When the first snowflake fell, the winter of 1983 arrived quietly.

When Gu Ye returned home that evening, his wife hadn't come home from work yet. He quickly washed up; the past two weeks had been incredibly hectic. He hadn't realized how worrying the public security situation was until he went down there.
Highway robbers are rampant and employ all sorts of tricks. Their main mission this time was to assist local police in cracking down on armed bandits. These people were incredibly audacious, committing murder and robbery. Even knowing they were police officers, they still opened fire, injuring several officers, one of whom died from his injuries.
Faced with such thugs, Gu Ye and his team no longer bothered with persuasion; they simply shot them dead. The army's snipers could easily take them down.
As citizens, they can't abide by the law and even endanger society. Do they really think the country is a pushover? If we don't deal with them, where will they run to? In the past two weeks, they've been sweeping through, arresting quite a few people and seizing a lot of weapons.
"Sister Xiang, is Gu Ye back?"
Bonnie ran home after get off work; she wouldn't feel at ease unless she saw it with her own eyes.
"I'm back. I've washed up and gone to my room to rest."
Looking at the flustered Bao Ni, Sister Xiang thought the two of them had a really good relationship; even though their child was so big, they were still very close.
Bonnie put down her bag and went inside.
Gu Ye lay on the bed, seemingly asleep. He had lost weight, and his hair had grown long.
Bonnie carefully walked to the bedside. She seemed unharmed, so Bonnie was relieved.
"Honey, have you missed me?"
Gu Ye reached out and pulled Bao Ni into his arms. He had woken up as soon as his wife came in.
"Oh my god, you scared me! You were pretending to be asleep. How old are you? You're so unruly. Are you hurt?"
Bonnie patted Gu Ye. Honestly, she hadn't even noticed that he was pretending to be asleep. How childish!
"We weren't injured. We were cooperating with the police. They were the main force at first, but they couldn't keep up. Those guys were really reckless; they even dared to shoot at the police. One of them was killed, and several others were injured."
Gu Ye felt heartbroken just thinking about it. These social parasites should be made to spend the rest of their lives in jail.
