Chapter 461 Measure and Determination

In September, the autumn colors are deepening in Beijing!

This year, you can see many street vendors on the streets.

As the movies continue to be released, many stylish outfits are appearing on the streets, setting trends. Bonnie recognizes batwing tops, jeans, stirrups, sunglasses…

It's a favorite among most young people, but also disliked by many older people, who mutter, "What is this thing they're wearing? Two black glass shards on their clothes, they don't look like good people!"

The courtyard area is a bit better; the most vibrant atmosphere is found in the interconnected hutongs, especially after dinner, where the full spectrum of human life is truly on display.

After a symphony of pots and pans clattering, the day began.

"Mom, Teacher Zhai has a bit of a cough. Could you please make some pear soup for us to take with us when we go to study tonight?"

After washing up, Sanqi remembered hearing Teacher Zhai cough last time and became a little worried.

"Okay, I'll tell Sister Xiang in a bit. You guys should eat soon."

Since Sister Xiang came, the family's three meals a day have been taken care of, which has made her much more relaxed. She can finally relax and doesn't have to worry about what to eat every day.

Sister Xiang is amazing. She can make different flavors of the same ingredients and not repeat them for a whole week. Even the picky Sanqi is impressed.

"Mom, we need to pay for school uniforms. I want to order two sets so I can alternate wearing them."

Liu Jiu doesn't like going to the mall to buy clothes; trying them on is too much trouble. If we order two sets of school uniforms, she can wear them every day and won't have to think about what to wear on her days off.

"Okay, you can each order two sets."

"I don't want any. One set is enough. I'll wash it during the holidays and then wear my own clothes."

Sanqi quickly raised his hand in objection; he didn't want to wear his school uniform every day, which was both bulky and oversized.

Where's Sylphy?

"Second Aunt, I don't need two sets either."

He shared the same thought as Sanqi; he finally had a holiday, and he wanted to wear his newly bought denim jacket.

On this trip to the south, there were many new styles of clothes. Gu Xuanyi bought several pieces and also picked out some for Liu Jiu and San Qi.

Sanqi likes overalls, denim jackets, and sneakers. Liujiu wears nothing but sneakers; her school uniform seems to be an extension of her body.

The children had their own ideas, and Bonnie supported them, agreeing to their application.

After breakfast, the children went to school first, and Bao Ni and Sister Xiang cleaned up the dishes together.

"Bonnie, I can do it myself. You have to go to work later."

Xiang Fangcao has been working at the Gu family for some time now and has gradually adapted to the job, as well as gotten to know the adults and children in the Gu family.

"It's alright, there's still time. Sister Xiang, why don't you make some pear soup tonight? The child's English teacher has a cough. Make a lot, so we can all drink some; it's autumn, and it's dry."

Bonnie felt that food supplements were better than medicine supplements, so she drank it like sweet water.

"Okay, I'll buy some ingredients for stewing pear soup when I go grocery shopping. Bonnie, we're having dumplings tonight. I saw you brought back quite a few zucchini."

"Okay, I'll make dumplings with you after get off work. There are many people and they have big appetites, making dumplings is a big project."

Bonnie packed her things, grabbed her bag, and went to work.

When Sister Xiang first came, she said she would only be in charge of the kitchen.

After spending some time with the family and getting to know them better, she realized that the family wasn't so rigidly divided, and she was able to lend a hand in many things.

After Bonnie and the others finish their meals, they also clean up the table. Now, in addition to cooking, she also tends to the vegetable garden in the yard, leading a fulfilling life.

Dinner included not only zucchini dumplings, but also three-delicacy dumplings and green bean and pork dumplings.

After finishing their meal, Liu Jiu and the others took the pear soup and a lunchbox of dumplings and went out.

Bonnie and Gu Ye also went out for a walk. Since returning from the island, Bonnie felt that her brother Ye had become a bit clingy.

Now, there's no need to cook breakfast; Gu Ye will go for a morning exercise with the children, but Bao Ni can't get up and doesn't participate. However, after dinner, as long as Gu Ye isn't busy, he'll take Bao Ni out for a walk.

Gu Ye led Bao Ni through various training equipment in the compound, one by one, without focusing on speed, just for physical exercise.

It worked well. Bonnie clearly felt her energy return and was even able to spend some time alone with her boyfriend, which was pretty good.

Days come and go, similar yet dissimilar.

There's no English study every Saturday night; Liu Jiu and the others go to the training ground after dinner.

"Six-Nine, let's have a friendly spar."

Zheng Jun looked at Mu Nanfang in surprise. Was this guy looking for trouble?

"Okay, I haven't practiced much for a week."

Liu Jiu looked around and saw that Xu Yi and the others were there, but Ma Zijun and Lan Shengli were not. They were in their second year of high school and didn't have time to go out and play anymore.

"Let's go, I haven't practiced in a while either."

Mu Nanfang walked behind Liu Jiu, looking ahead over Liu Jiu's head.

After school started, he didn't come back for the first two weeks, nor did he see Liu Jiu. After thinking it over carefully, he realized he had developed different feelings for Liu Jiu. Because after school started, some girls showed interest in him, which he found very off-putting.

After thinking it through, Mu Nanfang also considered it seriously. She was seventeen years old, a freshman in college, and her life had just begun. Liu Jiu, on the other hand, was fourteen, a freshman in high school, and still an immature little girl.

Mu Nanfang felt that before he and Liu Jiu grew up and could take responsibility for their own lives, he should be careful about his words and actions so as not to cause trouble for Liu Jiu.

He could keep an eye on Liu Jiu, appearing around her as a friend, letting her become familiar with and accustomed to his presence. If Liu Jiu becomes aware of this after the college entrance exam, he could then make it clear.

After figuring things out, Mu Nanfang adjusted his mindset and naturally got along with Liu Jiu.

"Six Nine, let's stop here. My current fighting strength is only enough to spar with you."
