Chapter 87 Abalone Porridge

"What are you doing?"

Zhan Zeye pulled Tang Qiyue away before Bai Xu succeeded, and Bai Xu hugged Zhan Zeye instead.

Tang Xiuyuan and Tang Qiyue saw this scene from the side and didn't know what to say for a moment.

Tang Xiuyuan, in particular, stared wide-eyed, and after a long pause, he finally said, "Brother Xu, are you interested in my brother-in-law?"

Tang Qiyue glanced at Tang Xiuyuan, and Tang Xiuyuan laughed dryly.

He was just frightened and said something nonsense.

"Put him on the bed quickly. I'll take his temperature!"

Tang Qiuyue took out the thermometer. Fortunately, she had thought it through and the spare thermometers were all mercury column ones, not black technology.

Zhan Zeye picked up Bai Xu and put him on the bed. Bai Xu's thin body as a technician was not at all pleasing to Zhan Zeye's eyes.

If it weren't for the concern that Tang Qiyue was watching, Zhan Zeye would have thrown Bai Xu to the ground.

"Give it to me, I'll measure it for him!"

Zhan Zeye took the thermometer from Tang Qiyue's hand, shook it with gritted teeth, and poked it into Bai Xu's armpit. In fact, he wanted to poke it into Bai Xu's mouth.

Bai Xu was already confused by the fever and refused to cooperate at all. Zhan Zeye had to hold him down, looking unhappy.

Tang Xiuyuan, who was standing next to him, stopped laughing and went over to help hold Bai Xu down, at least to get his temperature measured.

Tang Qiyue could see that Bai Xu's problem was very serious. He couldn't have a persistent high fever. She had already exchanged the antipyretic medicine, but she was helpless because her points were reset to zero.

She thought it would be better to go to the sea the next day. At least she could find some good things that could allow her to exchange points. She also thought of a way and thought about trying it out if she had the chance. If she succeeded, she would not have to worry about points.

All kinds of thoughts were running through my mind as a few minutes passed. When I took out the thermometer, it was indeed very high, soaring to almost 40 degrees.

"Brother Xu, will you be burned stupid?"

Tang Xiuyuan was very worried, even Bai Xu's teacher came over, they were all very worried about Bai Xu's condition.

Tang Qiyue handed the medicine to Zhan Zeye. She wanted to feed it herself, but she was afraid that Zhan Zeye would think too much.

Zhan Zeye was very fierce. He stuffed the pill directly into Bai Xu's mouth without any water. He just stroked it against his throat and the pill was swallowed.

It will take some time for this pill to take effect, so Tang Qiyue asked Tang Xiuyuan to get some warm water for Bai Xu to drink.

While waiting, Tang Qiyue had nothing to do, so she looked around Bai Xu and Tang Xiuyuan's dormitories. It was obvious that Tang Xiuyuan's bed was much messier.

Although Tang Xiuyuan has good self-care ability, he is the young master of the Tang family after all, and someone takes care of his daily life. Suddenly coming to the island, even with Bai Xu's help, it is still impossible.

Fortunately, he didn't have many things. The bed was littered with clothes and books, and the table next to him was covered with books and draft papers. It was obvious that he was very hardworking.

Tang Qiyue did not help to clean up, but instead looked at the bamboo tube on the table, which was where she had previously stored the chili sauce.

Now that it’s empty, it’s impossible that Tang Xiuyuan ate it all by himself. He probably shared it with others.

When Tang Qiyue looked around, the old man had already pulled Zhan Zeye aside and asked, "Your wife knows medicine?"

Zhan Zeye shook his head: "I just have medicine in my hand!"

He didn't want to draw too much attention to Tang Qiyue, and his intuition told him that it was best not to do so.

The old man didn't believe it, but he didn't ask any further questions. Instead, he asked him other questions: "How have you been feeling lately? How is your recovery? How much of an impact have you still suffered from that place?"

Zhan Zeye shook his head: "I'll talk to you about this later!"

We are all human beings now, so it is not appropriate to discuss this topic.

The old man then realized that he was too abrupt. He was so busy getting the answer that he forgot that his student was still running a fever and that there were other people in the room.

"The fever's gone!"

Tang Xiuyuan had been wiping Bai Xu's forehead with a towel and had been keeping the thermometer under Bai Xu's armpit. When he pulled it out, he found that the temperature had dropped a little. He knew that the medicine was working, so he shouted happily.

Tang Qiyue also let out a breath.

If the fever can be reduced, there won't be any big problem.

"I'll go back and make some meat porridge so Brother Xu can have some when he wakes up!"

Tang Qiyue knew that it was not a good idea to ask the canteen to make porridge for Bai Xu alone at this time. Since she lived not far away, she could just go back and make it and send it over.

Zhan Zeye was worried. Since he couldn't help much by staying, he went back with Tang Qiyue.

No one said anything along the way, after all, Tang Qiyue was in a hurry to get on with her journey.

She returned home and went straight to the kitchen, found a bag of millet, lit a fire to boil water, and when the water boiled, she added the millet that had been soaked for a while.

While the millet porridge was cooking, she took out some semi-dried abalone, cut it into cubes and threw it into the pot.

She wanted to put some vegetables in it, but she thought that the system's affairs must not be exposed. Fortunately, there were still some Chinese cabbages in the kitchen that the one-eyed uncle had someone send over. Since she had not eaten them, she replanted them in the vegetable garden in the yard.

She picked a few, washed them, chopped them up and put them aside, and then threw them into the millet porridge when it was ready to add flavor.

Zhan Zeye had been sitting next to Tang Qiyue watching her busy work. He felt unhappy but did not show it.

It was only when Tang Qiyue put the cooked millet porridge into the lunch box that she realized Zhan Zeye had been staring at her.

"Are you hungry? There's some left in the pot. I'll decorate it for you!"

Tang Qiyue took a bowl, poured out the remaining porridge in the pot and handed it to Zhan Zeye.

Zhan Zeye originally wanted to make a few sarcastic remarks and then refuse stubbornly, but when he saw the porridge still steaming in front of him, he finally took it.

He told himself that even if he was angry, he couldn't be angry with his stomach.

So he drank the porridge quickly. The dried abalone had just the right amount of freshness and fragrance. Although the green vegetables had a green and astringent taste, they just made up for the rough taste of the millet porridge. The salt was the finishing touch, making this ordinary bowl of millet porridge delicious.

After Zhan Zeye finished drinking, he opened his mouth to say a few words of praise, but found that Tang Qiyue had already washed the pot and walked out with the lunch box.

Zhan Zeye: ...

His wife was anxious to send food to another man. Although he was his cheap brother-in-law, she still felt uncomfortable.

He chased after her and grabbed her arm: "Watch the road, he just has a fever, not hungry!"

It was clearly a nice thing to say, but when Zhan Zeye said it, it made people feel gnashed teeth.

Tang Qiyue did not struggle to break free from Zhan Zeye's hand, but just smiled.

"I know, it's just that the medicine works very quickly. The side effect of quickly reducing fever is a lot of sweating. Drinking water won't make up for the lost body fluids. He still needs to drink some porridge to moisten his stomach!"

Explain to him patiently, and the two of them walked very fast under the moonlight.

From time to time, flying insects would fly over, but Zhan Zeye would wave his hands and chase them away. Tang Qiyue didn't pay attention at first, but after walking for a while, she realized that Zhan Zeye had been waving his arms.

It felt good to be taken care of, so she decided to reward this cold-looking but warm-hearted man.
