Chapter 10: Bonnie gets her marriage certificate, Lin Tao leaves.

Bonnie's marriage application has been approved, and the matter is settled. The Lin family has no choice but to accept it.

Lin Tao's enlistment notice stated that there were only a few days left before he had to report for duty. He needed to first assemble at the city's armed forces and then go to Kyoto with the other new recruits.

These past few days, besides going to work, the whole family has been preparing for Lin Tao's trip.

Lin Tao is a native of the island. The farthest he has ever been is the city. He doesn't know if he can adapt to life in Kyoto.

"Mom, Grandma, you don't need to bring any of these things. The army provides all the necessities. Just bring some clothes for Second Brother to change into and wear on the road." Bao Ni quickly stopped her mother as she saw her mother packing a large bag full of things, including an enamel basin, a lunchbox, and a water bottle.

"Really? You post everything? Bonnie, how did you know?" Lin's mother asked skeptically. Bonnie quickly replied that she had asked Gu Ye, but she couldn't very well say that she had known this since she was little!

Hearing that she had asked Battalion Commander Gu, Lin's mother believed it. She took everything out of the bag again, leaving only a few pieces of underwear and a change of clothes.

While the Lin family was making various preparations for Lin Tao's enlistment and departure from home, Gu Ye was discharged from the hospital.

"Why are you being discharged so soon? Did the doctor approve it? You didn't sneak out again, did you?" Xiao Chaoyang asked in surprise as he saw Gu Ye walk into the office from outside.

It's no wonder Xiao Chaoyang asked that question; Gu Ye has too many dark secrets and doesn't take the doctor's words seriously.

The reason his grandfather and brother were in a hurry for him to get married was because they were afraid of his reckless attitude towards life.

Gu Ye glanced at Xiao Chaoyang and said, "You're overthinking it. I was discharged only after the doctor approved it."

"That's good, that's good. Did the doctor give you the instructions? You must follow all the precautions. You can't go to the training field to train again." Xiao Chaoyang truly lived up to his reputation as an instructor; he thought of everything!

"By the way, the house has been approved. It's right next to my house. Go check it out in a bit and fill in anything that's missing." With that, he took a key out of the drawer and tossed it to Gu Ye.

Gu Ye took the keys and put them in his pocket. "Thanks, I'll go check it out in a bit."

After finishing his personal matters, Gu Ye began to deal with official business. He had been in the hospital for so long that a lot of things had piled up.

Xiao Chaoyang also went out; he had a lot of things to do, especially since Gu Ye wasn't around during this time.

The next day, Gu Ye carried cigarettes, alcohol, sugar, and tea that he had bought from the supply and marketing cooperative and went to visit the Lin family.

The Lin family, the captain of the island's first team, was a household name, even among the children on the island. Gu Ye easily found the Lin family's location.

In the courtyard, Grandma Lin sat on a small stool mending clothes, while Lin Baoni played with Da Bao.

"Dabao, guess which hand Auntie has the delicious food in? If you guess right, the delicious food is yours; if you guess wrong, it's Auntie's." Bao Ni clenched her fists and waved them in front of Dabao, letting him choose for himself.

Da Bao hesitated, unsure which one to choose, worried that if he made the wrong choice, the delicious food would be gone.

"Dabao, a real man should be decisive and not hesitate like this. Also, once you've made a choice, you can't go back on your word, and you can't cry and whine to get away with it," Bonnie said to Dabao while shaking her fist.

"I want this." Da Bao grabbed his aunt's right hand and tried to pry her hand open to see if the treat was there.

"I've made my choice, I'm going to drive it now, no backing out!" Bonnie said, opening her clenched right hand.

"Wow, I made the right choice!" Da Bao picked up the White Rabbit candy from Bao Ni's hand, cheering and jumping for joy!

"Comrade Lin Baoni." Gu Ye, who had been watching from outside the door for a while, had to interrupt the game between the aunt and niece and called out.

When Bonnie heard the shout, she turned around and looked outside. Oh my, Gu Ye was standing there straight outside the courtyard.

Wearing a white shirt and blue pants, standing over 1.8 meters tall, with his angular face and serious expression, he looked like a male lead straight out of an idol drama. How so? Ah, right, ascetic type, that's the word.

The only downside is that my face got a bit tanned!

Looking at Lin Baoni in the yard, who kept scrutinizing him as if assessing his appearance, Gu Ye's gaze sharpened.

Oh dear, that startled me.

Lin Baoni unconsciously patted her chest; that look was murderous.

"Comrade Gu Ye, you're here. Have you recovered? Why didn't you rest for a few more days?" Realizing she'd been caught red-handed, Bonnie quickly tried to cover it up.

That's a formidable professional soldier. From now on, you must be extremely careful with your words and actions, especially regarding military matters!

Bonnie quickly opened the courtyard gate and let Gu Ye in.

"Grandma, this is Comrade Gu Ye," Lin Baoni quickly introduced to her grandmother.

"Gu Ye, this is my grandmother," Lin Baoni introduced to Gu Ye.

"Hello, Grandma." Gu Ye put down what he was holding and gave a military salute as usual.

"Good, good, and good to you too." Grandma looked at the energetic young man in front of her, extremely satisfied.

Her daughter has such good taste!

The Lin family, from top to bottom, from the oldest to the youngest, all viewed Bonnie with a thick layer of filter!

After saluting, Gu Ye picked up the things on the ground and put them on the square table in the courtyard.

"Comrade Lin Baoni, I've come to see you. Let's go get our marriage certificate. After that, we'll go check out the family housing we've been allocated and see what we're missing so we can get it." Gu Ye felt that once they got their marriage certificate and confirmed their relationship, there wouldn't be so much gossip.

Grandma and Lin Baoni also thought of this. Grandma urged, "Baoni, hurry up and change your clothes. Go to the brigade headquarters to get a certificate from your father."
