Han Ye passed away, and Gu Ye was depressed for several days. To Zhou Weihong, Han Ye was not a good husband, but a betrayer of their marriage. To Gu Ye, he was his childhood friend, his best buddy, with whom he shared countless memories.
As a friend, he is qualified.
Bonnie, with her child, quietly stayed by Gu Ye's side during those heartbreaking days.
When you reach a certain age and say goodbye to friends of the same age, you may feel a little scared, wondering if you will be next.
Time flies, and two months later Mu Nanfang returned, taking away the two little ones from the family. Gu Ye and Bao Ni's travel team was also ready and about to embark on a long journey.
"Bonnie, where are we going?"
"Do you have a destination in mind? How about we go to Tibet, see the snow-capped mountains, and visit the Potala Palace?"
Bonnie had never been before, but for some reason, she had a vague idea in her mind that she wanted to go to Tibet.
"Tibet, that's a legendary holy land, I want to go and see it too."
Zhou Weihong wanted to go, to pay homage, to purify her soul, and to forget all the unpleasant things.
"Then let's make some plans. Going to Tibet is not like going to other places. The altitude is high, and there will be altitude sickness. We can't be careless. Safety should be our top priority. It's okay if we can't reach the Potala Palace."
"Okay, I'll go back and take a look."
Zhou Weihong left excitedly, and Bao Ni went to Gu Ye to discuss the feasibility of going to Tibet.
When Sanqi and Liujiu found out, they didn't stop it. Instead, they did their best to help improve the plan, design feasible routes, contact people they knew, and find people to look after them along the way.
In early September, Gu Ye and Bao Ni, Bai Chaoyang and his wife, Wu Fang and her husband, and Zhou Weihong and her husband set off for Tibet to see the Potala Palace.
Commander Mu and his wife missed the trip because Mu Beifang and his wife couldn't return on time. Sister-in-law Gu couldn't join them either, because her younger daughter-in-law was pregnant and suffering from severe morning sickness; besides, everyone else was in pairs, and she felt lonely and uncomfortable.
The eight people traveled by car all the way to Tibet. Liu Jiu and San Qi arranged for someone to guide them and accompany them on their tour. With locals and a guide who could speak Mandarin, everything went smoothly for Gu Ye and his group.
After a short rest, on the third day, we arrived at the Potala Palace, which we had been longing to visit.
Because of thorough preparation and timely response to altitude sickness, everyone was fine and did not experience any particular discomfort.
I spent a day visiting the Potala Palace, and I felt my heart and soul were cleansed from the inside out.
That evening, back at their hotel in the city, the group didn't say much more and quickly went to their rooms to rest.
Bonnie slept soundly. In her dream, she returned to her old home and saw Old Jiang, who looked exactly the same as when she left.
And my mother and younger brother, they haven't changed either.
Until Lao Jiang received a phone call, he rushed out, his face pale, his hands trembling as he gripped the steering wheel. Bao Ni saw Lao Jiang take a deep breath before starting the car again, driving at a considerable speed and honking the horn the whole time—something Lao Jiang would never do!
When I arrived at the hospital, I saw myself lying in the emergency room, still so young.
The doctor gave him another shock, once, twice, three times. The wires on the device straightened, and Old Jiang suddenly sat down on the ground.
"Beep beep..."
The suture, which had been straightened, started to undulate again. The doctor began to move it, and Old Jiang wiped his face, wiped away his tears, and watched nervously.
Afterwards, when Bonnie saw Jiang Jiaojiao wake up, she looked blank and then fainted again. When she woke up again, her eyes looked different.
Bonnie knew that the real Lin Bonnie had woken up inside her body.
After being discharged from the hospital, Jiang Jiaojiao rested at home for a period of time and retired from the swimming team. Because of the rescue, she developed a lung infection, and even after recovering, she was no longer suitable for swimming.
Bonnie watched as Jiang Jiaojiao gradually adapted to her new life and accepted her new family. She slowly learned everything about modern life, and fortunately, she was very smart and did well in her studies, getting along well with Lao Jiang as well.
Perhaps because he witnessed his daughter's lifeline briefly stop, Old Jiang stopped being strict with her and allowed her to live as she pleased.
Jiang Jiaojiao, after graduating from university, passed the exam for a civilian position in the military, working at a naval base, close to home. The family of four lived happily together, occasionally visiting their grandparents.
At the age of 25, Jiang Jiaojiao was introduced to an outstanding naval officer. After dating for more than a year, they felt they were a good match and decided to get married. They attended a group wedding held by the military, which was very lively and meaningful.
Then, as if fast-forwarding, Bonnie witnessed Jiang Jiaojiao's pregnancy and childbirth, and later, the birth of her second child, making her a family of four with both a son and a daughter, living happily together.
After retiring, Old Jiang became more kind and gentle. He often played with his granddaughter and grandson and also encouraged his youngest son to make progress.
Bonnie smiled, relieved. Old Jiang and the others were doing well, and Lin Bonnie—no, Jiang Jiaojiao—was doing well too. She laughed heartily in her dream.
"Honey, Bonnie, what's wrong? Were you having a dream?"
"What?"
"What were you dreaming about? You were so happy, laughing out loud! Your laughter woke me up!"
Bonnie rubbed her eyes, listening to her brother's voice, feeling his body temperature, and thinking about everything in her dream. A certain part of her heart completely relaxed.
"I don't remember, I just felt very happy."
"You must have been dreaming about me!"
Gu Ye was very confident. He hugged Bao Ni and lay down again. It was still dark.
"Maybe, otherwise, why would I be so happy?"
"Yeah, go to sleep, we're going to play again tomorrow."
Bonnie slept soundly this time and didn't dream of anything.
The next day, Bonnie felt refreshed and full of energy.
A group of people traveled in Tibet for more than a month, and visited all the places in Tibet where they did not experience altitude sickness, except for places with very high altitudes.
Goodbye, Tibet, goodbye, Badala Palace!
Goodbye, and goodbye forever!
"I'm in such a good mood, Bonnie! Let's go to Yunnan next time, to Xishuangbanna!"
"You could also go to Northeast China to see where the sun rises earliest!"
...
On their way back, they planned to visit various parts of their country.
Lin Baoni, Jiang Jiaojiao, we are all well!
