Chapter 490 Mu Nanfang stayed at the Gu family's house for dinner

After entering June, Bonnie focused all her attention on Liu Jiu and Xuan Yi.

The eldest sister will be in charge of meal planning, and Bao Ni will be responsible for emotional stability. We won't be going to Teacher Zhai's place for now; Liu Jiu and Xuan Yi's abilities are sufficient for the college entrance exam.

For the remainder of the time, Liu Jiu focused on science subjects, while Xuan Yi focused on humanities subjects, which were their relatively weak areas.

"Sixty-nine, did you understand this question?"

"Mu Nanfang, you're really good, I understand. Won't this interfere with your studies? I've heard that computers are quite difficult to learn?"

Liu Jiu thanked Mu Nanfang. She had been taught by Brother Xuanyu before, but since last week, Brother Xuanyu has been working on a project and can't come back at all.

Just then, Mu Nanfang returned and, upon learning of the situation, volunteered to tutor Liu Jiu and Xuan Yi. He mainly focused on teaching Liu Jiu; Xuan Yi's humanities subjects were primarily based on memorization, so he didn't require much instruction.

"Computers are alright, not as difficult as you might imagine. They're amazing things. I'll teach you during the summer vacation. In the future, computers will be used in various fields, including the military."

Mu Nanfang felt this was a rare opportunity, a chance to be openly with Liu Jiu, and that it was worth the more than an hour he had spent cycling back and forth.

“I’ve also read foreign military magazines and know that this is a direction for development. I’ll study with you properly during the summer vacation. Right now, you’re teaching me three or four days a week, which is too tiring for you.”

Liu Jiu felt very bad, because it takes Mu Nanfang more than an hour to ride his bicycle from school to home.

"It's okay. I always come back when I have fewer classes in the afternoon. I treat it as exercise. It's only been about a month. I'm a grown man, what's there to be afraid of if it's hard?"

Liu Jiu looked up at Mu Nanfang. Without her noticing, Mu Nanfang had really changed a lot. He was now over 1.8 meters tall, and the most obvious change was in his Adam's apple when he spoke. Boys and girls really are different.

Liu Jiu felt that since the New Year, her height had remained at 1.69 meters and had not grown any taller, but other parts of her body had changed quite noticeably.

"What are you looking at?"

"If boys all develop Adam's apples, does that mean they'll grow facial hair too?"

Nineteen-year-old Mu Nanfang felt a little uncomfortable being asked by Liu Jiu, so he patted her head.

"Look at the question quickly, don't get distracted."

"I know, I was just curious."

Liu Jiu muttered something and started doing the questions. These were some advanced questions that Mu Nanfang and the teacher had found, in case the exam questions were particularly difficult.

Liu Jiu diligently worked on the exercises, while Mu Nanfang also began reading his own book. Mu Nanfang would explain anything Liu Jiu didn't understand.

The study was quiet, with occasional hushed discussions that quickly faded away.

Bonnie downstairs glanced at the time; it was almost noon, time for lunch.

"Six-nine, South, come down for dinner."

Bonnie called out from the stairwell, and Gu Xuanyi, hearing the call, was the first to come out, also knocking on the study door.

"Let's go eat. I wonder what delicious food Aunt Xiang made today?"

"Aunt Xiang's cooking is delicious; I think it's better than my housekeeper's."

The last time Mu Nanfang was tutoring Liu Jiu, when it was time for dinner, Bao Ni invited him to stay for the meal. Mu Nanfang declined a few times, but then sat down next to Liu Jiu. He has now become a regular at the Gu family's dining table.

"Hurry up, we're having cold noodles for lunch. This taste is absolutely amazing. Mom and Aunt Xiang's collaboration is a perfect match, a truly flawless partnership."

Sanqi has recently become obsessed with the martial arts novels his father brought home, to the point where he's almost neglecting to eat or sleep.

Liu Jiu and Xuan Yi also like it, but they dare not watch it, afraid they will not be able to control themselves. They will watch it after the exam. Their aunt has already prepared a complete set of Jin Yong's works and will send it over after the exam.

A huge bowl of noodles, two large plates of vegetable toppings, a heap of meat sauce, and in the end, nothing was left.

"Bonnie, you can't raise so many children without some family wealth!"

Sister Xiang sighed once again, saying that she usually eats a lot, but she never felt this way as much as when she ate noodles.

"There was nothing I could do. We were all growing up. When I was little, I was strong and had a big appetite. Those three years, in particular, really worried my parents. Luckily, I was able to go up the mountain and down to the sea on my own, so I didn't go hungry."

"Don't even mention those years. I worked in a state-run restaurant, and I never even had a chance to feed my child properly. It was really tough."

The two recalled the past with trepidation. Back then, there were rumors of cannibalism, but they didn't know if it was true or not.

In the afternoon, Liu Jiu studied science for another two hours before starting to review humanities subjects, while Mu Nanfang prepared to go home.

"Liu Jiu, you can memorize the questions yourself. I'm going back now. The day after tomorrow night, find the questions you don't know and I'll explain them to you."

"Understood, Mu Nanfang, thank you."

Mu Nanfang patted Liu Jiu on the head, thinking, "She really doesn't know anything."

"I'm leaving now, see you the day after tomorrow."

Liu Jiu saw Mu Nanfang downstairs, and Bao Ni came out carrying a basket of vegetables.

“Nanfang, take this back with you. I grew it myself, and it’s just the right amount to eat. There are also fish down there, which I raised myself. You’ve worked so hard these past few days, and you wouldn’t accept money from me. From now on, just tell me what kind of vegetables you want from my house.”

"Okay, Aunt Gu, I love the vegetables you grow. They taste much better than the ones sold in the market."

Mu Nanfang took the basket of vegetables; it was really heavy. Aunt Gu was a very honest person.

"Sigh, the South must be having a tough time."

Bonnie really liked Mu Nanfang, who was carrying a basket and walking steadily.

"Southern region, where did you get these vegetables from? They're so fresh!"
