Chapter 480 Gu Yun Chu Becomes a Reference Point

The Gu family talked, laughed, and even their tears were tears of happiness.

Other families in the compound were not so calm, especially those with children of the same age, who began to reflect on whether there was a problem with their parenting.

Commander Ma didn't go anywhere else; he went straight home. The college entrance exam was less than two months away, and Zijun's grades were still at risk.

"Grandpa, you're back! How was the movie? Did you enjoy it?"

Ma Zijun went downstairs to get a drink of water and just happened to see his grandfather push the door open and come in.

"Very good, the filming is quite realistic."

Commander Ma was still thinking about his two children at home, so how could he be so calm, composed, and not at all intimidated?

"Really? I'll go check it out after the college entrance exam. Who translated it for you, and how was it?"

Ma Zijun knew that foreign films were all in English, with almost no dubbed films.

"The two children of Commander Gu."

"Gu Yun Chu and Gu San Qi?"

Ma Zijun was quite surprised. He knew that the Gu family's child was good at English, but could it be that good?

"I don't know their names, a girl and a little boy."

Commander Ma hadn't heard of his name before; he was too busy marveling at it.

"That's it. Gu Xuanyi is a year older than Gu Yun Chu. Did they translate very well?"

"Very good, very fluent, and very expressive. Everyone says that Gu family children are good at studying, especially English, and I've seen it for myself today."

Commander Ma had only heard a little about it before and thought it was a bit exaggerated.

"Yes, especially Gu Yun Chu, she has excellent military skills. I've been thinking of sparring with her, but there hasn't been a suitable opportunity."

Ma Zijun was also quite regretful, as he missed that one and only opportunity.

"There will be opportunities in the future. Right now, you need to relax and focus on preparing for the college entrance examination. Nothing else matters."

Commander Ma didn't want to put too much pressure on Ma Zijun, fearing he wouldn't be able to handle it.

The chief of staff next door was also discussing Liu Jiu and the others, and Chief of Staff Liang was also watching the movie today.

"Liang Yuan, where are you going?"

As Chief of Staff Liang entered, his youngest daughter was dressed up in a very pretty dress. "It's only a few months old! Wearing a dress like that, aren't her thighs cold?" he thought.

"I made plans with my classmates to go see a movie."

Fifteen-year-old Liang Yuan is 1.56 meters tall, but her figure is like her mother's, and there are already signs of puberty. Her originally childlike face looks somewhat mature because of the makeup.

"What are you watching? The high school entrance exam is coming up soon. Are you confident you can get into our school's high school? Look at the Gu family's kids. They're the same age as you, good at studying, good at physical fitness, and can translate English movies."

"And what are you wearing? Is it that hot outside? Wearing a skirt? Where's your mother? What kind of mother does she have to raise you like this? Your face is all smeared like a monkey's butt. What kind of appearance is this? Go inside and wash up and change your clothes."

"Wow... Gu Yun Chu is great, go find Gu Yun Chu to be your daughter."

Liang Yuan had never been spoken to like that by her father before, and she ran back upstairs crying loudly.

Chief of Staff Liang has been in a bad mood lately. Before the Lunar New Year, he cracked down on those dancers. His wife was sick and didn't go dancing for a few days, so she escaped the crackdown. However, everyone in the neighborhood knows that Chief of Staff Liang's wife often goes dancing, which is incredibly embarrassing for her.

I was just thinking of watching a movie to relax, but I ended up seeing all those other kids' amazing children again. Then I thought about my own daughter, and it's true what they say, there's no harm in comparison. At the same age, what can my daughter do besides love to eat and dress up?

"What's wrong? Why are you so angry again?"

Chief of Staff Liang's wife came out of the house. She had been asleep, but their shouts startled her and she was awakened.

"Why am I getting angry? Didn't you see what Liang Yuan was dressed like? It's still so cold, and she's already wearing a skirt, and her face is all smeared with makeup. She's about to take the high school entrance exam, and instead of focusing on her studies, she's doing all this useless stuff."

After saying that, Chief of Staff Liang went to his study in a huff.

Liang Yuan's mother was left standing there awkwardly. She felt guilty about the dancing incident and didn't know how to argue with him.

Hearing the crying, Liang Qi came downstairs and saw his mother looking bewildered.

"Mom, what's wrong? Why is Liang Yuan crying?"

“Your dad scolded her. I’m going to check on her. You don’t need to worry about her, go and study.”

Liang Qi knew that his parents had argued several times since the dancing incident before the Lunar New Year had caused such a stir. He didn't understand whether dancing was right or wrong; he just hoped the matter would pass quickly.

Unlike the tense atmosphere at the Liang family's home, the situation at the Mu family's home was quite different.

"Nanfang, do you think it's too late for me to be stricter with Jiaojiao now?"

When Commander Mu entered the house, he didn't see his youngest daughter; only his wife and eldest daughter-in-law were in the living room.

"What happened? What's wrong with Jiaojiao?"

When Mu's mother heard her husband mention their youngest daughter, she thought something had happened and quickly asked.

"Jiaojiao didn't do anything, I just said I was jealous of Commander Gu's daughter. She's a year older than Jiaojiao, and she's good at military skills and studies, especially English. She can translate English movies directly."

Upon hearing this, Mother Mu was relieved; she had thought Jiaojiao had gotten into trouble. Her daughter had been spoiled and was rather naive.

“Dad, you don’t need to worry about it. Gu Yun Chu has been doing morning exercises with you since he was three years old, practicing horse stance, and he has never stopped for all these years. No matter how strictly you demand that Mu Jiao Jiao reach his level, their mental fortitude and perseverance are not even in the same league.”

Mu Nanfang finally got a chance to speak. His father was too presumptuous; Mu Jiaojiao and Liu Jiu were not comparable.
