Chapter 433 Gu Ye Gets a Promotion

Gu Ye saw his wife blush. Although her skin wasn't very fair, he could tell she was embarrassed.

"Honestly, what are you saying? Hurry up and button up your clothes."

Bonnie was truly speechless. How could this person be becoming increasingly unreserved and shameless?

"Honey, I have some good news for you. I got promoted, and you can live in the General's Building now. We'll let the kids live on the second floor, and the two of us can live on the first floor. That way, we won't have to make any noise, and you won't have to hold back. You can shout as much as you want."

The couple were sitting close together, talking privately, and didn't notice the door had opened.

"Dad, what do you want Mom to call out?"

Sanqi came in carrying her schoolbag and asked her father in confusion what her mother was going to call out.

Bonnie's face flushed red again. She pinched Gu Ye's waist, thinking, "He's so annoying, he says all sorts of things."

"I'm calling you for dinner."

Gu Ye was so engrossed in cuddling with his wife that he didn't notice Sanqi coming in. How come that kid has such long ears? He can hear us from so far away.

"Dad, I think you're lying to me."

Sanqi looked suspicious; he felt his father was lying.

"Alright, your dad got a promotion, and we're moving to a new house soon."

Bonnie quickly changed the subject, preventing Sanqi from pressing the issue further.

"He got promoted? Brigade Commander Gu became Deputy Division Commander Gu?"

Sanqi calculated that his father's age was only that of a deputy division commander.

"Remove the word 'deputy,' and it becomes 'Commander Gu'!"

Gu Ye is a little arrogant; he was promoted despite not meeting the usual criteria.

"Dad, that's amazing! Is it because you did something good in the south?"

"This is confidential, don't ask. It was decided before the new year that I would be promoted to deputy division commander, but I didn't say anything until the official document came out. Unexpectedly, I went to the south ahead of schedule, and after I came back, I was promoted exceptionally. I probably won't get promoted easily in the next few years."

Gu Ye understood that this was the result of their efforts over the past six months; the people he had taken with him had all been promoted upon their return. This was equivalent to a last-minute promotion in the past, and opportunities like this would become increasingly rare.

"Dad, you're the first division commander under forty years old, except before the founding of the People's Republic of China. Be content!"

Sanqi calculated that his father entered military academy at the age of fifteen and has been in the military for more than twenty years. He is no ordinary person.

"How am I ungrateful, you brat? Did you come back just to annoy me?"

Where?

The father and son kept chatting away, but Bonnie ignored them, preoccupied with what her new home would be like.
