"Xiaoshan's mother and I have come to chat with you. Do you have time?"
Qu Hong speaks quickly and loudly, while Su Mo next to her appears much quieter.
"Come in and have a seat when you have time."
Bonnie ushered the two inside. There was a small gazebo in the courtyard with a set of tables and chairs, which Bonnie hadn't dismantled.
Bonnie came in and brought out a fruit platter, teapot, and cups, which contained many snacks from Beijing.
"Wow, so many! Let me try some. Is this a local specialty?" Qu Hong took a dried fruit; it tasted really good.
"No, my hometown is on an island. This was sent by my child's aunt."
After Sister-in-law Gu found out their new address, she mailed them a large package full of food and other necessities. Bao Ni plans to find some local specialties and send them to her sister-in-law so they can try them.
"Is your sister-in-law from Chongqing?" Bonnie asked, noting the similar accent.
“My hometown is a small town under Chengdu, while your sister-in-law Su is from Shanghai,” Qu Hong introduced to Bao Ni. She usually spends most of her sleep time with Su Mo.
“We’ve really come together from all over the country. My neighbor, Aunt Zhang, is from Northeast China. She’s a very nice person and will come over as soon as she’s done with her work.”
"Really? That's good. I've also heard that people from Northeast China are very straightforward. I've offended a lot of people because I don't mince words." Qu Hong said, sounding a little downcast.
"It's alright, we'll just be more careful in the future. It's better to offend a gentleman than a petty person." Although Bonnie doesn't like beating around the bush, it doesn't mean she won't speak directly.
Before long, Aunt Zhang also came over, and the four of them chatted for a long time, finding that they got along quite well.
Birds of a feather flock together.
