"Father and Mother, take Grandpa and Grandma to my house later to let them know it's new. They've never been there before, and neither has Father."
Lin Tao came over today because he wanted to take his parents to visit his home. He couldn't just not visit them even once since they had come all this way.
"Okay, I'll go see your grandfather when he wakes up."
Bonnie's dad agreed; since he was in Beijing, he had to visit his son's family.
Lin Tao's family and Bao Ni's family are not in the same compound. Last time I went to Bao Ni's place, they were both at work, so I didn't go over.
After a while, Grandpa and Grandma came out, dozed off for a bit, and recovered.
"Grandpa, Grandma, have some water. Are you feeling better?"
Bonnie poured two glasses of warm water for the two elderly people. They were getting old, and even going on a long trip was a nerve-wracking experience for them.
"I'm really thirsty, why don't you guys take a rest too?"
Grandpa and Grandma were feeling unwell earlier and didn't have time to say anything to Lin Tao and his wife.
"Yes, take a rest. Grandpa and Grandma, will you come visit me later?"
Lin Tao was worried that the old man might not be able to hear, so he spoke a little louder.
"My hearing is fine, I'm not deaf, I don't need to shout so loudly."
The old man looked down on Lin Tao, saying he knew nothing.
"Okay, Grandpa, we'll leave in a bit. Have lunch at my place."
"OK."
Bonnie looked at her grandfather, who seemed like a little kid to her.
"Bonnie, what time does the child finish school? Let's come to my house for dinner."
Hao Mei was making arrangements, thinking of inviting Bao Ni and the others to come along.
"You can take your parents with you, we won't go. The children will have lunch with Teacher Zhai and won't be coming back."
Gu Ye and I also have things to do; we've already made plans.
Bonnie didn't want to go even if she had nothing to do; she and Hao Mei didn't get along, and it wouldn't be fun for them to be together.
"That's really unfortunate. It's not easy to invite you to a meal."
Hao Mei was a little unhappy. Did Bonnie care? No.
Finally, Lin Tao's family of four and Bao Ni's parents returned to their own home, and Gu Ye said he would pick them up that evening.
Gu Ye and Bao Ni went to their appointment; it was a gathering organized by Han Ye and his group, which had been arranged beforehand.
