Chapter 170 Discharge from the Hospital
Gu Yihan threw off the covers, quickly dressed, put on a menstrual pad, and got off the delivery bed.
Grandma Gu was startled by her granddaughter's agility and quickly walked to her side, holding the child in her arms.
She asked worriedly, "Be careful, you just gave birth, you can't ruin your body like this."
Gu Yihan didn't say anything, but took Grandma Gu's arm and walked towards the exit of the delivery room.
When the nurse saw Gu Yihan's actions, she strode forward to stop her.
With a frown, Yi said with dissatisfaction, "What are you doing? You're just weighing the child?"
Gu Yihan instinctively shielded Grandma Gu, who was holding the child, behind her.
Nurse Shi, holding another woman's baby, walked to the young nurse's side and chimed in, "That's right, it's just a basic check-up."
Gu Yihan looked coldly at the nurse and said sternly, "Are you deaf? I said you don't need it."
The nurse said, "How can you bite the hand that feeds you? You don't appreciate a kind heart!"
Gu Yihan's eyes darted back and forth between the two nurses in front of her, and she sneered, "Whether you have good intentions or not, only you know the truth in your hearts."
Upon hearing this, the young nurse glanced at Nurse Shi instinctively, then turned to look at Gu Yihan, and shouted guiltily, "Don't make false accusations!"
There were four pregnant women in the delivery room, but only two doctors were available to deliver their babies; they were extremely busy.
The doctor who had just delivered Gu Han's baby was comforting the pregnant woman in labor when he heard the nurse's shout and angrily said, "Quiet, this is the delivery room."
The nurse looked aggrieved and said, "Dr. Lan, the newborns haven't even had their check-ups yet, but they insist on being discharged."
Dr. Lan glanced at Gu Yihan, who was standing to the side, and realized that she had gotten out of bed by herself at some point.
Slowing down his tone: "If you're worried about the children, you can accompany them the whole time."
"After all, the child was born in the hospital, so our hospital also has to be responsible for the child."
Gu Yihan looked directly into the other person's eyes and said coldly, "I said I wouldn't do it. If there are any problems, we'll take responsibility ourselves."
Dr. Lan was surprised that Gu Yihan was so stubborn and didn't care about the child's health at all.
Another doctor who delivered the baby stopped Dr. Lan from getting angry.
He smiled and said, "Since the child's parents don't care, we can't force them, can we?"
Gu Yihan nodded to the doctor who had spoken up for her and said, "In that case, can we leave now?"
Dr. Lan now has absolutely no good impression of Gu Yihan; she has no sense of responsibility towards the child whatsoever.
Since they themselves aren't worried, why should she care?
The pregnant woman, who was in labor, was experiencing waves of abdominal pain. She said, "Doctor, I feel like my stomach is cramping."
Dr. Lan didn't have time to deal with Gu Yihan; she quickly examined the pregnant woman to see how many centimeters dilated she was.
Another doctor who delivered the baby chimed in, "The mother needs to be observed in the hospital for 24 hours to prevent her bladder from being compressed during childbirth and unable to urinate."
The young nurse and the nurse holding the child looked intently at Gu Yihan and nodded repeatedly.
Gu Yihan had a feeling that the two midwives had ulterior motives, so she decided to leave the delivery room first, no matter what.
Gu Yihan and her grandmother exchanged a glance, and she deliberately said, "Grandma, let's go to the ward first."
The nurse's eyes lit up at the words and she said, "I'll take you to the ward."
Outside the delivery room
Lu Huailin paced anxiously back and forth in the hospital corridor.
Xiao Wu looked on, feeling dizzy: "Commander, don't worry, your wife will definitely be fine. She'll definitely give you a big, healthy son."
Upon hearing this, Lu Huailin quickly interrupted, "What nonsense are you talking about? Your sister-in-law likes girls."
Xiao Wu stared wide-eyed at Lu Huailin: "The regimental commander doesn't like boys either?"
Lu Huailin glared at Xiao Wu but didn't say anything.
Who says he doesn't like boys? Of course he hopes his wife will give birth to a boy.
That way, they can join the army and defend their country just like me in the future.
But his wife prefers daughters, so his son is definitely not as important as his wife.
Seeing that Lu Huailin didn't speak, Xiao Wu assumed that he also liked girls, so he gave a thumbs up and praised, "Commander, I admire you."
Lu Huailin ignored Xiao Wu and stared intently at the door of the delivery room. After thinking for a moment, he walked over and was about to put his ear to it to listen to what was happening.
"Crunch."
The delivery room door was opened by a nurse.
Grandma Gu carried the baby in one arm and helped Gu Yihan out of the delivery room with the other.
Lu Huailin was stunned and bewildered when he saw Gu Yihan. Why did his wife come out on her own?
He quickly went over, picked up his wife, and whispered, "Wife?"
Gu Yihan pressed her head tightly against Lu Huailin's chest, tugged at his clothes, and whispered, "Honey, let's get out of the hospital right away."
Upon hearing this, Lu Huailin paused, glancing at the nurse leading the way.
Although I don't know what's going on, I know that listening to my wife is always the right thing to do.
Lu Huailin carefully held Gu Yihan in his arms and turned to instruct Xiao Wu, "Xiao Wu, go and complete the hospitalization procedures."
Although Xiao Wu was puzzled, he immediately replied, "Okay, Commander."
The nurse was stunned by Xiao Wu's address of "team leader" and could only watch helplessly as Xiao Wu walked away.
Her voice trembled as she looked at Lu Huailin, who was dressed in a gray Zhongshan suit, and asked haltingly, "You... are you a soldier?"
Lu Huailin also realized the problem at this moment. He gave her a cold look and carried Gu Yihan towards the parking lot.
Nurse's Office
"Smack."
The young nurse was slapped to the ground by Nurse Shi.
"Useless! You can't even do something this simple?"
The young nurse, supporting herself on the ground, looked up at Nurse Shi with a blank expression: "Don't go too far! You actually threatened me to switch the baby with the military wife's child."
Nurse Shi walked up to her, leaned down, grabbed her chin, and said sarcastically, "So what if I went too far? What can you do to me?"
The nurse's eyes flashed as she looked towards the door: "Shi Lan, you're just bullying me because Nurse Cao is your aunt."
Nurse Shi: "So what?"
The nurse said, "Aren't you afraid I'll report you?"
Shi Lan gave the nurse a cold look.
He scoffed, "Go ahead! It didn't even work out anyway. And even if it had, wouldn't it have been your doing?"
The nurse was trembling with rage, and roared hoarsely, "Shi Lan, you will die a horrible death, you will be punished!"
Nurse Cao, who had been standing at the door listening for a long time, kicked the door open.
"Bang."
The office door was kicked open forcefully by Head Nurse Cao, who gave the junior nurse a cold look: "Get out."
The young nurse glanced at Shi Lan with obvious satisfaction, gave a sarcastic smile, and walked straight out.
Shi Lan was startled by the sudden appearance of Nurse Cao, and she stammered, "Auntie...
Nurse Cao slowly walked up to Shi Lan and, without saying a word, slapped her niece twice.
