…
Two hours later, Qiao Qingqing, disguised once again, appeared at the entrance of the black market in the south of the city.
After three months, her belly had grown bigger, and Qiao Qingqing could no longer pretend to be a man. She simply dressed up as a simple country woman, smearing dirt on her face to make her complexion as dark and yellow as before.
The little brother saw that she was happy and hurried over to greet her.
"Big sister, you are here."
Qiao Qingqing smiled gently, "Zi, is Brother Sun at home today?"
Xiaoyu nodded: "We should be eating at home now, big sister, can I take you there?"
"No, I can do it myself. This is for you."
Qiao Qingqing took out a fish from the basket she was carrying.
Xiaoyu scratched his head and said, "The boss said I can't always take your things for free."
"No, if you don't tell me and I don't tell you, Brother Sun won't know either. If you're really sorry, then if I need your help in the future, please help me."
"Okay!" Xiaoyu said and then he chuckled.
Qiao Qingqing turned around and went to Sun Zhong's house.
Just as Xiaoyu said, Sun Zhong was at home having dinner with his wife.
When I saw Qiao Qingqing, I naturally knew why she came.
Sun Zhong and Huang Xiuxiu first invited her to have lunch together, but Qiao Qingqing was in a hurry to return to the village to avoid running into Zhou Jianbin and his friends on the way, so she refused: "No! Brother Sun, sister-in-law, I had lunch before I came here. Time is tight today, I'll chat with you another day."
Hearing this, Sun Zhong immediately put down his chopsticks and stood up.
"In that case, let's go."
Seeing Qiao Qingqing's puzzled expression, Sun Zhong smiled and said, "Don't you want a cow? I can't hide this thing at home. I'm just waiting for you to come and take it with you."
Qiao Qingqing was overjoyed: "Did you really get a cow?"
"We'll talk while we're at it."
Sun Zhongjing picked up his coat and headed for the door.
"A Zhong, then please come back soon." Huang Xiu shouted from behind while holding the child.
Sun Zhong responded, and Qiao Qingqing also said goodbye to Huang Xiuyu and followed Sun Zhong away.
"I asked people to inquire in the village below, and finally got this cow."
Qiao Qingqing followed Sun Zhong all the way out of the city and listened to him talk about the cow.
"This is a calf that was born just over three months ago. The villagers originally planned to sell the calf for money after it was weaned. I happened to find it, so I bought it in advance. It cost me 100 yuan! The only shortcoming of this calf is that it is thin. After buying it, I have to take good care of it for a while before letting it work."
Qiao Qingqing was ecstatic. This was truly an unexpected surprise. She had thought that even if Sun Zhong could get a cow, it would only be an old cow.
"Where is the calf now? Is it far from here?" Qiao Qingqing asked, suppressing her excitement.
Sun Zhong looked at her big belly and said, "Sister, I know your situation well. How could you leave it so far away? We have built a simple cowshed outside the city. In the past half month, we brothers have taken turns to stay overnight and herd cattle there. Fortunately, this calf has reached the age where it can be weaned, otherwise we would have to worry about how to feed it..."
The two chatted as they talked.
More than thirty minutes later, Qiao Qingqing saw the simple cowshed that Sun Zhong mentioned.
Four pillars supported a few tattered mats, on top of which were branches that someone had gotten from somewhere. A "bed" was made of branches piled up under the cowshed, which was indeed very crude.
When the two men came over, Sun Zhong was talking to a skinny calf.
"Damn it, I'm so unlucky. I took you out to eat grass out of kindness, but you didn't appreciate it and you even pooped a big pile of shit at my feet..."
