I miss you. I can count the number of times I've seen you on my fingers these past few days.
Bonnie wasn't complaining; she was telling the truth.
"Honey, I have to go back to my unit tonight, and I don't know when I'll be back. Let's take advantage of the kids being away and have some time to be affectionate. I miss you so much."
Gu Ye picked up Bao Ni and put her on the bed. Bao Ni was stunned for a moment, as if she realized something.
"Okay, I miss you too. Go and lock the door."
Gu Ye locked the door and drew the curtains, darkening the room. They couldn't see each other clearly, but they could feel each other's breath more deeply.
Whether it was because it was daytime or because they wouldn't be able to see each other for a while, Gu Ye was very excited, and Bao Ni's eyes were a little wet.
She knew that Gu Ye might be going south. He didn't say anything, and she didn't ask. They were both very engrossed in their conversation, and the bed in the bedroom kept creaking for hours.
When Bonnie woke up again, she smelled a delicious aroma coming from the kitchen, wondering who had cooked it.
Bonnie changed her clothes, tidied up, and left the bedroom. The children had already returned, and Gu Ye came out of the kitchen carrying dishes.
"Wife, dinner is ready."
"Yes, it's here."
Dinner was plentiful, featuring all of Gu Ye's specialties.
The children didn't seem to feel anything, except for Gu Xuanyu, who occasionally frowned in deep thought.
"I'll be in closed training for a long time. You all stay home and listen to your mother and aunt. When I come back, I'll give you a reward."
Gu Ye looked at Xuan Yu, and the two exchanged glances without saying a word.
"Okay, Dad. Take care of yourself and eat well."
Liu Jiu had gotten used to her father's occasional absences and didn't think much of it.
Bonnie didn't want the children to have any other thoughts, so she arranged for everyone to eat. It had been a long time since they had eaten Gu Ye's cooking, and everyone enjoyed the meal.
Bonnie escorted Gu Ye to the door, closed it, and hugged Gu Ye's waist, saying, "Your life is mine, you have to protect it."
"Okay, honey."
Gu Ye walked away without looking back; he didn't dare to turn around.
