Chapter 151 Heartwarming Daily Life

Gu Ye never expected that Bao Ni's joke would one day come true!

When they said the military would support seaweed farming, Bonnie even said that maybe one day she'd catch a big one, and then she'd make a fortune. Unexpectedly, before the seaweed had even fully grown, she actually caught a huge one – it was such a surprise!

Gu Ye now felt like he was walking on air; because of Bao Ni, he had become famous once again at the fleet headquarters. Whenever they mentioned Gu Ye, they would say, "Ah! That Lin Bao Ni who found a treasure is his wife."

I am honored to be a part of it!

The supplies were handed over to the army, and the rest was no longer of much concern to Bonnie. They had important things to do: the wheat harvest was approaching, a crucial step for their seaweed farming team to ensure their continued survival.

"Sister Bonnie, after we harvest the wheat, we can plant a crop of cabbage and radishes to eat in the winter."

"Yes, you all know how to manage your finances now, that's good, you've made progress."

"Of course! Who doesn't want to eat well, drink well, and have fun? Isn't the true meaning of life just about eating and drinking?"

Bonnie patted Lin Hai on the shoulder. This kid is really something. He can spout such pathetic things so easily. If Third Master heard this, he would definitely beat his dog head to a pulp.

"Sister Bonnie, am I not telling the truth?"

"You've never had enough of being beaten. You can keep those thoughts to yourself, but you don't need to say them out loud. Do you think your family will listen to you, you idiot!"

Han Weidong pulled Lin Hai aside. This kid is a bit silly, but very cute, and a friend you can make.

"Alright, Lin Hai, take them and the sickles, go find Grandpa and the others, and ask them to teach you how to sharpen the sickles."

"Oh, right, take this. Buy two bottles of wine for the old folks. They should have finished the last one by now."

Bonnie handed over the money and tickets, asking Lin Hai to run the errand.

“Sister Bonnie, please take it back. I have some wine here, sent from home. We don’t drink it, but we’ll give it to the old folks. We’ve troubled them quite a bit.”

Han Weiguo did have some wine; his mother sent it to him so he could use it to pull strings and improve his life. Now, he's doing very well and doesn't need it anymore.

"Alright, it would be a waste to give you guys this wine. Your wine has to be good. Let these old men have a taste, and I'll treat you like my own grandsons from now on."

After giving her instructions, Bonnie went home.

Gu Ye went to sea before, so he can rest and recuperate at the military base for a while and doesn't need to go out for the time being.

“Bonnie, that big guy you found before must be something special. My brother called today and vaguely mentioned it. You guys deserve a lot of credit this time.”

"Really? Will we get a reward?"

"You should get one. What kind of reward do you want?"

Gu Ye looked at Bonnie, who was deep in thought. She really wanted it. It seemed that this thing was no ordinary thing!

"Gu Ye, tell me, can I have a few sets of diving equipment? I didn't even know diving equipment was available now!"

"Of course it exists! It existed in the 1960s. For a while, diving was common in many places, and there were even factories that specialized in producing equipment. Many places had diving departments and trained a lot of divers. Haven't you heard of that?"

Bonnie had no memory of it; she thought scuba diving only became popular after the 1980s.

"I've never heard of that. How come it's gone?"

“After the movement started, they were all disbanded, and the equipment was nationalized. If you want it, you might actually be able to get it. I'll ask Commander Yang indirectly. If that doesn't work, I'll ask him to help me think of a way. If all else fails, I'll ask my older brother.”

Bonnie loved the feeling of Gu Ye supporting her so much, so she hugged his head and kissed him.

"It's not even dark yet, the kids aren't asleep. You've angered me, how are you going to take responsibility?"

"I'll pay you back double tonight!"

"Really, no cheating. Sanqi and Liujiu will sleep in the west room tonight."

Gu Ye perked up, wishing it would be dark by now.

That night, Gu Ye used all his skills to finally win over Sanqi, ceding land and paying reparations. Only then did Sanqi comply with his father's wishes, hugging his pillow and going to sleep in the bunk bed with his sister.

Gu Ye has had this bed for a long time, but no one has ever slept in it.

"Mom and Dad, are you going to have a little brother or a little sister for us? Can I choose? I want a little sister, I don't want a little brother."

Liu Jiu is known for his outrageous remarks; with just one sentence, he left Bao Ni and Gu Ye completely bewildered.

"Liu Jiu, who told you about having a little brother or sister?"

"Tiedan and Gangdan said that their parents are going to have a little sister for them so they can sleep with their uncle. Otherwise, the little sister can't come. Mom, is the little sister shy and won't come if there are too many people?"

Seeing Liu Jiu's puzzled look, Bonnie was speechless, unsure how to answer. How could she explain physiological knowledge to such a young child? She couldn't recall what her mother had told her back then.

"Six nines and three sevens, this is a profound thing, you will only understand it after you start studying. Now, take your brother to bed, Dad will tell you a bedtime story."

Seeing that Bao Ni was sweating profusely, Gu Ye quickly took the two little devils away.

"Oh my god, you're so quick-witted, otherwise I wouldn't know how to explain it."

"The children are young and will forget in a few days. When they are older, we will explain some physiological knowledge to them so that they will not be deceived in the future."

To be fair, Gu Ye is quite open-minded and doesn't shy away from discussing physiological issues.

"Gu Ye, is it okay if we only have two children, Sanqi and Liujiu? I'm afraid I won't be able to take care of too many children, and I don't want to spend the next twenty years of my life in the cycle of having and raising children."

"That's enough. Before I met you, I never thought about getting married and having children, or living a normal family life. Back then, I just thought about doing my best on missions, and if I fell one day, I would be a martyr. I never imagined that I would have a wife and children. I am content."

Gu Ye hugged Bao Ni tightly. This woman had rescued him from the sea and given him a warm home. He was content and wouldn't ask for more. Besides, he was busy in the army all year round and had very little time to take care of his family. Two children were enough to keep Bao Ni busy; he couldn't ask for more.

“Then let’s make a promise: the four of us will live a good life together. We’ll raise our children well, not expecting them to be outstanding, as long as they are healthy, have a skill, and can support themselves, that’s enough. When you retire, we’ll travel around and enjoy ourselves.”

"Okay, let's have a carefree time, just the two of us."

Gu Ye silently thanked Mazu for her blessing, for bringing such a wonderful woman into his life and allowing him to experience the joys of married life.

Gu Ye silently vowed in his heart that he would love this woman well for the rest of his life and stay with her until the end of his life.

That night, the two of them had a warm and romantic evening!
