Chapter 330 Disloyalty, Injustice, and Filial Piety
"Lu Huailin, you're a heartless ingrate, worse than an animal."
Even crows know to feed their parents, but you've forgotten your mother after getting married.
“They watched helplessly as she beat her own mother.”
With her eyes wide with rage, Lu's mother clenched her fists and pounded on Lu Huailin's chest, roaring all the while.
Lu Huailin stared silently at his unreasonable mother, his face tense, feeling as if a thorn had pricked his heart.
This is her mother, using such vicious words and thoughts to speculate about him.
"Mom, since I'm so worthless in your eyes, just pretend you never had a son like me."
"You're talking nonsense! You think you can cut ties with me? No way!"
"I will not do as you wish. Do you and your husband still want a peaceful life? As long as I am here, there will be no peace at the door."
Looking at his unreasonable mother, Lu Huailin raised his hand and rubbed his aching temples.
He said sternly, "Mom, can you please stop being so unreasonable!"
Upon hearing this, Lu's mother pinched Lu Huailin's wrist hard with her fingernails to vent her anger.
She felt that Lu Huailin wanted to get rid of her because he thought she was old and useless.
Thinking of this
As Lu's mother scratched at his rolled-up sleeves with her long fingernails, tears streamed down her face.
She wasn't just heartbroken by Lu Huailin's favoritism towards Gu Yihan.
Furthermore, he didn't take her seriously at all, and just indiscriminately accused her of causing trouble.
Gu Yihan looked calmly at Lu's mother, who was going crazy, and said in a completely flat voice, "I will not let Hao Hao go to your house in the future!"
Upon hearing his mother's words, Hao Hao quickly grasped her hand tightly and nodded in agreement, saying, "Yes, I won't go again."
Upon hearing this, Lu Huailin looked at his wife, opened his mouth as if to say that his father genuinely liked Hao Hao.
When he saw the chilling coldness in Gu Yihan's eyes, his throat bobbed, but he ultimately said nothing.
Lu's mother suddenly turned her head, glaring fiercely at Gu Yihan, and then sneered, "You'd better remember what you said."
"Never set foot in my house again in this lifetime."
She simply didn't believe that Gu Yihan would be willing to part with Lao Lu's retirement savings.
Otherwise, they would never have allowed Lu Huailin and Hao Hao to go back regularly.
Her purpose was obvious.
It's just that they can't bear to part with the savings the elderly couple has.
Upon hearing this, Gu Yihan chuckled and glanced at Lu Huailin, whose face was grim.
He said coldly, "Do you think I'd want to go to your house?"
"If it weren't for Lu Huailin's sake, who the hell do you think you are to me!"
Then, his gaze swept over Lu Huailin, who was standing to the side, and he said, "I hope you can finish this before dinner!"
After saying that, she took Hao Hao's hand and went upstairs.
She lost her appetite for lunch; she was too angry to eat anything else.
With trembling hands, Lu's mother pointed at Gu Yihan's retreating figure, then suddenly turned around and grabbed Lu Huailin's arm tightly.
He threatened, "Lu Huailin, you must divorce her."
“If you dare not divorce me, I will publish a statement in the newspaper criticizing you for encouraging your wife to beat her own mother.”
"I'd like to see if the army will accept someone as disloyal, unjust, and unfilial as you!"
Upon hearing this, Lu Huailin's face suddenly turned cold. He flung her hand away and said coldly, "Mom, do you hate me that much?"
"Do you only feel happy when I'm separated from my wife and children?"
"Or are you resentful that I'm happier than my older brother, and you're standing up for him?"
After saying that, without looking at Lu's mother's guilty expression, he walked past her and went straight to the sofa, picked up the phone on the small table, and dialed a number.
Before Lu's father could speak, Lu Huailin recounted everything that had happened at home, including his mother's threats.
After calming herself down, Lu's mother suddenly overheard Lu Huailin calling his father to complain.
A hint of sarcasm flashed in his eyes as he walked directly to the sofa and sat down.
She wasn't afraid at all; Mr. Lu was retired now. He couldn't possibly do anything to her over such trivial matters.
At most, I'll give her a mild scolding.
Lu Huailin looked up at his mother, hung up the phone, and turned to sit down on the sofa opposite him.
He said in a low voice, "Dad will come to pick you up in a bit."
Upon hearing this, Lu's mother asked Lu Huailin with a half-smile, "Was it thanks to you that your father sent me to the Northwest last time?"
Lu Huailin remained expressionless and did not reply.
He simply couldn't understand why the mother and son had reached a point where they were always at odds with each other.
When Lu Huailin did not explain, Lu's mother assumed that her guess was true.
Thinking of the suffering she endured in the Northwest, and her lame leg.
His voice suddenly rose: "Don't think you can threaten me by contacting your father."
"As long as you don't divorce that bitch, I won't let you off the hook."
Lu Huailin didn't say a word, just pursed his lips and looked at her coldly.
No matter how much her mother scolded him, threatened him, or said anything, he remained silent.
Feeling bored, I could only shut up and sit quietly on the sofa waiting.
More than an hour later
Mr. Lu strode in with a serious expression, glancing at Mrs. Lu.
He coldly uttered a single word: "Go."
Mother Lu turned her head and snorted coldly. She stood up abruptly and limped out.
Seeing that his wife had left, Mr. Lu turned to his youngest son, a determined look flashing in his eyes.
"I really didn't expect your mother to become more and more insane."
He then added, "I'll go to the Civil Affairs Bureau with your mother to get a divorce later, and I'll publish a notice in the newspaper tomorrow to sever ties with her."
Lu Huailin suddenly stood up, stunned by his father's words.
"Dad, you want to divorce Mom?"
"Well, that way your mom won't keep coming to the family compound to make unreasonable demands."
After saying that, Mr. Lu turned and walked towards the door.
Lu Huailin quickly followed, helped him to the entrance of the courtyard, and personally watched him get into the passenger seat.
...
At the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau
Lu's mother and father got out of the car at the same time and looked at each other across the Jeep.
Looking at the surrounding environment and buildings, Lu's mother frowned slightly. It was the Civil Affairs Bureau.
He asked in confusion, "Why did we stop here?"
Mr. Lu did not explain, but held the divorce documents he had prepared in advance.
He stepped forward, grabbed Lu's mother's arm, and quickly walked into the divorce registration office on the first floor.
Before Lu's mother could react, he handed her the documents and said coldly, "Comrade, let's get a divorce."
The clerk was taken aback when he saw Mr. Lu's full head of white hair, wondering why he was so old and still wanted a divorce.
He reached out and took the documents: "Sir, are you getting a divorce?"
Mrs. Lu looked at Mr. Lu in disbelief, her lips trembling, and asked haltingly, "You...you want to divorce me?"
The staff member carefully checked the documents, and when they saw the position that Mr. Lu held before his retirement, their hands trembled uncontrollably.
She cautiously glanced at her father, who had a serious expression, and didn't dare to ask any questions. She quickly filled out the divorce papers.
When Lu's mother saw that Lu's father didn't say a word, a feeling of fear and apprehension suddenly overwhelmed her.
