Chapter 216 Ministry of Industry

Chapter 216 Ministry of Industry

As Gu Yihan parked the car, Tie Dan carried a small stool out of the living room.

She glanced at Grandma Gu's busy figure in the kitchen and smiled gently. Hao Hao is almost ten months old and cannot be out of the sight of adults.

We are very grateful to Tiedan for frequently coming to our house to play with Haohao.

Smiling, she walked over, reached out and patted his head, took his little hand, and said, "Come on, come inside with Auntie."

Tie Dan tilted his head back, a shy look on his face, and obediently said, "Auntie, I'll play with my little brother."

Gu Yihan smiled and nodded.

After entering the house, she bent down, hugged the little guy, and kissed his cheeks several times, making Hao Hao laugh heartily.

Then place it on the mat.

He smiled and told Tie Dan to play with Hao Hao.

Gu Yihan turned around, took out a bag of chocolates from the cabinet, and while Hao Hao was playing with the tin frog, she stuffed it directly into Tie Dan's pocket.

Seeing his hand instinctively reach into his pocket, Gu Yihan gently pressed down on Tie Dan's hand and whispered with a smile, "It's chocolate, don't let Hao Hao see it."

Upon hearing the name "Chocolate," Tie Dan suddenly looked up at Gu Yihan.

When he was five years old, Deputy Battalion Commander Ding brought him back chocolates as a gift after a mission.

When the stepmother saw it, she stomped on it and smashed it, angrily scolding the father for not knowing the value of money and buying such expensive snacks for such a young child, which she considered a waste of money.

From then on, chocolate became an obsession for him. He worked hard to collect firewood and sell it so that he could buy a piece of chocolate that belonged to him.

Seeing the surprised look on Tie Dan's face, Gu Yihan laughed: "How about your aunt gives you a task?"

Tie Dan nodded quickly: "Auntie, please tell me, Tie Dan guarantees to complete the task."

Gu Yihan's gaze lingered on Gou Dan's lips for a moment.

This is because I have a sore throat; I have such a big blister on my lip.

She smiled and said, "Auntie is going to the kitchen for a bit. Tie Dan, can you watch Hao Hao for me?"

Tie Dan waved his small hand generously and said, "Auntie, you go ahead, I'll take care of Hao Hao here!"

Gu Yihan smiled and nodded, then turned and walked towards the kitchen, where she saw green peppers and meat on the stove.

She hugged Grandma Gu's arm and said sweetly, "Grandma, thank you for your hard work."

Grandma Gu smiled and glanced at her little granddaughter.

He laughed and said, "It's not hard work, but I'm very grateful to Tiedan for helping me out."

Gu Yihan smiled and nodded in agreement.

"Xiao Han, Deputy Battalion Commander Ding has gone on a mission. Grandma wants Tie Dan to stay home for dinner." Grandma Gu asked her granddaughter in a consultative tone.

Gu Yihan didn't mind, after all, Tiedan had helped the family a lot. She glanced at the chili peppers that Grandma Gu had just poured into the pot.

"Grandma, I'm going to go to the yard to cut some chives and make a stir-fry of chives and eggs."

After saying that, he started looking for a sickle to cut chives in the kitchen.

Grandma Gu waved the spatula, stirring the vegetables, and asked curiously, "Do you want to eat chives and eggs?"

When Grandma Gu's question reached Gu Yihan's ears, she had just pulled a sickle from the pile of firewood.

She smiled and said, "Grandma, I think Tiedan is a bit too hot-tempered and can't eat too many chili peppers."

Upon hearing this, Grandma Gu turned around in surprise and saw her granddaughter about to go into the yard, so she grabbed her arm.

"Who told you that Tiedan has a fever?"

Tie Dan comes to Hao Hao's house every day to spend some time with him.

Does she not know if I have internal heat or not?

Gu Yihan turned to her grandmother and smiled, saying, "I saw it with my own eyes; there's such a big blister on my lip."

As he spoke, he pointed to his lips and gestured to the spot where Tie Dan had blisters from the inflammation.

Upon hearing this, Grandma Gu slapped her granddaughter's arm.

He said irritably, "Tie Dan's lip was cut by a tree branch when he fell. Luckily, his wife from the family compound saw it and put it back on for him, otherwise there would have been a dent."

Gu Yihan was completely stunned by her grandmother's words!

Worried that she might have misunderstood, she whispered, "Grandma, didn't you go to the hospital?"

Grandma Gu was holding a plate in one hand and a spatula in the other, scooping food into a pot. When she heard her granddaughter's question, she smiled.

He said, "Don't be so fussy. Every child bumps and scrapes themselves."

"The registration fee alone costs five cents, and seeing a doctor and getting medicine also costs money. If you don't have a fever or smoke, wouldn't it be a waste of money to go to the hospital?"

Seeing Grandma Gu's indifferent expression, Gu Yihan couldn't help but shiver. Fortunately, she had worked hard in school and managed to leave Gu Family Village.

Otherwise, she would have to see a doctor for this discomfort.

In their eyes, this was seen as being pretentious, as if one should stay home and endure the illness unless it was life-threatening.

Even life-threatening illnesses no longer require a trip to the hospital.

Medical technology wasn't advanced enough back then, so even if you went there, they couldn't help you. You just had to stay home, endure the pain, and wait to die.

Just as the food was served, Lu Huailin stepped into the living room right on time.

He scooped up Hao Hao, who was reading a comic book with Tie Dan, and went straight to sit down next to his wife: "Honey, I heard your factory is doing quite well."

Gu Yihan placed the bowl of rice in front of Lu Huailin.

She glanced at him sideways, a hint of doubt in her eyes: "The business is doing well? Who told you that?"

How could she not know that the business was doing well? The textile factory's recent revenue was no different from previous years.

"Oh, my friend from the Industry Bureau said your factory has earned a lot of foreign exchange through its cooperation with the provincial capital, and they've already placed two additional orders."

As Lu Huailin carefully fed Hao Hao vegetable and egg noodles with a spoon, he looked up at his stunned wife and asked, "You don't know?"

Gu Yihan shook her head: "Ever since the factory started cooperating with the garment factory in the provincial capital, their costs and expenses are no longer processed through our department."

Lu Huailin asked in surprise, "Doesn't your accounting department account for the factory's raw material purchases?"

Although he wasn't a professional accountant, he at least knew that all the big and small things that cost money in the factory had to go through the accounting department.

Just like the logistics department of their army, every expenditure must be checked one by one. They know even if a cautious mouse comes and loses a few hairs.

Gu Yihan snorted coldly: "It seems that the accountant from the provincial capital had already interfered with the textile factory's accounts before he even arrived."

Seeing that his wife was in a bad mood, Lu Huailin quickly changed the subject and said with a smile, "Secretary Jiang from your factory has submitted a transfer application."

"If we succeed, we'll think of your textile factory first whenever there's something good in the future."

"Which factory does Secretary Jiang want to work for?" Gu Yihan swallowed the rice in her mouth and asked in a neutral tone.

Lu Huailin didn't think much of it: "He wants to work in the Ministry of Industry."

Gu Yihan: "Is the Ministry of Industry developing better than the textile factory?"

Lu Huailin glanced at his bewildered wife and laughed.

"They are not at the same level. The Ministry of Industry is under the unified management of the central government and is the next level of leadership above the textile factory."

Seeing that the two were talking nonstop, Grandma Gu tapped the table and said, "Hurry up and eat. The food is getting cold. You can talk after you finish eating."

Gu Yihan picked up a piece of meat and placed it in Tie Dan's bowl, who was eating in silence. She smiled slightly at Grandma Gu and said, "I'll listen to you, Grandma."
