Chapter 228 Guests Arrive at Home

Bonnie and her friends' new home has more rooms: four main rooms, three of which are habitable and one is used as a living room. The remaining two rooms are divided into two bedrooms for the two children and a guest room/study.

There's no time for that now. The room is big enough. Gu Ye borrowed three bunk beds from the logistics department, and with Sanqi, it's just right for six boys. Liujiu will stay in one room by himself for now; it has a bed.

Bonnie asked a few of her acquaintances for help, and the house was quickly cleaned up.

"Bonnie, I'm really going to miss you moving out."

Aunt Zhang liked to sit on the wall and chat with Bao Ni whenever she had a spare moment, exchanging information and news.

"Sister-in-law, I'm not used to it either. These past few days, I've been looking at the wall all the time, but it's all so empty!"

The two of them imagined the scene and laughed at each other.

“Sister-in-law, come over whenever you have time. It’s not far from here. If you don’t come, I won’t know a lot of things.”

"Okay, come whenever you have time."

After seeing off several of her sisters-in-law, Bao Ni was genuinely a little reluctant to part with them. Her family used to live in the head house, but now they had neighbors on both sides, though she hadn't seen them much; they weren't from the same regiment as Gu Ye.

Liu Jiu and San Qi really like their new home. The yard is big, and there's a fruit tree with lots of fruit that will be ripe in a few days.

"Six-nine and three-seven, you two go to Grandma's house tomorrow. Mom will go pick up your brothers."

"Is Gu Xuanyi here too?" Liu Jiu thought he probably didn't want to come; if he did, he'd have to exercise.

"Yes, Xuanyi is here too, along with your friends."

Bonnie didn't know if her daughter Liu Jiu still remembered her friends.

"Who is it? Is it Zheng Jun? Is he afraid I'll forget about him, so he came along too?"

Liu Jiu remembers him; she hasn't forgotten him.

The conversation ended after Gu Ye arrived home; it was time to prepare dinner.

The next day, after sending the child to her parents' home, Bao Ni carried a basket to the dock to take a boat, accompanied by Han Weidong, who was going to pick up his nephew.

"Auntie, we're here." Gu Xuanyu started looking for Bao Ni as soon as he saw the ship coming. He had never seen such a big ship before.

Bonnie disembarked, thanked the young soldier, and they left, eager to get home.

"Hello, Aunt Gu!" the children greeted her with smiles.

"Uncle," Han Bei called out, and Han Weidong ruffled his hair.

"Come on, I'll take you to eat. The boat won't be heading back until this afternoon." Bonnie carried two large bags, which the others shared.

"Uncle Chen, let's have something to eat." Bonnie led four or five children in, startling everyone in the restaurant.

"Bonnie, whose kids are these?"

"It's from Brother Gu Ye's family, and also from a friend's family. They're here for summer vacation to see the sea. Uncle Chen, what kind of food do you have? What kind of seafood do you have? Give us some."

"Alright? You can sit down now, I'll get things ready for you." Chef Shen went to the kitchen and returned a moment later with a tray of food.

"You can share the seafood porridge, seafood buns, steamed buns, and noodles this morning. I'll have the kitchen cook some seasonal seafood for you; it'll be ready in a bit," Chef Shen explained clearly.

"Thank you, Uncle Shen!"

"Thank you, Grandpa Shen!" The children hadn't gotten the generational order wrong.

"Eat up, you're all hungry. Have some porridge first. It's not good to eat in the car, so don't eat too fast now." Bonnie had finished eating in the morning and told them to eat by themselves.

"Wow, this is delicious, so fresh!"

"Mmm, delicious!"

"I'm so happy!"

The boys ate their meal, praising it repeatedly. "It's so delicious! Most of the seafood we've eaten before was dried or half-dead. We've never had anything this fresh before."

A little while later, Uncle Shen brought out several more plates of stir-fried seafood. People who aren't locals might not be able to enjoy the original flavor of seafood.

Bonnie has something to say to Uncle Shen, so let them eat by themselves. Han Weidong is here too.

"Uncle, do you have any meat?"

“I can’t do without you, and you can’t take too much in this weather, it won’t keep. I’ll give you enough for one meal.” Chef Shen knows the importance of keeping ingredients fresh.

"Thank you, Uncle. Whenever you need sea cucumbers and abalone, just let me know. Don't say it outright; my place is a bit secluded and can't be exposed." Bonnie and Uncle Shen understood each other perfectly.

After Bonnie and Uncle Shen finished talking, the children had also finished eating. Since it wasn't time to set sail yet, they asked for their opinions and decided to take them to visit some nearby attractions.

In the afternoon, Bonnie went to Uncle Chen's to retrieve her carrying basket and took the children to the dock. Luckily, Han Weidong came along; otherwise, Bonnie would have been a little worried about taking care of the five children alone.

"Stay put, don't wander off on the boat. The wind is strong at sea, and if you get blown overboard, you'll be done for." Bonnie said seriously. The children knew what was important; their parents had told them that they had to listen to Aunt Gu here.

The boat set off, and the few non-swimmers were initially quite excited, but soon their excitement vanished as they became seasick.

"vomit……"

"Mommy, I want to go home, sob sob..." The youngest, Gu Xuanyi, was vomiting and cried out for his mother, wanting to go home.

"Here, Xuanyi, have some water and a slice of ginger in your mouth, it'll make you feel better." Bonnie handed Xuanyi a water bottle and quickly stuffed a slice of ginger into his mouth.

Fortunately, their island wasn't too far from the city, and after several people vomited up their bile, the boat docked.

"Alright, we're here. Let's get off the boat. You'll feel better after a few vomiting episodes." Bonnie patted everyone on the shoulder. She carried Xuanyi and took him off the boat first; there was still a bunch of stuff to do.

"Wei Dong, keep an eye on Zheng Jun. If things get bad, you carry him on your back."

"Okay, Bonnie, you can go now."

Han Weidong carried Zheng Jun on his back; the kid was quite heavy.

After the children got off the boat and sat on the ground, finally the swaying stopped, and it felt so good to have solid ground under their feet.

Bonnie and Han Weidong made several trips back and forth before they finally managed to unpack everything.

"Sister Baoni, Weidong, we're here." Li Gang and the others pushed over two carts.

"Come help us quickly, put everything in the car, and put the two little ones in the car too, they're all nauseous." Han Weidong directed them to work, he was exhausted.

"Alright, just you wait and see!" Li Gang, with his glib tongue, acted like a waiter, even gesturing with his hands.

Li Gang and his group also came from the compound, and Gu Xuanyu and the others knew them, so they didn't feel like strangers.

A group of people, big and small, strolled leisurely to the family compound, registered, and headed straight for Bonnie and her friends' new home.

"Alright, we're home. Find a place to sit down and rest for a bit. Weidong, take them to the hospital's public bathhouse later. I have some bath tickets here." Bonnie took out a few bath tickets and told them to go take a bath later.

"I'm going to pick up Liu Jiu and San Qi, and I also need to ask my mother to cook dinner. You can eat here tonight too, have a get-together. Pack your things later, the first room on the west side is your room." After giving these instructions to Bao Ni, she left, as she still needed to buy some groceries.

They moved to a new house, but there was no more food left; their old house had been given to someone else.

Bonnie, being quick on her feet, went to find her mother first to see what they could do that evening.
