Chapter 76 Women's Bicycles
Gu Yihan was unaware that Qi Shuhui was a person from a later timeline, while she herself had traveled from a parallel universe.
Gu Yihan discovered that Lu Huailin, aside from his identity as a soldier, was serious and cold on the outside, but was still somewhat childish towards her.
She looked at him with amusement and said, "You hate Qi Shuhui so much that you don't even give Commander Lin any face."
The two walked side by side, and Lu Huailin didn't say a word until they entered the house.
Gu Yihan ignored him and let him do whatever he wanted. She was angry too, so she walked straight past Lu Huailin towards the bedroom.
Lu Huailin moved with the speed of a leopard, picking up Gu Yihan and placing her on the bed. He rolled over and pinned her down, his eyes full of grievance: "I hate the way he looks at you."
Gu Yihan felt uncomfortable under Lu Huailin's aggrieved gaze, knowing it was his possessiveness at play, and her anger subsided.
Gu Yihan wrapped her arms around Lu Huailin's neck and said with a slight smile, "He's already married, and he really likes his wife. Why are you jealous?"
Lu Huailin looked down at Gu Yihan's fair face and said, "My wife is just too beautiful. The guys in the army are all rough and uncultured."
Upon hearing Lu Huailin's words, Gu Yihan recalled a saying from later generations: "After three years in the army, even a sow can rival Diao Chan in beauty."
She quickly shook the thought out of her head.
Seeing that Gu Yihan was still distracted, Lu Huailin lowered his head and gently bit her earlobe.
Before Gu Yihan could react, he released his strength and hugged her to calm his rage.
Gu Yihan shrank back as she was bitten. She instinctively tried to push Lu Huailin away, but his weight almost suffocated her.
Gu Yihan raised her hand and patted Lu Huailin on the back, saying, "Are you trying to murder him? To find a new wife?"
Lu Huailin: "..."
Lu Huailin picked up Gu Yihan and flipped her over to the side: "I'm too tired from the car ride today, I'll let you go."
"Let's go to sleep early. I'll go with you to buy a bicycle tomorrow, and you can ride it to work." After saying that, he closed his eyes and pretended to sleep.

"Is Commander Lu's wife planning to buy a bicycle?"
Gu Yihan looked at the woman, who appeared to be around forty years old and dressed in dark gray, with a puzzled expression upon hearing the voice.
The other person walked up to Gu Yihan's bicycle and said, "You can just call me Sister-in-law Li. My husband is Political Commissar Li, and he and your husband are in the same regiment."
Gu Yihan couldn't be enthusiastic towards people she didn't know well, and simply said, "Sister Li."
Li's sister-in-law didn't care about Gu Yihan's coldness. Looking at the bicycle, she said, "You're still young. You should buy a bicycle that's convenient for men to use."
"This women's bicycle you bought is convenient for us women, but the men in the family can't stretch their legs properly."
Gu Yihan was genuinely amused and exasperated: "I spend my own money, I can buy whatever I want, how do I use it? You tell me!"
Sister-in-law Li's face also turned cold as she said, "It's like a good deed being wasted on a fool. I really don't know where Commander Lu married such a spendthrift..."
"Shut up! You're giving me the nerve. Who do you think you are? Do I even know you? You come here and start spouting nonsense. Do you live by the sea? Why are you meddling in other people's business?" Gu Yihan said sternly.
Lu Huailin had just finished buying clothes for Gu Yihan when he hadn't yet reached her side.
Hearing Gu Yihan's cold voice, he thought he had been bullied, so he strode over and checked her over: "What happened? Are you hurt?"
When Sister-in-law Li saw Lu Huailin coming over, she said directly, "Commander Lu, it's not that I'm criticizing you."
"What's the use of buying this women's bicycle? The wife you married is really no good at managing the household. Not only is the cost of firewood and rice high, but she's not as good at managing money as my sister-in-law."
Upon hearing what Political Commissar Li's wife said, Lu Huailin's expression immediately turned cold: "Sister-in-law, I'm happy to spend money on her. You yourself are a child bride, and no one cares for you. My wife isn't."

After saying that, he took out his money and handed it to the saleswoman: "We'll buy this women's bicycle."

Sister-in-law Li felt a pang of heartache watching the two of them pay with the money and tickets. She had long had her eye on Commander Lu and wanted to marry him to her sister-in-law.
She had watched her sister-in-law grow up and doted on her like a daughter. She never expected that Commander Lu would be snatched away by some outsider.
"Commander Lu, you'll regret this wasteful woman later." After saying this, Sister Li stormed off in anger.
Even Gu Yihan, with her good temper, was furious. She said to Lu Huailin, "What kind of people are these? Do I have to put up with other people's attitudes just to buy something?"
Seeing Gu Yihan's chest heaving with anger, Lu Huailin gave her a deep look, patted her back, and said, "I'll talk to Political Commissar Li tomorrow and ask him to control his wife."
"Don't be angry. Come on, let's go get the bicycle stamped and registered. We'll ride it back later, not with them."
The stamp on the bicycle cover was done quickly, and the two men came out of the police station in no time.
Lu Huailin handed the clothes he was carrying to Gu Yihan and said, "I didn't buy you any clothes when we got our marriage certificate, so I'll buy you a couple of outfits first."
Gu Yihan took the clothes, but then realized that the wedding banquet hadn't been held yet. She didn't want to cook, and in this day and age, she couldn't invite guests to state-run restaurants; she'd be labeled a bourgeois.
As Lu Huailin rode his bike, Gu Yihan thought for a moment, then put her arm around his waist and said, "I'm not a good cook, so let's not have a banquet, okay?"
"Not holding a banquet? I've already not given you a proper wedding. If we don't hold a banquet, it'll be too unfair to you," Lu Huailin said, shaking his head.
“I don’t feel wronged. Neither of our elders can be there, so it doesn’t matter whether we have a banquet or not. Besides, as long as we’re doing well, that’s all that matters.”
As Gu Yihan spoke, she stroked Lu Huailin's waist and abdomen, finding it very pleasant to the touch.
Lu Huailin, unable to resist Gu Yihan's teasing, said directly, "Whatever my wife says, we'll do as you say."
