"Everyone step back, don't crowd around."
Bonnie heard someone shout from the crowd, and slowly, the encirclement dispersed, allowing Bonnie to see the people inside.
A man was holding a woman covered in blood in his arms. Blood was everywhere, staining both of their clothes.
Bonnie ended up in the front row without anyone noticing, and when the crowd dispersed, the people in front of her moved aside.
"Lin Qiang, the dead cannot be brought back to life. Please accept my condolences. Now take him home and prepare for the funeral."
The speaker was a police officer in his forties, and he was the one who shouted just now.
"Why, why are you doing this to us? We just went to dance, we didn't do anything else, why won't you leave us alone? My wife is pregnant, what right do you have to slander her? You are all murderers, you killed my wife and child."
The man holding the corpse cried out, his eyes red and filled with sorrow.
Bonnie noticed that many of the older women secretly lowered their heads, their expressions not very good, but some people didn't react at all, didn't care, and even pursed their lips and muttered something.
A short while later, a group of people arrived, it was unclear whether they were from the wife's family or the husband's family. Together they lifted the body in the man's arms onto the door panel and left.
The man on the ground suddenly got up and staggered back. He had lost his wife and child and was on the verge of collapse.
Bonnie found out that it was the young married couple who were caught at the dance before the New Year. It was such a pity that they were only in their early twenties and were gone just like that.
"Oh dear, how did he end up slitting his throat!"
"He feels guilty. He did something wrong and he can't live with himself anymore."
"Shut up! The person is dead, and you're still saying things like that. Aren't you afraid that ghosts will come looking for you tonight?"
Several aunties and older women quickly left the woman who was pouting, feeling that she had gone too far.
Bonnie carried her things home; she never expected it to end like this.
Wei Hong's sister-in-law guessed that the two married women would most likely get a divorce, but she never expected the ending to be so tragic.
