When Bonnie woke up, Gu Ye was still asleep. He had gone to visit troops during the day and then drove for more than an hour to get back in the evening. He was exhausted.

The phone rang, and Bonnie picked up the receiver. Liu Jiu's voice came through.
"Mom, we've bought the train tickets. They're for the sixth day of the Lunar New Year. Auntie is going back with us, so you don't need to worry."
"Did your aunt come back with you?"
Bonnie didn't know what had happened, nor had she heard anything about the Shen family elders.
"My uncle is being transferred back to Beijing after the New Year, so my aunt went back ahead of time to make preparations. I'll tell you the details when we get back; my aunt just found out about it herself."
