Breakfast was already prepared at home. After Liu Jiu finished washing up, San Qi and Xuan Yi entered the house.
"What's wrong? You look so down."
Bonnie asked the question knowing the answer already, and she said, "There's always someone who can handle the two of them."
"It's okay, I'm just a little tired and hungry. Let's go wash up."
The two brothers together looked rather pitiful from behind.
"Honey, are they that different?"
"The three-seven approach is about to be completed. Xuan Yi is far from it; he probably hasn't moved at all in the past two months. But it's alright. I asked Mu Nanfang to help find him a training partner so they can supervise each other during their workouts."
Liu Jiu ate another bowl of rice; she was really hungry.
"I'm troubling Nanfang again. I need to prepare a lot of dishes so he won't come for lunch."
"He said he also asked me to thank you and Aunt Xiang, because he likes Aunt Xiang's cooking."
Liu Jiu ate another bowl of rice, and Xuan Yi and San Qi also came over.
"Such a nice young man, I wonder if he has a girlfriend?"
Bonnie sighed with emotion, saying that she really thought Mu Nanfang was a good kid.
"A child like you shouldn't be studying. What are you doing dating? You're not old enough yet."
Liu Jiu thought her mother was quite strange; how old was she, and she already had a boyfriend?
"Sis, Nanfang is already nineteen years old, he's not young anymore."
"The law now stipulates that women must be at least 20 years old and men at least 22 years old to get a marriage certificate."
Liu Jiu glanced at San Qi, his eyes full of inquiry. Could this kid be looking for a girlfriend?
"Liu Jiu, you're talking about marriage! Marriage! Is dating the same as marriage?"
Gu Xuanyi looked at Liu Jiu with surprise. Where did this antique come from? What era is this? Why would anyone still have such thoughts?
"Isn't the point of dating to get married? Isn't it immoral to just date without getting married?"
Liu Jiu thought her parents were great; they got married when they reached the right age and were living a wonderful life!
Everyone else in the room was stunned by Liu Jiu's idea. Gu Xuanyi felt sorry for Mu Nanfang. After trying for so long, he realized that this was what Liu Jiu thought.
Bonnie hadn't expected her daughter to think that way. She wanted to say something, but didn't know where to begin. Theoretically speaking, what Liu Jiu said wasn't wrong.
After finishing her meal, Liu Jiu continued studying foreign languages. She discovered that English was also very useful in the military, especially now that many things were lagging behind international standards, and there was so much they needed to learn.
Xuan Yi and San Qi huddled together, discussing what Liu Jiu had just said.
"Sanqi, do you really think Liujiu thinks that way? A girl her age, wouldn't she be curious about the opposite sex? When the girls in our art academy get together, they talk about boys the most."
"How can you girls from the art academy compare to my sister? What are they thinking about all day long? What is my sister thinking about? She's thinking about how to fly a plane well and how to catch up with international technological levels."
Besides, from childhood to adulthood, which boy has ever wanted to go near my sister after being beaten up by her?
San thought his brother had lost his mind, comparing his sister to a student from an art academy—was there any comparison?
"You're wrong. Didn't Mu Nanfang still hang around her after Liu Jiu beat him up?"
Xuan Yi retorted to San Qi, "This kid is young, but he has a big presence. He's talking about love with a little brat. He must be out of his mind."
“You said it yourself, it’s Mu Nanfang. Over the years, there’s only been one Mu Nanfang. Even if my sister has feelings for him, she won’t think about it in that way. She might think she’s sick.”
Sanqi, you know your sister well.
"Really? Liu Jiu can't be that naive, can she?"
Gu Xuanyi didn't believe it. It's instinctive for people to develop feelings for each other. How could someone be so slow to react?
“It’s not that she was naive. It’s that Mu Nanfang appeared too early. My sister was so young back then, how could she have thought about it in that way? Now, she’s used to Mu Nanfang being by her side, and she’s even less likely to think about it that way.”
"Sanqi, to be honest, are you in love? How come you're saying it so clearly and logically?"
Gu Xuanyi was a little suspicious. Sanqi was already thirteen years old and her voice was starting to change.
Sanqi rolled her eyes at her brother, pointed to her head, and said she really didn't want to talk to him; she was too tired.
Sanqi lay back on the bed and refused to communicate.
Gu Xuanyi touched his nose; he was being disliked.
At noon, Mu Nanfang came over, carrying a net bag of fruit.
"Southern, you've come all this way, why did you bring so much stuff?"
"Aunt Gu, my dad's comrade-in-arms came over and brought a lot of fruit. He grew a lot in his yard, so he brought some for you to try. Pomegranates, persimmons, and apples were all picked from his yard."
Mu Nanfang handed the things to Liu Jiu, and went to wash his hands without needing anyone to help him.
"Okay, we're in luck, these pomegranates are really big."
Bonnie plans to pack some abalone, sea cucumber, and other seafood for Nanfang to take back with her. Her family has recently received a lot of seafood from her mother, Lin Bo, her sister-in-law, and other good friends.
Everyone enjoyed the meal; it had been a long time since it had been so lively. It would have been even better if Gu Ye had been home, but unfortunately, he was away on a business trip again.
Mu Nanfang brought home a net bag full of seafood, which puzzled his mother. Later, when she heard that it was from the Gu family, she understood where the fruit had gone.
Mother Mu didn't think much of it. She knew that the third son got along well with the Gu family's children. Although the adults of the two families hadn't been in contact, the children had been interacting quite a bit.
Commander Mu looked at Mu Laosan, wondering when the boy would be able to marry a wife. Then he thought of the new marriage law and calculated that it would be at least four years from now. Oh well, haste makes waste.
Upon returning to school, Liu Jiu's first action was to go to the school administration office for a check-up, and the result was that there was nothing wrong.
