Chapter 1: Rescuing People at Sea, Encountering a Miracle

Who else would wake up like her, in the sea, with a man tightly tucked under their arm?

Thrilling, bewildering, and a bit nonsensical.

As a national team swimmer with top-notch skills, and a model athlete trained in the military since childhood by her father, she can't back down.

Following my instincts, I swam forward until a dilapidated fishing boat came into view.

"Bonnie, swim over here quickly! Everyone, give us a hand and pull her up..."

Surrounded by unfamiliar surroundings and people, Jiang Jiaojiao was dumbfounded before she realized that this wasn't the beach where their team was having a team-building activity.

My last memory was jumping into the sea to save someone, and next to me was a luxury cruise ship. Where am I? Who am I?

Even the most profound questions cannot save someone who is completely bewildered.

A group of people dressed in clothes that looked like they were from a bygone era, patched upon patched, with braided pigtails, ruddy complexions, dark skin, and bright white teeth...

The buzzing sound and the weight of the falling body made Jiang Jiaojiao instinctively feel that something was wrong. However, saving lives was the priority. Based on her professional knowledge, she judged that the PLA soldier would die if he didn't receive first aid soon.

Hearing a group of people calling her Bao Ni, Jiang Jiaojiao realized that she might have transmigrated, just like in the novels!

Whether or not the person can time travel is not the point; the point is that the person they rescued received medical treatment.

"Make way, everyone, don't crowd around."

Jiang Jiaojiao casually shoved the people surrounding the unconscious PLA soldier away.

There was no time to figure out why he had become so strong; saving lives was the priority.

The man lying on the ground was wearing a vintage military uniform, his eyes closed, his face pale. Jiang Jiaojiao squatted down and felt his carotid artery with her hand.

Oh no, there's no pulse and he's unconscious. We must administer first aid immediately!

For a drowning victim who has lost consciousness, the first step is to open the airway.

Jiang Jiaojiao knelt beside the People's Liberation Army soldier, pressing his forehead with one hand and lifting his chin with the other to open his airway.

"Someone come here and help him clear the seaweed from his mouth."

No sooner had she finished speaking than an older woman ran over, "Baoni, are you just going to use your hands to get it out?"

"Yes, bring all these water plants out, quickly."

The old lady was quick and efficient; she cleaned the seaweed out of the soldier's mouth in no time.

Seeing that his airway was clear, Jiang Jiaojiao pinched his nostrils closed with her thumb and forefinger, covered his lips with her own, and blew air into them repeatedly, once, twice, and five times in a row, with a one-second interval between each time.

"Oh my god, why are they kissing?"

He yelled so loudly that he almost scared Jiang Jiaojiao to the point of fainting.

"Wang Daya, you dog mouth that can't utter a peculiar word! My Baoni is saving someone, if you keep spouting nonsense, I'll tear your mouth off."

The old lady immediately retorted with a tirade, and she was absolutely right.

"Li Daya, don't try to fool people. Since ancient times, who has ever seen a kiss save a life?"

"Yeah, that's a bit shameless!"

"They kissed several times!"

Jiang Jiaojiao couldn't care less about the surrounding chatter; she needed to save the person as quickly as possible.

She knew that, no matter when, there would always be dissenting voices.

She also knew that, in order to protect herself, she should find a piece of gauze or something to put in the drowning person's mouth.

But they've just swum out of the sea, where are they going to find these things?

After administering the first breath, chest compressions will be performed.

Jiang Jiaojiao placed the base of her palm between the two soldiers' chests, in the lower middle section of their sternums.

Overlap your wrists, interlock your fingers, keep your arms vertical, and press down with your body weight.

Professionally speaking, it should be at least 5 centimeters and no more than 6 centimeters.

Perform 100-120 compressions per minute, followed by 2 mouth-to-mouth resuscitations after 30 compressions.

Jiang Jiaojiao thought about the process in her mind while carefully operating the machine.

Sweat streamed down her face; she was holding on by sheer willpower, unable to stop.

Jiang Jiaojiao lost count of how many cycles she had completed. Just when she was about to give up, she felt the heartbeats of the People's Liberation Army soldiers under her command slowly returning, and she also heard shouts coming from across the sea.

Before Jiang Jiaojiao lost consciousness, she saw a group of People's Liberation Army soldiers running towards her in the distance. She knew that her mission was complete.

"Bonnie, Bonnie..."

The woman's heart-wrenching cries also made her feel extremely distressed. She wanted to comfort her, but her eyelids seemed to be glued shut, and she couldn't open them no matter what she did.

Jiang Jiaojiao was unaware that after she fainted, the troops arrived, and the accompanying military doctor examined her, saying that she was exhausted but had no other problems.

The comrade who had drowned also had gunshot wounds, but because of his dark combat uniform, no one noticed. The medic gave him a quick first aid and then evacuated.

After the soldiers left, the people on the beach started talking amongst themselves.

"They've already kissed, and she's just leaving like that? Who will marry Lin Baoni in the future?"

"Yes, Lin Baoni is naturally very strong, and most people wouldn't dare to shine a light on her. Now, even fewer people are willing to propose marriage to her."

The two women were from other brigades, and they were telling the truth, unlike Wang Daya, who was just looking for trouble.

The woman who had been arguing with others earlier was Lin Baoni's mother. At this moment, she was in no mood to fight with them. She had to take Baoni home quickly, change her clothes, and give her some brown sugar water... There were too many things to do. She should leave these gossipy women alone for now.

In Lin's mother's heart, nothing is more important than her Bonnie.

Several aunts and older women from the Lin family took turns carrying Bao Ni home, ignoring the gossip behind them.

When Jiang Jiaojiao regained consciousness, she had memories in her mind that were not her own; they were the short life of another person.

The original owner of this body is Lin Baoni, who is 19 years old this year and failed to get into university after graduating from high school.
