Chapter 373 English Tutoring Begins

They say that keeping quiet makes a fortune, so Bonnie found a great foreign language teacher for her child without publicizing it, thus reducing trouble for herself and others.

When Gu Ye found out, his jaw almost dropped.

"Honey, who are you talking about? Teacher Zhai, Ms. Zhai Qiu from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs?"

At the dinner table, Gu Ye hadn't even taken a bite of his food when his wife's words startled him so much that he dropped it on the table.

"What, is he very impressive and famous? Professor Gao said he's a friend of mine, a retired official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but he didn't go into details."

Bonnie is fearless in her ignorance, Gu Ye's heart is racing, his wife's luck is unmatched.

The children were also intrigued and stopped eating, waiting to see what would happen next.

Gu Ye felt a little uneasy looking at the several pairs of eyes staring at him.

He coughed deliberately, thinking about where to begin.

Ms. Zhai Qiu comes from a family of scholars and was quite famous before the founding of the People's Republic of China, but her family was not large.

She entered university at sixteen and went abroad to study at twenty; she was a progressive young woman.

Both his parents were patriots, and his only brother also participated in the revolution.

On the eve of the founding of the People's Republic of China, when the defeated forces were leaving, some people were unwilling to accept their fate and went on a rampage. Zhai's parents were innocent victims and lost their lives.

Later, after the country was established, our Premier personally contacted Ms. Zhai, who returned to China without hesitation and devoted herself to the country's diplomatic cause.

Gu Ye said everything he could, and Bao Ni and the others felt a deep admiration for Ms. Zhai.

There were also some things that shouldn't be mentioned, which Gu Ye didn't say; those were Ms. Zhai's experiences, and it wasn't his place to bring them up.

The children were shocked. They hadn't expected their English teacher to be so amazing. The level of expertise was too high. They felt that if they didn't learn well, they would be letting their teacher down.

They secretly vowed to study English diligently and hard, so that they could contribute to the country like Teacher Zhai in the future.

Children of that era dreamed of becoming scientists, soldiers, or teachers, and contributing to their country!

After finishing their meal and cleaning up the table, the children went downstairs for a workout. Back in their rooms, they quietly took out their textbooks and began studying on their own.

Bao Ni and Gu Ye returned to their room. Bao Ni was very curious about Teacher Zhai's family situation.

"Gu Ye, aren't all of Teacher Zhai's children very successful?"

Gu Ye glanced at his wife. "Teacher Zhai has no family anymore. All her relatives are gone. I won't say anything more. If she wants to talk about it later, she will."

Gu Ye didn't know much about it either. He had only heard a little from his brother, which left a deep impression on him, so he remembered it.

Upon hearing this, Bonnie understood that Teacher Zhai had a story to tell, so she didn't press the matter further.

"Honey, you've worked so hard!"

Gu Ye truly felt that his wife had worked hard and had a tough time, both at home and outside, and there was so little he could do for her.

The country had gone through a turbulent decade, and many things were in need of rebuilding; they were really busy.

Life may seem peaceful on the surface, but there are many untold stories behind it.

"You know that's good. We each do our part, work together, and understand each other, so that our little family can thrive."

Bonnie doesn't have Gu Ye's strong sense of national responsibility. She just wants to live her own life well, and without affecting her own family, she can think about the greater good and help others.

Many people might think she's selfish, that she doesn't care, that she can't even manage her own family, so how can she talk about national affairs?

"If you can't sweep one's own room, how can you sweep the world?" Bonnie agrees with this saying.

Our country is made up of many smaller families. By taking care of her own family and not causing trouble for the country, she is also contributing to the nation.

On Monday, everyone went to work or school. Bonnie, who also has a job, was very busy.

A new batch of books arrived at the library. Bonnie and her classmates were busy all day, and they barely managed to sort them out before leaving get off work, moving the books that belonged to them into their respective classrooms and completing the registration.

"Lin Baoni, are you done? Can you help me with this?"

Lan Hua saw that Bonnie had already started cleaning and became anxious. She asked Bonnie for help, forgetting that their relationship was just so-so.

Bonnie was speechless. This person was like a goldfish, with a short memory; every time they had an argument, they forgot about it the moment they turned around. She didn't know if she was just incredibly carefree or just incredibly thick-skinned; it left her speechless.

"Comrade Lan, I really can't help you today. I'm in a hurry to go home and cook, and I have something to do after dinner. It's true."

Bonnie and Teacher Zhai agreed to take their child to English lessons on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings.

"I know, when have you ever not been serious? Going home to cook, as if you can cook."

Orchid is very concerned about Bonnie and already knows that she can't cook anymore.

"I can't cook, and I don't even know how to get food from the cafeteria. You think you're so great just because you can cook? You can do it yourself slowly."

Bonnie thought to herself that the two of them were incompatible, as they could never have a pleasant conversation.

Bonnie left, and Orchid was dumbfounded. She can't cook and yet she has the nerve to complain? Seriously.

Bonnie didn't hear Lan Hua's inner thoughts, otherwise she would have sprayed her in the face: I'm proud that I can't cook, I'm happy that someone in my family cooks for me.

After getting off work, Bonnie went home and started steaming rice, shredding potatoes and soaking them in water, soaking dried mushrooms in water, slicing meat, and then making an egg and tofu soup. Perfect.

Sanqi arrived home first. They started elementary school a little earlier than junior high, and he was in a hurry to get home to cook.

Working together, the food was ready just as Liu Jiu and Xuan Yi arrived home.

Without waiting for Gu Ye, the mother and her children finished eating and set off. There are still buses running, but Gu Ye will need to pick them up in the evening.

Now Gu Ye has bodyguards and a car, so even if he doesn't have time, the bodyguards can pick them up. Bao Ni didn't refuse to use this privilege, since there was no other way to use the bus at night.
