Chapter 401 Summer Vacation, Lin Bo and his wife arrived

The news about Zhang Xiaoxia didn't spread, and no one at the school knew about it. They just told people that she was sick and had gone home to recuperate.

Teacher Ma never spoke to Bonnie about her again. This seventeen-year-old girl had entered the adult world prematurely and taken on a different role.

Bonnie also started looking for some information, wanting to prepare for the story she was going to write next.

Six and Nine have also entered the review stage; the first year of junior high school is about to end.

"Mom, Teacher Zhai said there will be no classes during the summer vacation. She told us to play as much as we want and continue studying when school starts."

During dinner, Liu Jiu remembered what Teacher Zhai had said and quickly told her mother.

"Even if Teacher Zhai hadn't brought it up, I would have. Learning is not something that can be accomplished overnight; it requires a balance between work and rest."

Xuanyi and Xuanyu are going south to visit your uncle and the others, so you and Sanqi should take a break. Once you're on holiday, we'll move to the courtyard house to keep Grandma and the others company.”

Bonnie had already made plans; the children had been studying very hard and needed to rest properly.

"That's great! I love Grandma's cooking. I wish they wouldn't leave."

Sanqi has always been a picky eater and has many requirements for food, but she has loved the food made by her mother and grandmother since she was a child.

"That's a bit unrealistic. The ladies will miss home. No matter how good it is outside, it's not home for them. The island is their root."

Bonnie understands her grandparents; the reason they came out this time was to watch the flag-raising ceremony and see the place where the great man once lived, which was a source of comfort for them.

"It's alright, we'll go back to see them often in the future."

Sanqi wasn't bothered by it; he was a very perceptive child.

"Six Nine, aren't you coming south with us?"

Gu Xuanyi had become accustomed to going in and out with Liu Jiu Sanqi.

"No, it's too hot. I've worked so hard to get my skin fair, I absolutely don't want to get tanned again."

Sanqi resolutely refused to go; he had only been back for a few days!

“I don’t plan to go either. The journey takes too long, and we’ve been there for several years.”

I don't plan to go in June either; taking the train in the sweltering summer heat is really not a good experience.

"You two just abandoned me like that, you're so heartless!"

Xuan Yi looked mournful and tried to shed two tears, but failed.

"Come on, what are you doing? It's disgusting!"

Sanqi pretended to shake the goosebumps off his body; Xuanyi was too cloying.

"Okay, my brother and I will go by ourselves and bring you some good food when we come back."

Xuan Yi knew that Liu Jiu and the others wouldn't go, but he just wanted to see if a miracle could happen.

"What do you two want to do during summer vacation? Stay at home or study something?"

Bonnie gave her two children full freedom to arrange their own holidays.

"I'm going to spend the summer vacation with my grandma and the others, and I won't be studying anything," Sanqi said, stating her decision first.

"Let me see. If my dad or his family has any training programs that I can participate in, I'll go and train for a few days. There's nothing else I want to learn for now."

Since both children had made up their minds, Bonnie didn't have to worry much, and being a mother was quite easy for her.

Xuan Yi listened with envy. Liu Jiu and San Qi had arranged their affairs clearly and efficiently, which was a kind of independence that he lacked.

Fortunately, he insisted on staying here instead of going with his parents, and he was able to learn to handle his own affairs.

Days passed quickly, and the vegetables in Bao Ni's garden were ready for harvest. Not only the ones she had planted before, but also the vegetables that her grandmother and the others had planted in the corners and edges, so they could eat one crop after another.

Bonnie gave away quite a few gifts; she gave them to everyone she knew, and she also gave them to several teachers at the library several times. Orchid was her favorite, and she received one too, even though Bonnie hadn't given her one before.

The rest, including Bao Ni's mother, Teacher Zhai, and Grandma, were dried.

Teacher Zhai especially enjoys peeling green beans, finding it particularly stress-relieving. While performing simple, mechanical movements, her mind can clear, allowing her to think of nothing.

Spending every day with Bao Ni's mother and the others, listening to their everyday stories, and learning how they make the most of every resource to live a fulfilling life, has made her much happier.

In early July, after Liu Jiu and the others finished their exams, Bao Ni helped Xuan Yu and Xuan Yi pack their things. Some of the items were food to take to Xuan Hao, and some were sent directly away.

"Alright, that's all the stuff. Tomorrow you'll be going with the people your second uncle found. It'll be your first time traveling so far, so be careful and don't meddle in other people's business."

The train was carrying a diverse group of people, especially those heading south; many of them were involved in reselling and trading, and you have no idea what they've done.

Bonnie reminded them several times that while their fighting skills were average, their spirit of standing up for the weak was extraordinary.

"We understand, Auntie. We will remember this. We will not be stubborn, nor will we be overly compassionate. On the bus, we were in an unfamiliar place with no one to rely on."

Gu Xuanyu was personally trained by his elder brother. He could be carefree in Beijing because he had a safety net.

"Okay, I'm glad you understand. Give me a call once you arrive safely, either at home or in your second uncle's office."

Bonnie and her friends are planning to move to a courtyard house, but it's uncertain whether anyone will be home.

"Understood, Second Aunt."

The next day, after seeing off Gu Xuanyu and his brother, Bao Ni and the others packed their things and moved to the courtyard house.

"Grandma, we're here."

Sanqi stopped pacing like an old man and dragged Qiaoqiao into the courtyard.

"Mom, guess if Teacher Zhai is in the yard?"

Liu Jiu now really enjoys watching San Qi's jokes. Her younger brother has a high IQ and a fast brain reaction speed, so it's not easy to find a joke about him.
