on it?
He opened the package, and inside were six bottles of mushroom meat sauce. At least they had a conscience and knew to give him two extra bottles.
While the other dormitory residents were not back, Lu Huailin locked the mushroom sauce in the cabinet.
Military Hospital
"Lu Huailin, what brings you here?" At the office door, Shen Yujie circled around him in surprise.
"You never come here unless you need something."
Lu Huailin raised his hand and held up the mushroom and meat sauce he was carrying, saying, "Comrade Gu asked me to bring this to you. Don't take it, I'm taking it." After saying that, he turned and walked out.
"Stop!" He strode up to Lu Huailin, took the mushroom and meat sauce, and said angrily, "You're trying to steal my stuff, how shameless!"
Back in his office, Shen Yujie couldn't wait to open the package. The aroma was rich, and he ate some with the spare chopsticks. The meat chunks were thick and fatty, and the taste was delicious.
Looking up at Lu Huailin, she asked in confusion, "Why aren't you leaving yet? Trying to mooch some of my mushroom and meat sauce? Don't even think about it. I haven't had meat in ages. It's Comrade Gu who's thinking of me."
Lu Huailin glanced at him and said, "You got yourself no meat to eat."
Shen Yujie looked at Lu Huailin with disdain and said, "What do you know? You're just a rough guy. My girlfriend has to cut pig feed and go to school. She's much more ambitious."
Lu Huailin glanced at him indifferently and said, "I didn't say she wasn't ambitious, nor did I look down on her, but she took your support to go to school without a second thought."
"You should be more careful. I'm going back to the military region now."
Lu Huailin stopped there.
Shen Yujie watched his retreating figure and muttered, "What a roughneck."
At the machinery factory, Gu Yihan adapted to working life, slacking off during work hours, chatting, and reading the newspaper.
Of course, there will be some minor frictions. There are 6 people in the office, and everyone has their own little thoughts. Some people even want to see her and Zhou Na become adversaries.
Gu Yihan herself wasn't one to meddle, and Zhou Na didn't seem to be one to compete.
"Xiao Na, how did your blind date go yesterday?" Wang Xiang asked curiously.
Speaking of this, Zhou Na said angrily, "Don't even mention it. Nothing has happened yet, and his mother said she wanted to have a boy. She said that once you marry into their family, you're part of their family and have to cut ties with your own family."

Wang Xiang was drinking water when she almost choked on it.

Wang Xiang laughed awkwardly, "Never mind, haha."
Zhou Na was in a particularly bad mood and left the office immediately.
Gu Yihan was completely confused. Wang Xiang whispered to her, "Zhou Na is the factory director's sister-in-law, no, his ex-sister-in-law."
"The factory director's ex-wife abandoned her husband and children for some so-called love and divorced the factory director. Zhou Na lives in the factory director's house to take care of the son left behind by her sister."
Wang Xiang looked at Gu Yihan with a suggestive gaze and said, "You know what I mean."
Gu Yihan was speechless. What did she mean by "she understands"? She didn't understand at all.

Gu Yihan understood; wasn't this just two women vying for one man? She didn't offer any opinion; she just listened to what they had to say.

She was promoted to a permanent position in her third month working at the machinery factory, becoming a true resident of Jinyang City.
After getting off work, Gu Yihan found Mao Mao and said to Grandpa Gu in the gatehouse, "Grandpa, can I borrow your bicycle for a bit?"
Grandpa Gu came out of the gatehouse and said, "Sure, you can ride it to work tomorrow."
With joy in her eyes, Gu Yihan said, "Thank you, sir."
Pushing his bicycle, he said to Mao Mao, "Do you want to come to school with me?"
Mao Mao wagged its tail happily and responded with "Woof, woof."
Gu Yihan took it as Mao Mao's agreement and said, "Then I'll ride the bike, and you can run by yourself."
After saying that, Gu Yihan got on her bicycle. She wasn't riding very fast, and Mao Mao chased after her.
After arriving at the school, I thought I would go directly to Teacher Shen's office to get my graduation certificate.
On the way there, I ran into Teacher Shen.
Teacher Shen turned around, saw her, and smiled, saying, "I just happened to have something to talk to you about."
With a hint of doubt in her eyes, Gu Yihan asked, "Teacher Shen, is something the matter?"
"Come to my house for dinner this weekend. I said I'd invite you over last time, it's been so long, it's time to keep my promise." Teacher Shen looked at Gu Yihan with an ambiguous expression.
Gu Yihan felt extremely uncomfortable under Teacher Shen's inexplicable gaze.
Gu Yihan could only say, "Okay, Teacher Shen."

Mao Mao kept barking at the shadowy area.
Gu Yihan looked in that direction with a puzzled expression. She could vaguely make out two people, a man and a woman, judging from their height.
"Mao Mao." Gu Yihan tried to soothe it by stroking its back. As they walked into Willow Alley, Mao Mao whimpered softly.
Helpless, Gu Yihan pushed her bicycle alongside Mao Mao, saying, "Are you going to interfere with other people's dating lives?"
"Brother Zixin, I wouldn't be able to go to school if it weren't for you." Lin Fang's soft voice reached Gu Yihan's ears.
"Study hard, and I'll marry you after you graduate high school. I promise to get promoted so you can join my unit as soon as possible." The clear male voice was exceptionally loud in the quiet space.
"Woof, woof,"
Lin Fang and the one named Zi Xin looked at Mao Mao and Gu Yihan together.
Gu Yihan's face flushed red instantly. She really didn't mean to eavesdrop, but it was dark and the other person couldn't see her blushing.
With a choked voice, Lin Fang whispered, "Sister Xiaohan, could you please not tell anyone?"
“I don’t have that much to do.” Gu Yihan said, then grabbed Mao Mao’s ear and said, “I’ll teach you to mind your own business. You can sleep in the doghouse by yourself tonight.”
Gu Yihan didn't even glance at the two of them and went straight home.
