Chapter 11 Letter of Thanks

Since tomorrow is the first day back at work, Chen Zhaodi told Huang Jianjun to get some rest so he wouldn't oversleep the next day.

Huang Qinqin had also been busy all day, so she went to rest early. After all, they needed to use a kerosene lamp for everything at night, but the family didn't have much oil each month, so they wanted to save where they could.

......

the next day

Huang Qinqin was woken up by a knock on the door. Since graduating, Huang Qinqin has always slept in late.

The Huang family also doted on her, setting aside breakfast for her every day and letting her eat it after she woke up naturally.

However, Huang Qinqin was the only one in the entire family compound to receive this treatment. Other families' children, let alone daughters, and even sons, were not allowed to sleep in until they naturally woke up.

After all, even if I don't have to go to work, there are still a lot of things to do at home.

Huang Qinqin woke up groggily, seemingly hearing someone calling her second brother's name. She struggled to sit up and, like a lost soul, went to open the door.

When Huang Qinqin opened the door, she was startled by the large crowd gathered in front of her. She was now completely sober. Seeing that Fang Hui, whom she had met yesterday, was at the front, Huang Qinqin guessed that he had come to thank her second brother, and quickly invited Fang Hui in.

Since Huang Qinqin was the only one left at home, it wasn't appropriate for a lone man and woman to be alone together, so she couldn't close the door and could only let the others watch the commotion from the doorway.

Fang Hui noticed that Huang Qinqin hadn't opened the door, and he had obviously thought of this as well.

Fang Hui placed the things he was carrying on the dining table and said gratefully, "Wasn't that young man from yesterday home? Thank you for saving Nuonuo yesterday. I came here today specifically to deliver a thank-you letter to Jianjun."

A thank-you letter! A hint of excitement flashed in Huang Qinqin's eyes: "My second brother just started work today. How about I take you to the steel factory to find him? Please wait for me a moment while I wash my face, I'll be quick!" Without waiting for Fang Hui's reply, she went to wash her face.

Huang Qinqin was overjoyed. If Fang Hui went to the steel factory to deliver the thank-you letter, it would definitely help her second brother's future performance evaluation, and he might even have a chance to be transferred to the office. There was a temporary worker in the family compound who was promoted to a permanent position after receiving a thank-you letter.

So no matter what, Huang Qinqin tried her best to bring Fang Hui to the steel plant so that he could present the letter of thanks to the leaders.

The thank-you letter was already a big plus, and when Huang Qinqin learned yesterday that Fang Hui was from the Revolutionary Committee, she immediately realized the benefits. Without delay, she quickly washed her face, grabbed her bag, and rushed out.

Upon hearing Huang Qinqin's words, Fang Hui's face showed an expression of admiration; he thought she was very clever. He had seen too many short-sighted people; most people wouldn't even notice the thank-you letter first, but would only stare at the gift in his hand.

Huang Qinqin not only paid attention to the thank-you letter, but also took the initiative to take him to Huang Jianjun's workplace, proving that she is very smart and has a good relationship with her family.

Huang Qinqin and Fang Hui walked up to the gatekeeper and asked with a smile, "Sir, we'd like to find Huang Jianjun. Could you please call him for us?"

The old man looked up at them and asked slowly, "What do you want with him? What's your relationship with Huang Jianjun?"

Before Huang Qinqin could speak again, Fang Hui interrupted, saying, "It's like this, this is Huang Jianjun's sister. Yesterday, Comrade Huang Jianjun saved my child, and I came here today specifically to deliver a letter of thanks to him. If it weren't for Comrade Huang Jianjun's heroic act yesterday, I can't believe how chaotic my family would have become."

Upon hearing that they had come to deliver a thank-you letter, the old man's attitude changed immediately.

He said warmly, "Then come in and wait. I'll call the manager for you. This Huang Jianjun seems to have been hired just these past two days. I'm not quite sure which workshop he's in." With that, he opened the door, waved them in, and led them into the factory.

The old man led them through the corridors and stairwells, finally stopping in front of a door. Above the door hung a gold plaque with the words "Factory Manager's Office" written in large characters.

Huang Qinqin looked at the door in surprise. She had thought she would only be able to see a department head at most, but now she had been brought to the factory director! A sense of tension and anticipation welled up in her heart.

However, Huang Qinqin was unaware of the reason behind it all—this seemingly ordinary old man on duty was the factory director's uncle!

With National Day just around the corner, the factory, as is customary, prepares and submits several promotional articles every year. The problem is that the content of these articles is almost always the same: either praising the workers' diligence and focus, or commending an employee for winning the title of "Advanced Individual," etc. Although there is nothing wrong with such articles, they lack novelty and are unlikely to attract enough attention from the leaders.

Now that Fang Hui has suddenly said he's coming to deliver a thank-you letter, it's like a godsend! I'll have the publicity department write an article about this; it'll definitely impress the leaders.

The old man knocked on the door and asked, "Qiangzi, are you busy? A comrade is here to deliver a thank-you letter to Comrade Huang Jianjun from our factory!"

Wang Guoqiang's eyes lit up when he heard the old man's words. Clearly, he had also realized that this could solve their problem with the National Day propaganda article. He pretended to be calm and said, "No rush, come in."

Wang Guoqiang was somewhat surprised to see Fang Hui enter. He recognized Fang Hui, though not well, but had seen him several times before. He remembered that Fang Hui was the director of the Revolutionary Committee and that he had a younger brother in the army. He immediately greeted him warmly, "Director Fang, are you here to deliver a letter of thanks?"

Fang Hui nodded: "Yes, thanks to Comrade Huang Jianjun yesterday, otherwise I wouldn't know how to explain it to my brother."

"Is it that serious? What happened?"

Fang Hui recounted yesterday's events to Wang Guoqiang, then said, "That's why I came here specifically to deliver a letter of thanks. If it weren't for Comrade Huang Jianjun, Nuonuo might have been taken away. Could you please call him for me? I'd like to thank him in person."

Wang Guoqiang immediately replied, "Of course, I'll have someone call Comrade Huang Jianjun over right now."

Workshop 3

The gatekeeper said, "Who is Huang Jianjun? The factory manager wants you to come to the factory manager's office."

When Huang Jianjun heard the factory director call him to the office, he panicked, constantly racking his brain to see if he had done anything wrong that day. He was also worried that Huang Qinqin had found out that she had given him her work, which the steel factory wouldn't allow.

Somewhat nervously, he asked, "Um, may I ask what the factory manager wants to see me about?"

The gatekeeper patted Huang Jianjun on the shoulder and said with a smile, "Don't worry, it's a good thing."

Huang Jianjun was finally relieved.

When Huang Jianjun arrived at the factory director's office, he was somewhat surprised to see Huang Qinqin inside.
