Gu Mei grumbled and cursed, venting her resentment.
"Gu Mei, pack your things these next few days and rent a place near your son-in-law's factory. Move there."
Gu Xiangdong was annoyed by their noise and told them to leave.
"Dad, are you like this too? Don't you feel sorry for me now that I'm like this?"
Gu Mei felt heartbroken. She was the only one in the family who was having a hard time, so why couldn't anyone help her?
"How much more do you want us to care for you? While you were in the countryside, your family sent you money and supplies every month. What more do you want from us?"
Gu Xiangdong was also furious. This child doesn't know how to be grateful!

Gu Mei felt that of all the children in her family, she was the only one who went to the countryside, and that she was suffering in their place.
“Don’t forget, you signed up to go to the countryside yourself. If you hadn’t gone to such a far place, you would have been transferred back long ago. I’ve been pulling strings for you, but you’ve barely even worked in the fields. What do you mean by ‘enduring hardship’?”
The father and daughter argued fiercely, each feeling the other was wrong, and Gu Mei was eventually ordered to move out within a week.
Gu Xiangdong walked back to his room, exhausted, feeling completely drained.

Is this his retribution? Will he spend the rest of his life trapped in endless arguments?
Gu Xiangdong lay on the bed, his mind blank.
What goes around comes around; heaven will not let anyone off the hook!
