Chapter 18 Bonnie Shows Off Her Strength During Morning Exercise

Before dawn, Gu Ye's biological clock automatically reminded him that it was time for his morning exercise.

"You sleep a little longer, I'm going for my morning exercise." Gu Ye said hurriedly when he saw that Bao Ni had also opened her eyes, it wasn't even dawn yet.

"I'll go exercise too, to improve my physical condition." Bonnie's biological clock has also been awakened; it's been ingrained for so many years, and she can't change it now.

The two dressed neatly, pushed open the courtyard gate, and ran towards the sea.

At first, Gu Ye slowed down, worried that Bao Ni wouldn't be able to keep up.

Unexpectedly, Lin Baoni is quite skilled. She didn't miss a single step, and her breathing was very steady, as if she had practiced before.

A moment later, they ran to the place where Gu Ye usually did his morning exercise. "Have you practiced here before?" Gu Ye asked in confusion.

“There’s a retired veteran in our team who taught me some skills when I was little, and I’ve been training hard myself.” This is a true story. Lin’s neighbor, who was discharged from the army due to injury, taught Bao Ni some techniques and moves because he saw that she was strong.

After Bonnie woke up from rescuing the person, she practiced the moves she had learned several times based on her memory, and combined them with the Sanda and free fighting techniques she had learned before. Surprisingly, the effect was quite good.

"Gu Ye, let's practice." Bao Ni said, starting to warm up her body. She hadn't practiced in a long time and was itching to get her hands moving.

"You?" Gu Ye asked, somewhat doubtful.

Bonnie has a big appetite and is said to be very strong, but she is one of the strongest in her group and even the entire island. Her courage is commendable!

"Don't underestimate us, the outcome is still uncertain!" Bonnie wasn't easily intimidated; such sparring sessions were commonplace for her in the past.

"Come on, give it a try." Gu Ye's fighting spirit was ignited, and he also began to move his body.

At first, the two tested each other, but after a while, they got to the point and started to take it seriously.

Gu Ye has extensive practical experience and his predictions are quite accurate.

Bonnie is strong and uses a variety of moves, so she's not weak either.

The two exchanged blows, neither gaining the upper hand.

Gu Ye hadn't expected Lin Baoni to be so powerful, with astonishing strength. In terms of sheer strength, he was no match for her.

Moreover, her moves appear chaotic yet perfectly executed, making it difficult to categorize them into any particular style.

Another kick exchanged, and the two men fell backward simultaneously, crashing onto the beach.

That was exhilarating! It's been so long since I've had this much fun. Bonnie looked up at the sky and missed Old Jiang.

"What's wrong? Are you alright?" Gu Ye came over, bent down to look at Lin Baoni who was lying there motionless, and asked anxiously.

"It's nothing, it's just that I haven't practiced like this in a long time, I need to rest for a while." Bonnie's smiling eyes sparkled with confidence.

"Did you learn all this from a retired veteran?" Gu Ye lay down next to Bao Ni and asked about the veteran.

"Most of them are, and some are things I figured out myself when I was fighting with others." Lin Baoni didn't hide anything, saying that she had been able to fight without any rivals on the entire island since she was a child.

In the last two years, as she got older, her grandmother stopped allowing her to fight with boys.

"That's quite an honor!" Gu Ye didn't expect that this person was also a fighting expert. He couldn't tell; appearances are too deceptive.

"It's not glorious, but it's not shameful either!" Bonnie felt she had done a good job.

It was getting late, so the two got up and went home. It was time for breakfast, and Bonnie's stomach was rumbling.

The couple returned from the beach early in the morning, attracting a lot of attention, with many wondering what they had been up to so early.

After eating and drinking her fill, Bonnie couldn't wait to go back to her parents' home.

I haven't been home for two days, and I don't know if I've missed her.

Carrying the gifts for returning to her parents' home, she got on the bicycle Gu Ye was riding. It was a women's bicycle that Bao Ni had wanted, size 26. It fit Bao Ni perfectly, but Gu Ye had to bend over a bit.

"Grandpa, Grandma, Dad, Mom, Bao Ni is back!" As soon as she entered the brigade, Bao Ni couldn't help but shout, not knowing if her grandma could hear her.

The elderly people sitting at the door smiled broadly, revealing their gums as they looked at the energetic Bonnie.

"Baby, you're back!" Grandma and Lin's mother came out to greet her when they heard the noise, while everyone else went to work.

Bonnie jumped down from behind and pounced on her grandmother.

Is it really necessary to make such a big deal out of it? It's only been two days since we last saw each other.

Lin's mother shook her head and greeted Gu Ye who was behind her.

"Little Gu, come in quickly." Lin's mother was happy to see Gu Ye looking so energetic.

After Lin Baoni finished being affectionate with her grandmother, she finally remembered Gu Ye.

"Grandma, Comrade Gu Ye said he wants to learn to cook from you. You have to teach him well. The food in the cafeteria tastes much worse. Look at me, I've lost weight!" Bonnie hoped that Gu Ye had a talent for cooking so that the two of them wouldn't have to eat in the cafeteria every day.

"How could you let Xiao Gu learn to cook? He's so tired from training all day!" In Lin's mother's mind, how could a man go into the kitchen!

In the Lin family, three generations of men don't know how to cook, and no one ever goes into the kitchen.

"Why not? I just can't learn it, otherwise my child will have to eat in the cafeteria too," Lin Baoni said without batting an eye.

"Um, um..." Gu Ye hesitated for a long time, but couldn't bring himself to say "Mother".

"Well, um, we usually call her 'A-niang' or 'Niang' here. When in Rome, do as the Romans do." Lin Baoni noticed Gu Ye's discomfort, but there was nothing she could do. They lived close by and would definitely be visiting each other often in the future, so it wouldn't do to be so awkward.

“Mother, it’s alright, I’ll give it a try. Maybe I’ll have a real talent!” Gu Ye finally said to Lin’s mother. This was what Lin Baoni had told him.

"Alright, as long as you two have figured it out yourselves." Lin's mother wouldn't force her son-in-law not to cook.

With a little time before cooking, Lin Baoni took Gu Ye to see her room.

The room wasn't big, but you could feel how pampered Bonnie was at home; the room was cozy and clean.

"Let's go see the seaweed houses!"
