Bonnie has a good appetite, and despite Gu Ye's constant feeding, she hasn't grown taller, but her belly has gotten quite chubby.
Bonnie, have you gained weight?
That night, Gu Ye lay in bed, touching Bao Ni's slightly swollen belly.
"Really? Are you fat? I feel like I've gained some weight too. I changed my clothes yesterday and my pants felt a bit tight around the waist. No, I have to control myself. I can't keep eating like this, or I'll get so fat."
"Gaining a little weight is fine, but I'm just wondering why you've only gained weight in your belly and not anywhere else?"
Gu Ye noticed that Bao Ni's face hadn't gotten fat; it was still her original round, chubby face.
I've only gained weight in my belly, my appetite has increased, I'm sleepy and tired easily, and I haven't gotten up to exercise with Gu Ye in the morning for a while.
Bonnie touched her belly, and suddenly an idea popped into her head. She started counting on her fingers.
"Who do you think you are? Do you have enough fingers? Do you need your toes? I'll provide them for free."
"Gu Ye?"
Bonnie let out a loud scream.
"What's wrong?" Gu Yeteng sat up abruptly and asked nervously.
"Gu Ye, Gu Ye, I, I might be pregnant."
"Got it, what's next?"
"Child, I might be pregnant."
Where is it?
Gu Ye was completely bewildered, unable to express himself clearly, and didn't even know what he was saying.
"Smack!"
Bonnie patted his arm. "Calm down, where else could the baby be but inside your belly?"
"Oh! You mean we're having a baby? Ouch, that hurts, it's true."
When Bonnie saw Gu Ye like this, she suddenly stopped being nervous.
"How did you know you were pregnant? Are you also a doctor?"
"What nonsense are you talking about? I did the math, and I haven't had my period in ages."
"That, which one? Ah! I know, I know."
The couple lay in bed unable to sleep. They had a baby, a loud, adorable child, like a little pine tree. It was quite nice.
The couple didn't know when they fell asleep. Gu Ye woke up early the next day, got up to do his morning exercise, and went to ask for leave so he could take Bao Ni to the clinic for a check-up later.
When Bonnie woke up, Gu Ye had already prepared breakfast.
What time is it?
"It's past eight o'clock, time to get up and have breakfast. I made porridge and stir-fried some vegetables."
"Okay, I'll get up now."
After finishing their meal, the two walked towards the clinic.
"Battalion Commander Gu, what's wrong?"
The young doctor looked at Comrade Lin, who was being helped in by Gu Ye and looked utterly dejected, and found the scene rather comical.
"Um, let's find a female doctor."

Bonnie was so angry she gritted her teeth, really wanting to knock him on the head.
"I'm trying my best, I'm trying my best, but I can't quite control myself."
"What's wrong? Who's pregnant?"
A woman in her forties walked in. Bonnie recognized her; she was the wife of the Second Regiment Commander.
"Dr. Yang, I think I might be pregnant."
"Xiaolin? What symptoms are you experiencing? How many months has it been since your period last came?"
Bonnie still can't figure out how many months it's been since she last had her period; she can't remember.
"Dr. Yang, I don't remember how many months it's been since I last came. I've just been eating more lately, and I get tired and sleepy easily. I've also gained a lot of weight around my stomach."
Bonnie's voice trailed off as she spoke. How could someone who had studied physiology and hygiene and watched countless movies and TV shows depicting pregnancy not have thought of this?
"Here, let me write you a form. You need to get a blood test first to confirm the diagnosis."
"Okay, thank you, Dr. Yang."
With the form in hand, Bonnie went to have her blood drawn and waited for the results.
By the time they got the forms, it was already afternoon, so Bonnie and her friend went back to Dr. Yang's office.
"Let me see the lab results."
Bonnie handed it over, nervously staring at Dr. Yang. Although she felt she was pregnant, she was still a little nervous at this moment.
"You're pregnant, and it's been quite a while. Come on, lie down on that bed, let me listen to the baby's heartbeat."
Bonnie went over and lay down on the bed, feeling Dr. Yang's stethoscope moving across her stomach, and she could almost hear her own heartbeat.
"Okay, the fetal heartbeat is normal."
Gu Ye and Bao Ni both breathed a sigh of relief; their hearts sank into their stomachs.
"Dr. Yang, how many months old is the baby? What precautions should we take?"
"You guys are so carefree! The baby's over three months along, and you're already showing a bit. Didn't you realize you were pregnant?"
Bonnie is ashamed!
Gu Ye was completely bewildered!
"Alright, both the mother and child are healthy and getting enough nutrition. They're eating normally and don't need to overdo it with supplements. It'll be harder to give birth if the baby gets too big."
Are there any others?
Gu Ye stopped taking notes and pressed for more information.
"That's all, just be careful during sex in the future, don't be too rough!"
"Huh? Ouch..." Gu Ye's face turned red instantly.
Watching Gu Ye nervously help Bonnie leave, Dr. Yang sighed inwardly, "Everyone says Gu Ye is cold-hearted and not suitable for marriage, but that's because he hasn't met the right person."
Back home, Bao Ni was urged by Gu Ye to go to bed and rest. After a long day of fussing, Bao Ni was quite tired. She took off her shoes and went to bed, and soon she could be heard snoring.
