Chapter 107 The Noisy Man

Huang Guiming is the youngest in the group. He graduated last year and is 19 years old this year. The others are mostly 20 years old or older.

"Brother Jiancai, when we get to the city, will we stay at a guesthouse? I've never stayed at a guesthouse before in my life."

Huang Guiming felt that everyone was just walking with their heads down, which was so boring. He suggested they chat together. It takes more than two hours to walk from the village to the city.

"Yes, Uncle's house is too small to accommodate so many people. We'll go to Qinqin's house first, and then go to the guesthouse."

"Are those guesthouses expensive? Jiancai, have you guys been there?"

The two-hour journey was mostly spent listening to Huang Guiming's chatter.

When they arrived at Huang Qinqin's house, Huang Jiancai finally breathed a sigh of relief.

I don't know where Huang Guiming got so many questions from. He talked the whole way without even drinking a drop of water.

Huang Jiancai felt like his throat was on fire, but Huang Guiming was completely unaffected. Young people are indeed much healthier.

When Huang Qinqin saw Huang Jiancai and the others arrive, she quickly invited them to sit down and poured them water.

Zhang Yumei and the others had already returned from grocery shopping. Seeing so many of them, all sweating profusely from the heat, they quickly took out several large palm-leaf fans from the storage room for them.

"Thank you, Aunt Zhang."

There were six of them, but only three fans, so two people had to share one fan.

Huang Guiming is truly a natural social butterfly; he had only been sitting down for a few minutes when he was already having a very pleasant conversation with Zhang Yumei.

"Aunt Zhang, your house is so big! It's bigger than all the houses in our village. Are all city houses this big?"

"Aunt Zhang, is it really true that you have to pay for even water and firewood in the city?"

"Aunt Zhang, in the city, can we eat meat whenever we want? I heard that meat is sold every day in the city."

"Aunt Zhang..."

Xu Hongxia had never met such a noisy man; the words "Aunt Zhang" filled her mind. He was even noisier than the ducks she encountered in the countryside.

She desperately wanted to escape, but she couldn't...

Everyone was here entertaining the guests. Although Xu Hongxia really wanted to go back to her room, she felt it would be very impolite.

So he started frantically chanting in his mind: Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!

Xu Hongxia really wanted to ask the others, "Don't you think he's noisy?"

How could that be!

Huang Jianhua is a fairly patient person, but he was almost going crazy. He had already listened to Huang Guiming talk for more than two hours on his way here.

Now that we've finally arrived, I thought Huang Guiming would finally calm down, but I didn't expect him to chat so well with Aunt Zhang.

Anyone who didn't know better would think they'd known each other for ages. Judging by their demeanor, who would guess they'd only known each other for less than half an hour!

Huang Qinqin admired Huang Guiming quite a bit. It was the first time she had ever seen someone so talkative, especially when chatting with someone they had just met.

She knew Huang Guiming was the village chief's grandson, but she really didn't know he was such a chatterbox. Her impression of the village chief had always been that he was steady and taciturn.

She thought Huang Guiming was perfect for working in a department store; he'd be a natural sales prodigy!

Zhang Yumei and Huang Guiming were having a very pleasant chat, but seeing that it was getting late, she said to them, "Please sit down for a bit, and stay for dinner later!"

Huang Jiancai and the others declined apologetically, saying, "Aunt Zhang, there's no need to cook for us. We'll just have something to eat when we go to the guesthouse later."

"Now that we're here, how can we leave without eating? Besides, why stay in a guesthouse? We can stay at home!"

“There are still a few rooms in the house. Although there are no blankets, the weather is hot now, so it will be fine for a few days. There is no need to waste money.”

Zhang Yumei knew they were probably just being polite, but she genuinely felt there was no need to stay in a guesthouse; it was expensive and the environment was so-so.

Living at home is so convenient! If there wasn't enough space at home, that would be fine, but there are plenty of empty rooms. Although not every room has a blanket, every room has a bed.

After several unsuccessful attempts to refuse, Huang Jiancai and his companions had no choice but to reluctantly agree to stay. Zhang Yumei, however, refused to charge them for their lodging.

After discussing it, Huang Jiancai and the others handed over the grain coupons and some money they had with them to Zhang Yumei, which were for their family to use for food in the next few days.

Zhang Yumei looked at the grain coupons, not really wanting them, and pushed the money and coupons back to them, saying, "Oh dear, what are you doing? Quickly put the grain coupons and money away!"

"Aunt Zhang, if you don't want to stay, we'll really feel bad about eating and staying at your house."

Others chimed in, "Yes, Aunt Zhang, there are so many of us."

Huang Guiming joked, "Aunt Zhang, we usually have to work in the fields at home, and we all have a lot of appetites. If Aunt Zhang doesn't take our food, we'll feel embarrassed to eat our fill."

"What if we starve to death at Aunt Zhang's house? Please accept this, and cook us lots of good food after you accept it."

Hearing them say that, Zhang Yumei accepted the gift. At worst, she could just cook more delicious food for them, just like Huang Guiming suggested.

......

When Xu Junhui and his group returned, they were not surprised to see a group of guests at their home, since they had known yesterday that the guests would be coming today.

Xu Junhui greeted them one by one: "Hello, eldest cousin. Hello, second cousin."

When it was Huang Jianmin's turn, Xu Junhui hesitated. Every time he tried to call Huang Jianmin "cousin," he needed a long time to mentally prepare himself...

From the moment Xu Junhui walked in, Huang Jianmin had been expecting him to call him "brother." But after watching Xu Junhui greet his older brothers, he remained silent!

After waiting for two more minutes, Huang Jianmin, seeing that he still hadn't greeted him, cleared his throat and said in a affected manner, "Brother-in-law, you're back from get off work? Was work hard?"

Hearing Huang Jianmin raise the volume of the word "brother-in-law," Xu Junhui could no longer pretend he hadn't seen him.

I had no choice but to bite the bullet and say, "Hello, Third Cousin... Yes, I'm off work. Work wasn't hard, haha."

Xu Weiguo looked at his son Huang Jianmin's third cousin and couldn't help but laugh. But what could he do? He had married Huang Jianmin's cousin; there was nothing he could do about it.

He patted Xu Junhui on the shoulder to comfort him, then went into the kitchen to help. He wanted to give the young people some space so they wouldn't feel uncomfortable with him around.

Huang Qinqin knew that Xu Junhui felt awkward, after all, Huang Jianmin was two years younger than him.

So, when no one else could see, she quietly took his hand and comforted him.
