Gu Ye only heard about the trouble someone was causing for Bao Ni the next day. He didn't say anything. He had heard some things about the Guo family from his brother and wanted to find a good way to make things difficult for them.
Bonnie hit and yelled yesterday. She took revenge on the spot and vented her anger immediately, never letting it linger overnight.
"Auntie, I'm taking my younger brother and sister out to play. We're just in the courtyard." Xuan Yu finished his homework and was going to take Liu Jiu and the others out to play.
"Go ahead. Before we go home, Liu Jiu and San Qi are in your care. Whether they play or study, it's up to you. If they need funds, they can apply, and I will consider approving them as appropriate."
Bonnie was overjoyed to have someone look after her child.
"Okay, Auntie, don't worry, I'll take good care of them. Next summer vacation, I'll come to the island to visit you. When I come, Auntie, will you teach me how to scuba dive? And we'll go collect sea snails..."
When Gu Xuanyu thought about this, he couldn't wait for summer vacation to arrive. Why was time passing so slowly?
"No problem, Auntie will take you all over the island, and we can even go boating to other small islands. You can do whatever you want!" Bonnie liked Xuanyu and welcomed his arrival.
"I'm going too!" Gu Xuanyi said in a soft voice.
"Second brother, didn't you eat enough this morning? Your voice is so soft. You need to speak louder so that others can hear you. Try again."
"Exactly, the voice is too soft." Sanqi is always there, he's everywhere.
Gu Xuanyi recalled how Zheng Jun had been dealt with yesterday, realizing that he was not even as good as Zheng Jun.
"Auntie, I'm going too." This time, the voice was much louder, at least Bonnie could hear it.
"Welcome." Bonnie looked at the shy Gu Xuanyi. Why didn't her two know the meaning of the word "shy"?
"That was alright this time. Let's go, let's continue exercising. We're going to run five laps today." Liu Jiu had also finished getting dressed and called out as they headed outside.
"Little sister, I'm going to Grandma's house today. I'll go exercise when I get back." Gu Xuanyi had decided yesterday that he would go to Grandma's house for a couple of days.
"Brother, you're slacking off!" Sanqi put her hands behind her back and stared at Gu Xuanyi without blinking.
"No, I didn't." Gu Xuanyi waved his hands repeatedly. He couldn't admit it; he could hear Liu Jiu's breathing getting heavier.
"It's good that you didn't intend to slack off. You can go to your grandma's house after we leave. You can't go without exercising, or you'll easily get bullied." Liu Jiu pulled Gu Xuanyi outside. What grandma? He just wanted to slack off.
Bonnie didn't care about them; she would handle the child's situation herself. Therefore, she ignored Gu Xuanyi's gaze and knew that pleading for help was useless.
Gu Ye drank quite a bit yesterday and doesn't plan to go out today. Tomorrow, his older brother and the others will start their holiday, and he needs to go to the retirement home to visit his grandfather.
"Baoni, were you angry yesterday? Wait, I'll go find Han Ye and we'll come up with a plan to help you vent your anger. Growing up is a bad thing; you can't just resort to violence like you did when you were little." Gu Ye said with a hint of regret.
"I'm not angry. I just ate too much meat yesterday and was in a hurry to come back to the bathroom. Otherwise, I could have played with them for a while. They're two idiots; there's no sense of accomplishment in beating them up." Bonnie didn't think much of the two; they were nothing special.
Gu Ye and Bao Ni discussed making mutton dumplings for dinner and going to buy some carrots and onions later.
Zheng Jun arrived at the stadium in the compound after breakfast, wanting to have a friendly match with Liu Jiu.
"Zheng Jun, you're here pretty early. Are you waiting for the girl from yesterday?" Han Bei also arrived; he had something to discuss with Gu Xuanyu.
"Brother Hanbei, I'm waiting for Liu Jiu. Do you know if she's coming today?"
"He should be able to come. Just wait a bit."
"Brother, Liu Jiu is here!" Zheng Hong called out as soon as she saw Liu Jiu enter. Her voice was quite loud, and everyone turned to look.
Zheng Jun's face flushed red instantly; Zheng Hong was determined to continue down the path of betraying her brother.
"Liu Jiu, my name is Zheng Hong, and I am Zheng Jun's younger sister. I told my grandfather yesterday when I got home that my brother was knocked down by you. My grandfather said that his father couldn't beat your father, so it's normal that he can't beat you either."
Despite her young age, Zheng Hong has a good memory; she can still recount yesterday's events fluently today.
Zheng Jun wanted to crawl into a hole and disappear. His sister not only betrayed her brother, but also betrayed their father.
Zheng Hong followed behind Liu Jiu, chattering away. She liked Liu Jiu; she felt an instant connection with him, and she just liked him for no reason.
Liu Jiu first dragged Gu Xuanyi to run laps, just to loosen up his muscles. Gu Xuanyi was still as weak as yesterday, and couldn't run three laps before he was done. This time, Liu Jiu didn't go easy on him and kept watching him until he finished five laps before letting him go.
Liu Jiu and Zheng Jun went over there to spar, while Han Bei and Gu Xuanyu talked about going to an island for summer vacation.
“Your parents agreed, and your aunt even said she’d take you to all the islands and teach you how to scuba dive. No way, I have to convince my parents.” Upon hearing this, Han Bei’s determination to go to the islands grew even stronger.
In the blink of an eye, another day has passed, and Bonnie has enjoyed another comfortable day.
The next day, Gu Ze's family and Gu Ye's family went to the retirement home, as they had to visit the two elderly members of the Gu family.
"Grandpa, I'm back." Gu Ye greeted his grandfather, looking at the once powerful man who was now an old man in his twilight years, and sighed in his heart that time waits for no one.
"They're back. These are Liu Jiu and San Qi, they've grown so much." Grandpa Gu is over eighty years old and still in good health, but some ailments from his youth have come back to haunt him.
"Hello, Great-Grandpa! Hello, Great-Grandma!" Liu Jiu and San Qi often followed behind Bao Ni's grandparents. They were familiar with the elderly and were quite friendly towards them.
"Hmph..." Grandma Gu snorted and turned her face away.
"Great-Grandma, does your tooth hurt?" Sanqi asked curiously.
