If you keep walking, although you're very tired, your feet will become numb. If you stop to rest, your body won't feel tired anymore, but your feet will still feel burning pain!
After walking for about ten kilometers, Qi Zhengmin could no longer walk and sat down on the ground.
"Sister Tian, I can't walk anymore, I really can't walk anymore," Qi Zhengmin said, crying.
This short distance was nothing to He Tiantian, but it was a bit difficult for Qi Zhengmin.
“Okay, let’s take a break now.” He Tiantian stopped. There happened to be a road sign that showed they had already walked eighteen kilometers.
Leaning against the pillar of the road sign, Qi Zhengmin groaned in pain!
He Tiantian helped her take off her shoes, which made Qi Zhengmin scream in pain.
Qi Zhengmin leaned against He Tiantian, groaning in pain, but somehow managed to fall asleep.
As for the mosquitoes, let them drink! We can't worry about that now!
He Tiantian took off her outer shirt, leaving only her inner tank top, and waved her shirt to help Qi Zhengmin swat away mosquitoes.
As she rushed along, He Tiantian's movements became slower and slower, and soon she too began to snore!
The Snake King perched on He Tiantian's shoulder, warily looking around.
It was worried because it had used up too much magic power today, so it stayed outside.
When I woke up, it was already slightly bright outside.
He Tiantian glanced at her watch; it was already 4:30. She wanted to wake Qi Zhengmin.
When her gaze fell on Qi Zhengmin's feet, she froze. They were covered in blisters, almost swollen like buns.
Now that it's daylight, hitchhiking is relatively safer.
He Tiantian stood up, put on the shirt she had thrown aside, tidied her hair haphazardly, and stood by the roadside, using the method of hitchhiking that she had learned when she was learning English.
Stand by the roadside, extend your right hand, make a fist, and give a thumbs up.
Perhaps He Tiantian was in too much of a mess, or perhaps some people were busy, so no one stopped.
Finally, as dawn broke, more vehicles passed by, and people's eyes involuntarily fell on the pretty woman on the roadside who was trying to hitch a ride.
Despite her disheveled appearance, He Tiantian's beauty and graceful figure remained undeniable.
Finally, a car stopped in front of He Tiantian.
But the first thing that person said was something particularly annoying: "Did you smuggle yourself in from Vietnam?"
Although the hot talk was annoying, He Tiantian couldn't let this opportunity pass since the man had stopped. She said, "We didn't cross the border illegally. My sister and I were kidnapped. Luckily, we escaped. We hope that kind sir can take us to the nearest police station. When our family arrives, they will thank you properly."
The man looked He Tiantian up and down, then glanced at Qi Zhengmin, who was standing motionless not far away, and shrugged, saying, "Sorry, I have other things to do!"
After saying that, the man stepped on the gas and drove away.
Holy crap!
Isn't it said that Americans are of high quality?
With this level of civility, they can't even compare to the Chinese!
Although we Chinese don't own cars, our honest and simple folks will take people to the police station even if they have to drive an oxcart.
"Never mind," He Tiantian shook her head and continued standing by the roadside, asking for a ride.
But when He Tiantian wasn't paying attention, the Snake King cast a curse on the car, saying, "Hehe, there will definitely be a car accident within ten kilometers!"
Half an hour later, one of the cars stopped and asked He Tiantian if she offered any special services.
He Tiantian smiled bitterly. Did she really look like a refugee or a fallen woman?
Just as He Tiantian was getting angry, a dilapidated pickup truck stopped in front of her, and a middle-aged woman with brown hair and some freckles on her face leaned out of the window.
"Do you need help?" the middle-aged woman asked with a kind smile.
He Tiantian was taken aback, then quickly nodded and said, "We desperately need your help. My sister and I were kidnapped, but thankfully we escaped. Please take us to the police station. Our family will come looking for us, and we will repay you then."
"My God!" the middle-aged woman exclaimed. "Poor child, Jimmy. You and Amy sit inside. I'll go down and check on him."
As the middle-aged man walked down the train, he took out two bottles of water and a small first-aid kit with a cross mark on it, and quickly walked over.
"Is that your sister?" the middle-aged woman asked, her face full of concern.
“Yes, this is my sister, madam!” He Tiantian replied, finally having met a kind person this time.
The middle-aged woman first took out a rag, poured some water on it, and used it to wipe Qi Zhengmin's swollen feet.
Qi Zhengmin woke up in pain and saw someone bandaging her wounds. She forced herself not to cry.
The middle-aged woman applied the medicine to Qi Zhengmin, and then said to He Tiantian, "You help me carry the first-aid kit, and I'll carry her to the car."
As she spoke, the middle-aged woman placed the items in He Tiantian's hands, then picked up Qi Zhengmin and left.
He Tiantian followed closely behind and got into the car.
The middle-aged woman let Jimmy's boy sit in the front, saying, "You hold your sister and sit in the back."
As she spoke, the middle-aged woman fastened her nine-year-old daughter Amy's seatbelt and got into the car.
"We're about to leave, are you all settled?" the middle-aged woman asked, turning to look at He Tiantian.
"I'm all settled," He Tiantian said. "Thank you!"
"You're welcome," the middle-aged woman asked. "Any mother who saw this would have stopped to help."
Qi Zhengmin was also very touched and asked, "Madam, where are you going?"
"I found a job in New York, so I brought my child here," the middle-aged woman said with a smile. "And in the back is our stuff, a whole car full!"
“My toys are there,” Jimmy laughed.
“Madam, my name is Angela, and my sister’s name is Jenny!” Qi Zhengmin said, accepting the situation. “You are good people, and it’s a pleasure to meet you.”
"It's a pleasure to meet you. You can call me Mrs. Brown," Mrs. Brown introduced herself. Because the car was full of furniture and children, she wasn't driving very fast.
However, four wheels are faster than two legs, and in just half an hour, Mrs. Brown stopped in front of a police station.
“It’s still early, I’ll go with you to report the crime,” Mrs. Brown said kindly, leading the children.
He Tiantian carried Qi Zhengmin on her back and followed Mrs. Brown into the police station.
The police saw a woman enter with four children, two of whom looked quite disheveled.
He Tiantian recounted the incident, and the police have already taken note of it.
"Officer, can I call my family and tell them we're safe?" He Tiantian asked. Only by seeing her family as soon as possible could they truly feel safe.
The police officer nodded and said, "That's fine."
"Zhengmin, sit down, I'm going to call home." He Tiantian made Qi Zhengmin sit down before walking to the telephone. (To be continued.)
