Chapter 537 They all passed the exam.

"It's born, Mom! Dingxiang has given birth!"

Lin Nan was sweating profusely with anxiety, and her steps were a little unsteady.

"Yes, I've given birth! Thank you, Goddess Mazu, and thank you, ancestors!"

Aunt Bonnie kept bowing in the direction of her home in gratitude. If this were on an island, she would have knelt down and kowtowed several times.

"Dingxiang's family, please come and pick up the child."

The door opened, and the nurse, holding the baby, called out.

"How is my wife? When will she be able to come out?"

Lin Nan was worried about his wife, so Bao Ni took the child.

Newborn babies all look pretty much the same. Perhaps because conditions are better now and there's no shortage of food and drink, the babies are chubby and you can tell they have long eyeliner and big eyes.

"The mother is doing well and is still undergoing final procedures. She will be able to come out in a while. Please take the baby to the ward first, and leave someone here to wait for the mother."

"Nurse, is this a boy or a girl?"

Bonnie saw the nurse about to go in and quickly asked a question.

"Boy, 7.6 pounds."

Only after the nurse went in did Lin Nan remember his child.

"Sister, who does the child look like?"

"It's not obvious yet, but the eyes should look like yours. You wait here for Dingxiang, my aunt and I will go back to the ward to tidy up."

"Okay, we came in a hurry, so we only brought some things for the children."

Lin Nan asked his sister to handle the matter, and his mother was completely bewildered.

"Uncle Nan, congratulations!"

Sanqi has seen the baby; it's so tiny.

"Sanqi, Uncle Nan didn't even notice you, I'm sorry. Please accompany your grandmother back to get some things later, thank you for your trouble, Sanqi."

"It's not hard work, isn't this all for the little brother?"

Sanqi is quite responsible as an older brother, but his younger brother is too young.

"Bonnie, shouldn't we ask your uncle to make some soup?"

"No need yet, you need to pass gas first after the C-section."

"Huh, what's exhaust?"

Aunt Bonnie didn't understand; she had never heard of a cesarean section. Most babies were born at home, with midwives on the island.

"Exhausting gas is like farting first."

Bonnie told her aunt in the most straightforward and easy-to-understand way.

"Okay, okay, I don't understand either. Luckily you're here, Bonnie."

"Let's go back to the ward."

Bonnie held the child, while Sanqi supported her maternal grandmother.

The current wards are all made of metal-framed beds, which are quite basic. Fortunately, there is a wooden crib.

"Auntie, put the blanket in the crib. Dingxiang will have to stay in the hospital for a few days, so it's better to put the baby in the crib."

"well……"

Aunt Bonnie has recovered and is no longer nervous. She's always been a quick and efficient person; she was just initially frightened.

Dingxiang slipped, but managed to catch herself in time to avoid falling and injuring her stomach. She was still terrified and started bleeding immediately. Luckily, it was in a restaurant; if she had been at home, the thought of it would have been terrifying.

After settling the children in, Auntie and Sanqi went back to get their things, while Baoni stayed in the ward to look after the children and wait for Dingxiang to come out.

"Sis, lend a hand."

More than half an hour later, Dingxiang was pushed in.

"The anesthesia hasn't worn off yet, and the person is still not fully conscious."

Lin Nan's worry did not lessen; he felt it had been too dangerous.

"It's alright, let Dingxiang sleep for a while. It will take several hours for the anesthesia to wear off."

Bonnie helped move Dingxiang to the bed, covered her with a blanket, and checked the IV drip. Everything seemed normal.

"Dingxiang, don't worry, the baby is very healthy, weighing seven pounds and six ounces. You should get some sleep, and when you wake up, you'll see your chubby eldest son."

"Thank you, sis."

When Dingxiang heard that her child was healthy, she felt relieved.

"Lin Nan, keep an eye on things. I'm going to get some hot water. The baby bottles and jars need to be warmed up; the baby will be hungry soon."

"Okay, thank you for your hard work, sister. My legs are still a little weak, I was really scared."

"Don't be so polite with me. Keep an eye on the child. Don't leave the ward. If the child gets lost, we won't be able to find him again."

Bonnie wasn't bluffing; child abductions happen all the time, and nine out of ten children are never found again.

"I know, I understand."

Lin Nan had also heard of and seen cases of people going crazy after losing their children; it was terrifying.

Bonnie took her things to the washroom. When she returned, her uncle, aunt, and Sanqi had already arrived.

"Why are you here too?"

Bonnie saw Ye Ge looking mournful. This guy changes his expression so quickly. Just a moment ago he was congratulating Lin Nan with a smile, but now he looks so aggrieved.

"I went home, but I can't get into the house."

When Gu Ye got home from get off work, he was startled to find the door locked. After searching around but finding no note or anything, he ran to his uncle's restaurant and learned that Lin Nan's wife had given birth.

"Oh, I forgot. I was in such a hurry when I got a call from my aunt that I didn't have time to call you back or leave a note. You must have been worried."

Sanqi watched his dad perform face-changing and thought it was so childish, and he even acted like a child with his mom.

Gu Ye and his wife were whispering to each other when a foul odor wafted out – the baby had passed meconium.

That night, Bonnie stayed at the hospital. Dingxiang wasn't fully awake yet, and Lin Nan and her aunt were a little worried. With Bonnie there, they felt reassured.

Gu Ye and Sanqi went home together. Along the way, Sanqi saw his father turn around several times!

The next morning, the effects of the anesthetic wore off, and the person regained consciousness and even passed gas.

"Auntie, everything's alright now. I'm going back to pack up and get ready for work. I'll come back tonight. Dingxiang, listen to the doctor's instructions. If you need to go, you have to go. Even if it hurts, you have to endure it."

Bonnie gave a round of instructions and then hurried home to change and go to work. Yesterday went well; the child didn't cause any trouble, nothing serious happened, and she rested well enough to be on time for work.

Dingxiang recovered well; after a few days in the hospital, the doctor discharged her.

Bonnie would occasionally go over to check on her, but she couldn't offer any real help.

The time that followed flew by like a whirlwind. The baby turned one month old, the weather got hot, it was July, and the college entrance exam was just around the corner.

In August, Bonnie received a call from her mother informing her that her second child had been accepted into university, and not just any university, but one in Beijing.

Bonnie knows that university; it's a pretty good undergraduate institution where Erbao studies mechanical engineering, which is something Erbao likes.

Mu Jiaojiao was incredibly lucky; she scored 0.5 points above the cutoff and got into their school's high school.

Commander Mu was overjoyed and wanted to come over to thank Sanqi in person, but Mu Beifang, who had returned home, stopped him.

"Dad, are you repaying kindness with enmity?"

"How can you talk like that?"

Commander Mu was furious, but he was also very happy and extremely grateful to Sanqi.

"If you go there with such a big fuss, how will Sanqi ever be able to stay quiet? People, whether they know him or not, will all have to ask him for help, won't they?"

"Oh? Really, I was so excited I forgot. If I can't go, I'll make a call, I'll call myself."

Commander Mu also came to his senses, realizing he had almost caused a disaster.

Mu Beifang watched his father rush into the study and thought to himself, "Mu Nanfang has found a good partner. Not only does he like her, but she also benefits his family!"
