Gu Wei had been there on missions; the dialects were diverse and difficult to understand.
"It's alright. I mostly speak Mandarin at work, although it has a local accent, but it's still understandable. I lived there for a few years, and it was alright."
Gu Ye wasn't worried about the language barrier, but rather that the area was unfamiliar to his older brother. He hadn't left Beijing much, and it would take him some time to adjust to the local customs.

“I don’t have that much influence. If you have that much influence, you go and say it. My affairs are none of your business.”
"You think you've grown wings and can do whatever you want, huh?"
Uncle Gu wanted to intimidate his eldest son, but Gu Wei wasn't afraid at all.
"Alright, go do what you need to do and stop thinking about useless things. If you cause trouble, no one will help you. Grandpa is no longer here."
Uncle Gu and his wife walked out of their eldest son's house with sighs, but they couldn't get through. Was there really no other way?
