"Oh, my dear Liu Jiu, you want to eat mackerel dumplings. Wait for me to make them for you right away. Your uncle just caught some fresh mackerel this morning."
Bonnie looked at her mother's beaming face. It was as if she had forgotten about the older one now that she had a younger one. She hadn't even looked at Bonnie properly since she came in; her eyes were only on Liu Jiu.
Liu Jiu followed her maternal grandmother into the kitchen. Bao Ni ignored them and went inside to see what her grandmother was doing.

There were quite a few fruits on the tree. Bonnie reached out and picked one, rubbed it against the tree, and took a bite. It was quite sweet.
Bonnie quickly climbed the tree and picked apples into her basket. She filled another basket with apples from that tree.
