Chapter 57: Picking Up a Lost Loot (2/2)

Zhao San curled his lips. No matter how prosperous the Lu family was, Yang Liansheng was still stuck in the mud and was no different from them.

They are all miserable people.

The boy went straight home carrying the basket of chestnuts. The empty courtyard seemed even more desolate. Yang Liansheng put the chestnuts in the yard and went into the kitchen to drink two bowls of boiled and cooled mountain spring water.

Then he brought a small stool and sat in the yard, peeling the shells casually.

The action is detailed and boring.

Yang Aiguo happened to return home at this time.

When the young man saw the dusty man, his eyes were suddenly filled with surprise.

"Uncle, why are you back?"

The number of times he had returned home before could be counted on one’s fingers, and he had never been so attentive.

Yang Aiguo smiled and said, "On my way, I'll go home and take a look!" He couldn't feel at ease with the half-grown boy at home alone, so he would come back to check on him whenever he had time, for fear that this troublesome boy would cause trouble.

Yang Aiguo rushed into the kitchen and carefully placed the four steamed buns made of glutinous rice flour that he bought from the restaurant in the cupboard. Looking at the cold pot and stove, he felt a little sad.

"Liansheng, what did you have for lunch..." The man carefully checked the food at home. Most of the sorghum flour was still there, and the rice he bought was untouched, with only a thin layer of bran left...

Yang Aiguo couldn't explain how he felt.

He didn't expect the child to take good care of himself.

Liansheng came over at some point and filled a basin with peeled chestnuts. After hearing what she said, she thought for a moment and said, "It's just wild vegetable porridge, dregs cakes, etc. You know my cooking skills..."

To be honest, the young man feels a little ashamed.

However, Yang Aiguo's expression suddenly changed when he saw the chestnuts in the basin. "You went to that mountain again! I told you not to go, but you just didn't listen."

"Why not? You've taken me there several times." The young man immediately retorted.

"You..." Yang Aiguo was helpless. This kid was used to being lawless and lacked discipline. He was even worse than his sister.

There was a pause between the two of them.

The man sighed, defeated.

The voice was so light that it seemed to float in the fog, vague and incomprehensible.

"Liansheng, how about I find you another aunt?"

Yang Liansheng suspected that there was something wrong with his ears.

"Uncle, what did you just say?"

Yang Aiguo raised his hand and rubbed his forehead, frowning and saying, "Nothing, uncle will come back to see you more often when he is free. You should be good at home. If you have any questions, send me a telegram!"

The boy looked at him suspiciously.

Didn’t you say this a long time ago? Why are you saying it again now? Maybe your memory is confused. You are getting more and more confused as you get older.

Yang Aiguo took the basin from the young man, washed the chestnuts and poured them all into the pot. Yang Liansheng squatted in front of the stove and skillfully lit the fire.

Looking at the young man's skillful movements, Yang Aiguo felt very pleased.

Apart from anything else, this kid is much more diligent now.

If his grandfather knew about this, he would probably be very happy.

The man paused, looked at the boy for a long time, and then asked tentatively, "Liansheng, did your grandfather really not tell you where he went?"

The boy didn't even raise his head.

Remain silent.

The man then continued, "I've found the connection you asked me to find."

The young man suddenly looked up, with a hidden red look in his eyes.

There was a hint of excitement in his voice.

"Where?"

"County Fang, we usually pass by there when we're transporting goods. After asking around, we found out that several batches of people have been there. Judging by the time, your grandfather is most likely there!"

"This time I went over and asked someone to check it out carefully. I came back to tell you after confirming that the place is no worse than ours. Don't worry about it."

The young man stuffed all the firewood in his hand into the stove hole. The sudden rise of the fire made his eyes bright and dark, with a hint of water.

The young man spoke in a way that was shocking.

"Uncle! I'll go west with you this time!"
