Chapter 3: Sister-in-law, Mother-in-law, and Daughter-in-law

With the protection of Zhan's mother, Tang Qiyue felt confident in the Zhan family.

Whether it was her sarcastic sister-in-law or her uncle's family who doubted her intentions, Tang Qiyue always greeted them with a smile.

Because it was a wedding for good luck, there was no bridal chamber, and naturally there would be no bridal chamber pranks. The Zhan family did not hold a big banquet, but just had a meal together as a family.

After dinner, Tang Qiuyue took off her wedding dress, changed into everyday clothes, rolled up her sleeves, and went into the kitchen with her sister-in-law to wash and clean.

She was obviously a delicate daughter of a capitalist family, but she didn't cause any trouble and didn't despise the Zhan family.

Zhan Chunying is not a fool. Since she was pushed out to marry her younger brother, Tang Qiyue must have had a hard time in the Tang family.

"Hey, how come you, a grown-up lady, can do these things?"

When Tang Qiuyue skillfully broke the firewood and threw it into the stove, and used a match to light the straw to start the fire, Zhan Chunying finally couldn't help but speak.

Zhan Chunying, who was only sixteen years old, was fearless and had a particularly impulsive temper. If Tang Qiyue hadn't had a good attitude, she would probably have thought that this sister-in-law was looking for trouble.

"My mom and dad divorced more than ten years ago. My mom, my brother and I live alone. Although we have a maid at home, she still has to work!"

Tang Qiyue looked up and smiled at Zhan Chunying: "If you don't want to call me sister-in-law, just call me Qiyue. I am only two years older than you!"

She just came of age this year.

Zhan Chunying was silent.

She knew how difficult it was to grow up in a single-parent family. Her mother was a widow who raised three children alone. Her eldest brother got married early and almost brought the family down. Her youngest brother joined the army at a young age just to save food for the family. Later, he sent money home every month, which made life better for the family.

Later, the younger brother made great achievements and became more and more capable. He wanted to take his family to join the army, but Zhan's mother disagreed, saying that the eldest son should support the family, and without the eldest son, he would go to the youngest son's house.

To put it bluntly, she was afraid that the whole family would become a burden to her younger brother. He risked his life to earn military merits in the army, and his mother felt distressed seeing this.

Originally, Zhan's mother was definitely not happy about the marriage with the Tang family. It was the Tang family that relied on the young brother. However, after knowing that the young brother was injured, especially after it affected his offspring, not only did the girl run away, but they also wanted to marry her off to save their reputation.

Zhan Chunying looked down on the Tang family's behavior, but after seeing Tang Qiyue, she felt that it was a good change. At least Tang Qiyue was good-looking, and the key was that she did not have the style of a young lady, was not spoiled, and could work.

They were busy until dark, and the Zhan family had no habit of lighting a lamp to work. In order to save lamp oil, they turned off the lights and went to bed early.

Zhan's mother came to Tang Qiyue's room in the dark and said, "My daughter, I have one more question for you. If you are not willing, then this marriage is off. You should leave before it gets dark. I know my son's situation and I can't delay you!"

There was no way Tang Qiyue would leave. Not to mention that the Tang family was about to fall into misfortune, she also wanted to rely on this marriage to completely sever her brother's ties with the Tang family. What's more, her current identity was very embarrassing. Even if she went home, she could not escape the fate of being dragged to the countryside.

"Mom, I'm staying here sincerely. I know that Second Brother Zhan is injured and needs someone to take care of him. There will be a boat in three days, and I will take it to take care of him. As long as he doesn't despise me, I will be his wife!"

Perhaps it was the sincerity in Tang Qiyue's eyes that eliminated the last bit of worry for Zhan's mother. She took out a handkerchief from her pocket, opened it into three layers, and in the middle lay an emerald green bracelet.

"Mother doesn't have any good things. This is my dowry back then. It's a little token of my appreciation."

Zhan's mother put the bracelet on Tang Qiyue's wrist.

Even someone who doesn't know the value of something can tell that this bracelet is extraordinary. Moreover, Tang Qiyue has seen a lot of antique jewelry since she was a child, so she naturally knows the value of this bracelet.

"Mom, this thing is too valuable, I can't accept it!"

But Zhan's mother held her wrist and said, "Your sister-in-law has one too, so wear it with confidence!"

When Tang Qiuyue heard that her sister-in-law also had one, she thought that she agreed with her daughter-in-law's wishes, so she did not refuse. It would be better to hide it later to avoid being seen and tempted by others.

After all, the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law were not familiar with each other, so they didn't say much. They just gave a few instructions and then went to bed.

It was not until she lay in bed that Tang Qiyue felt a sense of reality.

Compared to the mental tension of the end of the world, although life here is hard, there is no need to worry about monsters appearing and dying at any time. It is okay to suffer a little physical pain as long as she is diligent enough and has enough food and drink.

Just as she closed her eyes and was about to sleep, a voice suddenly popped up in her mind.

[Plane fluctuations detected, cross-plane trading system connection successful, do you want to check the trading platform? ]

Tang Qiyue sat up suddenly.

In the dark night, her eyes widened, and she remembered why she had an accident in the end of the world. It was because she was enveloped by a light when she was searching for the unknown area, and then she returned to her first life.

When she came back, she was faced with the battle of wits and courage with Tang's father to marry her in her place. She had no time to think at all. Now she understood that it was definitely not simple for that light to allow her to be reborn.

"Check!"

What supernatural power had Tang Qiyue not seen in the apocalypse? What strange things had she not heard of?

It’s not that she hasn’t fantasized about having superpowers, but she is just an ordinary person, struggling at the bottom of the world, barely surviving with all her efforts.

Now it is clear that everything is because what she possesses is not supernatural powers, but the time and space of two lives.

As the trading platform slowly unfolded before her and various trading items appeared on it, Tang Qiyue became more certain that her rebirth was not an accident.

Food, clothing, housing and transportation, anything she can think of is available on the trading platform, but the items traded are of equal value in two time and space.

For example, pregnancy potions are not precious in the end times. After all, in order to facilitate childbirth, the country is almost giving them away for free, and the money needed to exchange for pregnancy potions only costs the value of a steamed bun.

What’s the difference between this and giving it away for free?

Tang Qiuyue couldn't sleep that night. She studied the trading system over and over again, so much so that when she got up to cook the next morning, her mother was startled.

"Oh my God, you didn't sleep all night? Are you worried about my son?"

Tang Qiyue laughed dryly. She was not worried about the man she had never met, but she was too excited and couldn't say it out loud.

"Mom, I'm just thinking about taking care of Brother Zhan the day after tomorrow. I wonder if he will dislike me!"

Mother Zhan held Tang Qiyue's hand and said, "He dares. If he despises me, I won't recognize him as my son!"

Tang Qiyue immediately hugged Zhan's mother's arm: "I know mother is the best!"

Zhan's mother was not used to Tang Qiyue's sudden affection and coquettishness. Just as she was about to push her away, she heard the courtyard door being pushed open. A cold voice broke the cheerful atmosphere between the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.
