He Tiantian looked at Qi Zhengmin with anger at his lack of ambition.
"It's not necessary for others, but it is necessary for people with criminal records, especially playboys like Tang Qian," He Tiantian said. There's an old saying that goes, "A leopard can't change its spots." Although it's a rough saying, the principle is sound!
Qi Zhengmin smiled and said, "Sister Tian, I will be careful, so don't worry about me."
“I don’t want this to happen either, but Grandma is in Qijia Village and Uncle Qi is abroad. As your older sister, of course I have to look after you,” He Tiantian said. “Even if you resent me or are annoyed by me, I don’t want you to get hurt in any way.”
Qi Zhengmin hugged He Tiantian again and said, "Sister Tiantian, you're so kind."
"Alright, let's go eat." He Tiantian called to Qi Zhengmin when she saw that the food was ready.
With the child sleeping inside, He Tiantian had time to eat, which was quite rare.
Huo Yingjie listened to He Tiantian and Qi Zhengmin talking from the side, feeling happy inside.
Tang Qian deserved it; his future path of pursuing love is now fraught with uncertainty!
After dinner, He Tiantian was going to see Qi Zhengmin off, but Qi Zhengmin refused because she heard the child crying inside the house.
"Sister Tian, your bodyguards can take me," Qi Zhengmin said. "You don't need to take me yourself. The child is crying, so you should go inside."
Hearing the crying from inside the house, He Tiantian nodded and said, "Okay, Yuanyuan, you take my sister."
"Yes," Wei Yuanyuan replied, and drove Qi Zhengmin away.
Wei Yuanyuan dropped the person off at the hotel and then left.
Qi Zhengmin didn't want to go back to his room so early and wanted to go to a coffee shop for a drink, but he saw a familiar figure in the lobby.
Qi Zhengmin walked over, his leather shoes clicking on the marble floor, leaving a pleasant sound.
Tang Qian was reading a newspaper when he saw the leather shoes in front of him. He put down the newspaper and looked up.
"Are you waiting for someone?" Qi Zhengmin asked with a smile, his slightly curled hair a little messy, but it made him look even more playful.
Tang Qian stood up, somewhat embarrassed, and smiled, "Yes, I was waiting for you. I suddenly wanted to drink coffee, and I remembered that the coffee here is good, so I thought I'd have coffee with you."
"Great!" Qi Zhengmin laughed. "I want to go too."
Tang Qian's eyes lit up, and he smiled, "Please!"
Qi Zhengmin walked in front, with Tang Qian following behind.
Qi Zhengmin was already very tall, and wearing high heels made her look even taller.
In late autumn, Qi Zhengmin wore a khaki trench coat with a belt that accentuated her slender waist. Her delicate neck was fair and smooth, and her mixed-race features were striking and deep.
Under the soft light, Qi Zhengmin found a seat on the side and sat down.
"What do you like to drink?" Qi Zhengmin asked, wanting to order for Tang Qian.
"Let's have Blue Mountain coffee," Tang Qian said. To be honest, he wasn't a big fan of coffee, but Qi Zhengmin liked it, so he decided to give it a try.
"Okay," Qi Zhengmin said with a smile, "Blue Mountain coffee, cappuccino."
The waiter had just left when Tang Qian's stomach started growling.
Qi Zhengmin was taken aback, but he suppressed a laugh and pointed to the northeast corner, saying, "The restroom is over there."
Tang Qian was even more embarrassed and hurriedly explained, "I don't have an upset stomach, I just haven't had dinner yet."
"Huh?" Qi Zhengmin laughed, "You haven't had dinner yet?"
"Hmm." Tang Qian nodded. It might be better for him to admit he was hungry than to be accused of having an upset stomach.
“Then we should go to a restaurant, not a coffee shop!” Qi Zhengmin laughed. “Alright, let’s go to a restaurant.”
"Let's wait until you finish your coffee," Tang Qian said with a smile. "I'll wait a little longer, it's fine."
Qi Zhengmin looked at Tang Qian and shook his head, saying, "Coffee is for relaxation, but not eating is bad for your health. It's alright, the restaurant is right next door, I can have someone bring the coffee over. I'll drink the coffee, you eat!"
"Is this okay?" Tang Qian asked, secretly pleased. Qi Zhengmin was always so understanding.
"Of course!" Qi Zhengmin said with a smile, then stood up and told the waiter to bring the coffee to the next room.
Since they're all in the same hotel, it's fine to deliver it to the next room, the waiter agreed.
Qi Zhengmin paid the bill and gave the waiter a tip.
When they arrived next door, Qi Zhengmin handed the menu to Tang Qian and said, "Take a look and order whatever you want. It's my treat."
"Oh, I can't possibly accept that," Tang Qian said with a smile. He was really hungry, so he decided to order something to eat first. Anyway, he had money with him and could afford it.
Fortunately, it was a Chinese restaurant.
"Hehe, we're friends, treating you to dinner is nothing," Qi Zhengmin said. "Hurry up and order."
"Aren't you going to eat some with me?" Tang Qian asked. If Qi Zhengmin ate too, he would order more. If not, he would order less to avoid waste.
Qi Zhengmin smiled and said, "No need, I've already eaten at Sister Tiantian's house, I'm not hungry now."
"Okay, I'll order less then." Tang Qian ordered one meat dish, one vegetable dish, and one soup, along with rice.
Qi Zhengmin looked at the plate of sweet and sour pork ribs, a plate of hot and sour shredded potatoes, and a seaweed and egg drop soup on the table—three very common dishes.
He is a thrifty man.
Another good point about Tang Qian has been discovered.
Don't let its simplicity fool you, it tastes much better than what you get elsewhere, and it's worth the price on the menu.
After eating rice and pork ribs, my stomach stopped rumbling.
Tang Qian was born after the founding of the People's Republic of China. Although life was tough, he was able to eat and drink his fill. He was well-mannered from a young age and had excellent table manners.
As Qi Zhengmin sipped her coffee, she observed Tang Qian, imagining their time working together. Tang Qian had given her so many surprises.
Perhaps, she has already fallen for him.
Tang Qian finished eating and drank the soup.
As for the dark coffee, Tang Qian ignored it; he still wasn't used to that stuff.
"Do you like good food?" Tang Qian asked. He grew up in Yanjing and knew the best food in the city very well.
Now that he wants to understand and like Qi Zhengmin, Tang Qian wants to take Qi Zhengmin to his secret base to eat some of the things he thinks are delicious.
"I like it," Qi Zhengmin said with a smile. "Do you have any good recommendations?"
“Yes, we have many private restaurants around here,” Tang Qian said. “Are you free tomorrow night? I can take you to eat there.”
"Tomorrow night?" Qi Zhengmin asked. "Let me think, I should be free. I'm leaving the day after tomorrow, so consider this a farewell dinner."
Tang Qian smiled and said, "Okay, then I'll go and reserve a room first thing tomorrow morning."
"Okay." Qi Zhengmin nodded.
We've had our coffee and our meal; it's time to say goodbye.
"Then see you tomorrow," Tang Qian said with a smile.
"Okay, I'll see you off." Qi Zhengmin smiled.
"No need, you should go back to your room. I'm a grown man, I'll be fine," Tang Qian refused, telling Qi Zhengmin not to leave.
