Chapter 399 The Hospital Turmoil

Teacher Li and the grade leader arrived at the hospital entrance first. After waiting for a few minutes, Xiaoxia's mother arrived first, still wearing her work uniform, indicating that she was in a hurry.

"Teacher Li, what disease does my Xiaoxia have? Is there any hope for her? Waaah..."

Xiaoxia's mother was extremely anxious the whole way here, her mind filled with all sorts of bad thoughts. The more she thought about it, the more frightened she became, and the more chaotic her mind became.

"Xiaoxia's mom, has the baby's father arrived? Let's go inside and hear what the doctor has to say."

Looking at the flow of people coming and going at the hospital entrance, Teacher Li pulled Teacher Cao aside and stopped him from saying what he was about to say.

Seeing Teacher Li's actions, Xiaoxia's mother sensed something was wrong and didn't press the matter further.

"Qiao Hui, what happened? What illness does Xiaoxia have?"

When Xiaoxia's father arrived, he was also eager to ask about his daughter's condition.

"Teacher Li said the doctor is waiting, let's go in quickly, don't keep the doctor waiting too long."

Xiaoxia's mother, holding her husband's hand, followed Teacher Li into the hospital.

In the ward, Zhang Xiaoxia had woken up, looking completely bewildered. She didn't understand what was wrong with her. Wasn't she in PE class? Why was she lying here? And why was the PE teacher here too?

Although she was full of questions, she was introverted and didn't ask any. She just lay there silently without making a sound.

"Xiaoxia, what's wrong with you?"

Qiao Hui looked at her daughter lying on the hospital bed with a blank expression and asked anxiously.

"Mom, how did you get here? I don't know either. I think I fainted during PE class, and when I woke up I was here."

Zhang Xiaoxia spoke softly, but when she faced her mother, she began to talk.

"Teacher Li, what's this?"

"Wait a minute, I'm going to call the doctor. He'll be here soon."

Teacher Li comforted the family of three, but she couldn't say it directly.

"Zhang Xiaoxia's parents?"

"Doctor, I am Zhang Xiaoxia's mother, and this is her father. What's wrong with my daughter? Is there any hope for her?"

The couple looked at the middle-aged female doctor with hopeful eyes, hoping to hear good news.

The doctor glanced at the people in the room, and the ward door was closed before she spoke: "Zhang Xiaoxia isn't sick; she's pregnant, seven months along, and the baby is currently healthy..."

"What? Doctor, what did you say? Xiaoxia is pregnant? How is that possible? There must be a mistake, she..."

Xiaoxia's mother looked at the doctor, and her father clenched his fists in surprise.

"Please calm down, family members. There is no mistake. It has been confirmed, and the test results are in."

The doctor handed the test results to the girl's mother, who was quite shocked.

"It's confirmed! How could that be? My Xiaoxia is such a good girl. She's always at school, either at home or elsewhere. How could this be..."

Xiaoxia's mother muttered to herself, her hands trembling as she held the test results.

"So you should ask the child if he/she has been bullied or what happened, since the fetus is already seven months along."

The doctor didn't need to say what happened next; everyone understood that there was no other way but to give birth.

"Xiaoxia, tell Daddy, did someone bully you?"

Looking at her father's somewhat ferocious face, Zhang Xiaoxia was a little scared. She didn't know she was pregnant. She thought she had gained weight and was afraid that her classmates would laugh at her, so she wrapped her belly with a bed sheet and tried to eat less.

"I don't know, I thought I just gained weight, but I don't know, sob..."

Zhang Xiaoxia was also scared. She knew what pregnancy was, but she was only seventeen years old and not married yet. How could she be pregnant?

"Xiaoxia, don't cry. Tell your mother if anyone bullied you, like, did they take off your clothes?"

Qiao Hui put it another way: her child was timid and honest, and she wasn't sure if her child knew what it meant to be bullied.

"I, I took off my clothes with Brother Yan Jun once."

Zhang Xiaoxia thought about it and realized that she had only taken off her clothes once in front of outsiders.

"Who, Yan Jun? That kid from Director Yan's family?"

Xiaoxia's father realized what was going on; the workshop director at his workplace was someone his family had a good relationship with and interacted frequently with.

Director Yan is a leader, and I helped him get a deputy director position before. The two families often ate together, and their children knew each other.

"Yes, it's Uncle Yan's son, Yan Jun."

Although Zhang Xiaoxia was scared, she still told her parents.

"That weekend, I was studying at home. My parents took my younger brother to Uncle Yan's house for dinner. I didn't go because I hadn't finished my homework."

The house was burning quite a bit that day, and she was feeling a bit hot wearing her cotton-padded jacket and trousers, so she wanted to change into something thinner. Just as she took it off, she heard someone come in, and she thought her parents had forgotten something.

Xiaoxia's parents thought about it, and when the appointment notice came down that day, they went to Director Yan's house to express their gratitude and bought a lot of things.

Xiaoxia didn't go; they knew the children had a lot of homework, so she didn't go.

During dinner, Yan's youngest son returned, apparently after another fight. He was scolded by Director Yan, who said he wasn't studying properly and that Xiaoxia was studying even during her vacation. Director Yan praised him a lot.

Yan Jun is three years older than Xiaoxia. He's been in high school for three years, all for the college entrance exam. He failed last year, so he's studying again this year. He's in his early twenties now, and we don't know if he'll be able to pass.

After being scolded and compared by his father, he turned around and ran away. Who would have thought that he would run to the Zhang family?

Xiaoxia thought her parents had returned and wanted to ask if she had forgotten something, so she came out wearing a sweater and long underwear.

Unexpectedly, Yan Jun, looking furious, was in the living room when the two met.

Zhang Xiaoxia is quite pretty, with a great figure, especially her well-developed breasts. It's not noticeable when she's wearing thick cotton clothes, but today, she's only wearing a sweater and leggings, so it's very obvious.
