As darkness fell, Liu Jiu and his friends successfully seized their territory, cheering and shouting. Looking at the dejected faces of the other team of children, they realized how the tables had turned!
"Sanqi, let's go home!" Liu Jiu ran over, hung the water bottle around his neck, pulled Sanqi up, and prepared to go home.
"Yan Yan, it's time to go home." A boy in his early teens ran over and greeted the little girl.
"Okay, Uncle. Brother, can I come visit you again tomorrow?"
"Okay, I'll come over after dinner tomorrow. Just come find me here, and I'll bring my toys so we can play together." Sanqi also quite liked this little sister; she hadn't had a runny nose all night and was very clean.
Sanqi waved goodbye and walked home with her older sister, saying she would come back to play with her little sister tomorrow.
"Yan Yan, a new friend you met?"
"Yes, Uncle, I like playing with him. His name is Gu Xuanming, and he's a year older than me. Can you bring me here again tomorrow?"
The little girl's big, watery eyes looked at the little boy; she was incredibly adorable.
"Alright, if there's nothing else, I'll bring you over."
The boy led the little girl out of the family compound, into the neighboring family compound, and into a general's building.
"Mom, I made a new friend. Her name is Huo Yanyan. She looks like a doll and is very clean. She didn't have a runny nose all night."
Sanqi rarely talks about his little friend so excitedly. He didn't go to daycare on the island; he stayed at his maternal grandmother's house with Erbao.
After arriving here, although he went to school, he rarely played with his friends. He disliked their runny noses and how they would wipe them on their clothes. Later, he asked the teacher if he could sit at a table by himself.
Then, when Sanqi injured her leg, she breathed a sigh of relief, finally free from a room full of slugs.
